Wait a minute here. This is America. He paid heavily for what he did.

If he could somehow bring down Barney Frank, Chris Dodd and their Fannie Mae Associates - I'll lead the cheers.

If somehow he can bring down the Fat Cats on Wall Street that pocketed heavily with TARP and Stimulus - I would organize a ticker tape parade.

[...] Michelle seem to suggests that Silda just wants to get Eliot out of the house. Ed Morrissey, Hot Air, offers a reason why: It’s not only hypocritical, it’s corrupt. And worst of all, Spitzer dragged his wife onto the dais with him when he resigned instead of standing by himself and taking his medicine. That takes a special kind of testicular inadequacy, one that should stick to him like a political tattoo [...]

Great idea, Life...

Let's all see if we can come up with some slogans of our own for Spitzer's campaign. Howza 'bout:

"Less irritating than that painful rectal itch."
or:
"Remember that time you accidentally drank rancid milk? Well, he's more palatable than that!"

He violated the Mann Act about transporting hookers across state lines. He should be prosecuted. But he has a (D) after his name, so he'll walk.
What's really disappointing is the fact that the entire NY political establishment is staying quiet about this. Most likely because they fear tight scrutiny, but still.

rocketman,
It seems that lying, narcissistic, back-stabbing, cheats are endemic in positions of leadership in this country. We see it in our government, business, home owners associations, and even many Churches. Has it always been this way? To be sure, positions of high office have always been targets of jerks and a$$holes, but has it always been this pervasive and accepted by our society? I can't tell you how many times that I've worked in organizations where the leadership is just evil. At least in software engineering, my experience working in several organizations has jaded my feelings of loyalty to employers. Most companies' focus on short term results make them blind to how their decisions affect them in the long term. The employer/employee relationship has eroded to the point that employees are seen as expendable assets, and employees just trade work hours for money. I think we're seeing the same paradigm being played out between elected representatives and their constituents.

Spitzer broke more laws as New York's chief law enforcement official than he did patronizing overpriced escort agencies. For example, after becoming governor, he admitted, upon signing an amendment to the penal code, that he had targeted two defendants for four years based on the unamended law that he knew was unconstitutionally vague.
