Hands off my health care. Teeth off my hands.

rabid

When the story broke last night about a health care town hall scuffle in Thousand Oaks, Calif., that left one person without a part of his finger, it wasn’t clear who bit whom.

MoveOn activists were involved and their accounts colored much of the early coverage.

It now appears that the biter was an Obamacare supporter and the victim was an Obamacare foe.

Thankfully, doctors were able to reattach the severed digit.

No need to imagine the horrified fulminations from the White House to the New York Times to MSNBC if it had been the other way around.

Ed Morrissey looks at the mayhem and the possible charges that both the biter and the bitee (who reportedly threw a punch) might face.

Bob Owens rewrites the Obama-bots’ new motto: “Yes, We Can(nibal)!”

Opponents of socialized medicine must also adjust their chants:

Hands off my health care…and teeth off my hands!

***

Afterthought: President Obama has been telling Americans to make sure they get their shots.

Now, we know why!

***

Old saying: If you point a finger, three point back at you.

New saying in the Age of Obama: If you point a finger, you might not get it back.

***

Remember: Under Obamacare, the health care protester’s finger would not have been re-attached.

Dr. O’s prescription: Take a pill.

No we aren’t. You guys on the lunatic fringe may be(left & right) but the rest of us are watching and keeping our distance from the few of you.

I hope you all hurry up and fight it out so that we sane people can bury you all and get on with our country.

Sorry lad but as civil wars heat up there are no bystanders. There are issues being pushed where there is no middle ground. The Left wishes to force us to go where we will not. Read Michell Obama’s words and those of the Czars. Stand in the middle and you will likely be run over two ways at once.

Civil war? I have thought so for some time

When you’re really trying to make serious change, you don’t want people to get caught up in emotion because change isn’t emotion. Because change isn’t emotion. Its real work and organization and strategy.. that’s just the truth of it. I mean, you pull people in with inspiration, but then you have to roll up your sleeves and you’ve got to make sacrifices and you have got to have structure.
    Michelle Obama

“The truth is, in order to get things like universal health care and a revamped education system, then someone is going to have to give up a piece of their pie so that someone else can have more.” -
    Michelle Obama

Barack Obama will require you to work. He is going to demand that you shed your cynicism. That you put down your divisions. That you come out of your isolation, that you move out of your comfort zones. That you push yourselves to be better. And that you engage. Barack will never allow you to go back to your lives as usual, uninvolved, uninformed.
    Michelle Obama

He is going to demand and he sure is. Rant at the “fringe” all you want. We have seen it before all too often, this cult of personality. Move to one side or the other moonshot. Obama ain’t gonna allow no middle cuz MamaBama said so. He has the Reich Czars, Reich Fuhrers, ACORN, New Black Panther Party, whatever.

I’ve noticed a lot of liberal friends on Facebook posting the following status:

No one should die because they cannot afford health care, and no one should go broke because they get sick. If you agree, please post this as your status for the rest of the day.

I thought of this as my rebuttal status:

People should be free to make their own choices and reap the benefits or bear the consequences. People should not have to worry about faceless government bureaucrats making decisions for them, especially about healthcare. The government should work for the people and not run roughshod over the Constitution while drunk with power. If you agree, please post this as your status for the rest of the day and longer.

Good for you. I Pretty much ended ALL socialization with Liberals within a few weeks of 9/11 but it had really deteriorated after the pantywaist hysteria in the election of 2000.

I just had nothing to say but “sorry we are busy right now”. After awhile even the dumbest of them caught on.

No need to wonder which character LGM identifies more with in the novel 1984.

…Winston did not speak for another moment or two. A feeling of weariness had overwhelmed him. The faint, mad gleam of enthusiasm had come back into O’Brien’s face. He knew in advance what O’Brien would say: that the Party did not seek power for its own ends, but only for the good of the majority. That it sought power because men in the mass were frail, cowardly creatures who could not endure liberty or face the truth, and must be ruled over and systematically deceived by others who were stronger than themselves. That the choice for mankind lay between freedom and happiness, and that, for the great bulk of mankind, happiness was better. That the Party was the eternal guardian of the weak, a dedicated sect doing evil that good might come, sacrificing its own happiness to that of others. The terrible thing was that when O’Brien said this he would believe it. You could see it in his face. O’Brien knew everything. A thousand times better than Winston, he knew what the world was really like, in what degradation the mass of human beings lived and by what lies and barbarities the Party kept them there. He had understood it all, weighed it all, and it made no difference: all was justified by the ultimate purpose. What can you do, thought Winston, against the lunatic who is more intelligent than yourself, who gives your arguments a fair hearing and then simply persists in his lunacy?

From what my friends and relatives in the medical profession tell me, human bites are among some of the worse as far as infection goes.

Mark Steyn subbing for Rush Limbaugh did a segment on it today. But they use heavy sedation to keep the peasants quiet. We can not give these people that much power over us.

    Linked from El Rushbo
    Paneled to Death [Mark Steyn]

    From the Daily Telegraph:

Patients with terminal illnesses are being made to die prematurely under an NHS scheme to help end their lives, leading doctors warn today.

In a letter to The Daily Telegraph, a group of experts who care for the terminally ill claim that some patients are being wrongly judged as close to death.

Under NHS guidance introduced across England to help doctors and medical staff deal with dying patients, they can then have fluid and drugs withdrawn and many are put on continuous sedation until they pass away.

Sarah Palin got it right on the “death panel” business, and finnicky conservative critics missed the point: Governmentalization of health care leads to rationing, and rationing leads to death panels — very literally.

Are all gun owners second amendment freaks, lgm?

So far only you have defended this action as somehow being noble through a convoluted tu quoque defense. The biter didn’t think it was so noble. He ran away.

If someone bit my finger off, I wouldn’t need a fire arm to be lethal. Your argument is a joke, particularly in light of the fact that worst violence thus far has been from the left and not the “2nd amendment freaks”. The biter took advantage of the fact that the victim was 65 years old. Who fights like that?

Red State Skeptic expressed shame of this behavior. Are you seriously going to make this attempt to justify it?

Dr. Williams is on right now sitting in for Rush. He brought up Madison and Jefferson in regard to the “General Welfare Clause” and that got me thinking…

Madison wrote that it ought to be obvious that the construction in Article 1, Section 8, was one whereby the general statement, punctuated by a semicolons, is then followed by the specifics detailing what elements describe that ‘general welfare’.

So ‘general welfare’ is not some ~open~ clause, it is completely bounded by the specifications that follow it.

To suggest otherwise, that Congress can just add whatever it wishes to that list, INVALIDATES THE FUNDAMENTAL PURPOSE OF THE CONSTITUTION ITSELF – TO LIMIT GOVERNMENT …not offer up suggestions for more ways federal government can take control away from the people and the states.

So, going back to Dr. Williams, yes this health care bill IS unconstitutional and it’s about time we all start defending our Constitution while we still can.

If HR3200 or any of its clones are not Constitutional then NONE of the other particulars in it should be of any consequence to anyone.
