Recording it might be one thing; allowing it to be published against the express wishes of that Marine’s family is flat out despicable.

AP might want to dig up some files of victims of the 9-11 attacks and publish those to remind everyone why our warriors are fighting.

Than they need to look at their human ugliness in a mirror.

Doing this to surviving family is despicable.

I hope they find comfort in the fact we find this an egregious assault on decency and compassion.

The truth in this case is the true colors of the media. That’s the picture that is clear to me!

I work in EMS and have been on some crashes with AP people killed. Mayhap AP would like me to release the nice photos so their families can wallow in some more pain? So we can all appreciate what the press do? Who they were really with, how their brains were smashed all over the road etc…

I have this code of conduct that unfortunately prevents it but liberals rarely seem to be so encumbered….

I concur; in the heat of the moment, there isn’t any way for a photographer to differentiate between mortal and non-mortal injuries – heck, the medics can’t always make that call either. They, like the photographer, just do what they know how to do in that moment.

I have not seen the photo. Did the photographer know for certain the wounds were mortal?

Even if he did, to print or not to print is not a decision a photographer should be making. He snaps whatever looks relevant at the moment, and then the editors decide what is appropriate to put into a story.

Hopefully the imbedded reporter has been removed and will never again be allowed anywhere near a war zone with defense dept credentials.

It is not the reporter. It is the Associated Press that made the decision.

The AP and anyone associated with it should be shunned. So-called “right wing bloggers” are the only news people the military should embed. They are the only ones actually on our side. Anyone else will betray us for a buck. Or less.
