Shhhh: Gmail is down, but don’t tell the White House

By Michelle Malkin  •  September 1, 2009 05:14 PM

Gmail has been down for at least an hour.

But don’t complain too loudly about it.

You know how Rahm Emanuel likes to exploit a crisis…and the last thing we need is another Email Czar.

Tip: If you go to igoogle, you should be able to access your gmail.

Since I refuse to use ANYTHING associated with google, not a problem for me.

Then again, I pay my mortgage, so the mortgage crises shouldn’t be a problem for me either, but it seems to be a factor in determining my continued employment. So maybe this google thing is important.

I use an e-mail client to access my Gmail, and it just dumped a bunch of messages in my in-box; my in-house IT guy says its probably just the web interface that’s broken.

Note: I typed the above several minutes ago, hit Preview, and got the blue screen :-o

Not saying it’s connected, but it was rather funny (as in funny odd, not funny ha-ha). Maybe sonofdy is right…. ;-)

Was there a chain email that spoke badly of China? I can imagine that would be enough for Google to shut down GMail.

Running arround with your hair on fire and screaming like a demented banshee is optional at this point, but panic is acceptable.
