“I pledge to be of service to Barack Obama”

By Michelle Malkin  •  September 2, 2009 01:05 PM

As if I needed any more evidence to bolster today’s column about the Obama junior lobbyist campaign in America’s schools, here’s another item fresh from the headlines in Utah:

A school principal has apologized for showing a video at an assembly that a politically conservative group leader is calling “radical, leftist propaganda.”

Children at Eagle Bay Elementary School in Farmington were shown a short video called “I pledge” on Aug. 28. The video opens with an image of President Barack Obama and part of a speech in which he says, “Let us summon a new spirit of patriotism, of responsibility where each of us resolves to pitch in and work harder and look after not only ourselves but each other.” The video then features celebrities making pledges about how they will help the president and the world — and that’s where some say the problem lies…

… Gayle Ruzicka, president of conservative Utah Eagle Forum, said the video was blatantly political. She said other offensive pledges included, “I pledge to be of service to Barack Obama,” “I pledge allegiance to the funk, to the united funk of funkadelica,” and pledges to not use plastic grocery bags and not flush the toilet after urinating.

“It’s very inappropriate to show a radical, leftist propaganda piece that political to children,” Ruzicka said. “If parents want their children to learn about those things and do them in the home, wonderful, fine, but it’s not the place of the school to show a one-sided propaganda piece to children without parents knowing about it.”

Cieslewicz said such values should be decided in the home, not at school.

Coming to a classroom assembly near you…

    — To meet with their constituents and listen to them in a respectful manner without labeling them as a stupid, misinformed, angry mob of astroturfed terrorists.

    — And to recognize that we elected them and if we’re really that stupid, it doesn’t say much for them.

BTW, don’t blame me I voted for Sarah (and, consequently, the old rich white guy who hid behind her).

The problem is that I don’t see any of the party leadership doing anything to prevent a re-run of 2008. They still allow open primaries. They still allow New Hampshire and Iowa to “go first”. They haven’t even begun to clarify what they stand for.

The party leadership is part of the problem. Do not look to them to help us. They will do their very best to hinder.

I am not sending any money to the Republican Party. Republican Party money goes straight to Republican candidates trying to stop conservatives.

I send money directly to conservative candidates with at least an outside chance of winning. Even to conservatives outside my state.

They will try to open more primaries rather than close them all as they should. That is why it is essential to become united early on in order to bury the huge ‘crossover’ vote we can be certain the obamites will be encouraging.

Note: If someone like Palin (has a chance) launches a third party candidacy, that will be where I will be. The Republican Party can die for all I care.

    See any historical similarities?

Jungvolk Oath (taken by ten-year-old boys on first entering the Hitler Youth)

“In the presence of this blood banner which represents our Führer, I swear to devote all my energies and my strength to the saviour of our country, Adolf Hitler. I am willing and ready to give up my life for him, so help me God.”

    Pledge of Allegiance

“I promise to do my duty in love and loyalty to the Führer and our flag.”

Hitler Youth ‘Prayers’ (modeled after the Lord’s Prayer)

“Adolf Hitler, you are our great Führer. Thy name makes the enemy tremble. Thy Third Reich comes, thy will alone is law upon the earth. Let us hear daily thy voice and order us by thy leadership, for we will obey to the end and even with our lives. We praise thee! Heil Hitler!”

“Führer, my Führer, give me by God. Protect and preserve my life for long. You saved Germany in time of need. I thank you for my daily bread. Be with me for a long time, do not leave me, Führer, my Führer, my faith, my light, Hail to my Führer!”

    And the ever popular

    Quotes of Adolf Hitler

“I begin with the young. We older ones are used up. We are rotten to the marrow. We are cowardly and sentimental. We are bearing the burden of a humiliating past, and have in our blood the dull recollection of serfdom and servility. But my magnificent youngsters! Are there any finer ones in the world? Look at these young men and boys! What material! With them, I can make a new world. This is the heroic stage of youth. Out of it will come the creative man, the man-god.”

“When an opponent declares, ‘I will not come over to your side,’ I say calmly, ‘Your child belongs to us already…What are you? You will pass on. Your descendants, however, now stand in the new camp. In a short time they will know nothing but this new community’.”

Now I am not saying Obama is the new Hitler, but he is off on the right foot. Or should I say “left foot?”

Also, since these people decided to politicize their school, where is the opposing point of view that supports individual freedom and the free enterprise system.

A few years ago, a state supported movie theater ran Michael Moore’s Fahrenheit 9/11. The uproar was so great that the director of the theater, a local politician, was removed from the directorship. In addition, movies showing the opposite point of view were quickly put in the theater.

Fascism by Obama’s own words is his choice. He has said he doesn’t want to ‘own’ GM & Chrysler. The control he exerts instead of ownership is a classic definition of ‘Fascism’ as practiced by Mussolini and exalted at the time by western ‘Progressives’.

Tell us about your political philosophy. There are different groups of conservatives, by way of example: Social Conservative, Fiscal Conservative, Law & Order Republican.

[W]hat is it about George W. Bush that makes you want to serve him?

There isn’t a single issue on this video that isn’t the subject of debate at some level, and it is right that many parents have taken offense at this.

Liberals just don’t get the fact that if this continues, they will lose their freedom just like conservatives. They should remember that Stalin killed all of the intellectuals because he knew that they just might confront him and he wanted a subservient remainder of people.

LOL. We do use cloth bags when shopping – easier on the hands and the bottom won’t drop out when carrying heavy stuff up the stairs to our condo.

But periodically we’ll ‘forget’ those bags when shopping so we can stock-up on plastic bags for the cat’s used litter. ;-)

I may be a little on edge right now – an illness in the family (age related, not those ‘nasty germs’ ;-) ). But I do hate it when some people assume that because we use reusable cloth bags that we don’t know or care about ‘germs’, or that we’ve bought into the eco-nut propaganda.

Of course, having a cat that likes to eat plastic bags and then barf it up all over the carpet is one motivation to keep said bags at a minimum in our house.

    You Neanderthal, you…! ;-)

The cat we had before this one, which, as I told our pediatrician when she was trying to determine whether the cat was a problem for our asthmatic toddler, I had before I had my husband ;-) was part Siamese, and for a long time she was mine and mine alone. Eventually she adopted my husband, and more than tolerated the children.

This one, according to the family that let their female cat get pregnant ‘as a biology lesson’ for their kids (I will not comment further on that…) and from whom we adopted him, is part Siamese on his paternal side – I don’t know what the feline equivalent of ‘mutt’ is, but he’s it. Still beautiful, and still dumb.

And I can’t imagine not having him (we named him Ginger, ’cause he’s full of it!).

    Anyway, thanks for the chuckle.

It’s so sad they have such a lack of knowledge of history.

For years there were concerns of subliminal messages in advertising, but the way the video opened (and closed) was chilling with its “collective” mentality subtlely woven into the message.

I can’t believe that the same people calling for Bush’s head just a few yearas ago could actually partake in such a film.

Memory loss may be limited to the inability to recall recent events, events from the distant past, or a combination of both. Although the normal aging process can result in difficulty in learning and retaining new material, normal aging itself is not a cause of significant memory loss unless there is accompanying disease that is responsible for the memory loss.
