So, what else is new? Obama has been preaching from the day he started campaigning except from the Alinski book, not the Bible. He only uses the Bible when it suits his purpose and wants to get the congregation fired up.

Can I get a "hallelujah" anyone? Maybe an "amen" or two. Praise Obama and pass the stimulus money on down. Let's not hear any jingling in the collection plate, only the rustle of high denomination bills and checks. There you go brothers and sisters. Remember, I throw the money against the wall after every service. What sticks to the wall belongs to the church, what don't is mine! Praise be!!!

The churches are tax-exempt. If they speak about politics and take sides, they need to be reported. They should lose their tax-exempt status. If my pastor started spewing liberal garbage from the pulpit, I would tell him, privately, that if I hear it again, I will report him to the IRS. Fortunately, I haven't heard anything like that. However, now that my synod has approved gays in committed relationships being pastors, I will probably be leaving that church anyway. Sigh.

It's a shame that you didn't stay long enough to at least exchange ideas. Let the congregation have a voice (if just through applause).

Walk out. Not worth my time to attend. Not looking for an argument.

unions much like the administration no longer serve any useful purpose. they have become parasites depending on democrats to steal money from taxpayers to support their addiction to other's money. unions are money junkies, stop the money theft and unions die.

Matthew 7:16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

Isaiah 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

Matthew 15:9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

The fools who believe that they can live any way they want while their pastors preach from the Oprah book of the month and still be "Christians" are the same fools who believe the union dogma. Just give money and the union takes care of this life; the liberal "church" takes care of the next life. They will be sadly mistaken believing in either.

Definitely look for the union label on the rock. Then turn the rock over. You might just find a Democrat functionary underneath. Now, for those who are cool with that, fine. Head on over this Sunday and knock yourself out.

[Personally, I would prefer to avoid the Purple Monster or at the very least, think twice about it, but that's just me.]

As an example, here is how the local Univeralist Unitarian church describes its upcoming (9/6) Sunday Sermon:

A group of citizens from Snohomish County has worked together for more than a year to draft a human rights ordinance for Snohomish County. This ordinance provides tools for individuals to use when they feel they have been the victims of any sort of discrimination. It seeks to bring parties together through dispute resolution methods rather than expensive and divisive litigation.
 [Emphasis mine.]

Now here is the presenter (from wikipedia.org):

Luis Moscoso is the Director of Government Relations for the Washington Public Employees Association/UFCW Local 365 in Olympia, Washington. He oversees and coordinates the WPEA's Legislative-Political program and issues advocacy agendas. He is responsible for evaluating and facilitating the union's strategic, operations and education programs. Mr. Moscoso is serving his second term as Secretary of the Washington State Democratic Party.

Have a question what his "dispute resolution methods" are? Come to the party and ask away.
