I would be terrified to be a mother right now. I am not exactly sure how I would react to this situation if my child was in that little group.

Michelle Malkin has posted this video and a few other post about the brainwashing coming from the left.

T-Bone,

My home schooled kids are performing 4 to 6 years ahead of their public schooled peers. We spend about $12,000 less per child than the county does while providing a better education. A significant percentage of public schooled kids I know are functionally illiterate in several skill sets.

Do you REALLY think public schools are "doing pretty good?" Seriously...

My kids have never spent a day in public schools. However, your comment is a little confusing. State-run, public education is hardly unconstitutional even though in its present form it is highly undesirable.

Remember that the US Constitution enumerates the powers of the Federal Government. The powers of the individual states are enumerated in the various state constitutions. Article VIII of the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Virginia certainly gives the state the authority to operate a public education system.

Therefore, state-run, public education is not unconstitutional. Federal intrusion into state-run, public education may well be. 90% of what comes out of Washington, DC is probably unconstitutional. But the Federal Government does not run public education in America. At least not yet.

But, if your kids are in a state-run, public school you should remove them immediately! If conservatives pulled their kids out of public schools tomorrow we would make a huge step toward reclaiming our republic.

FilmLadd,

To put it mildly: you are wrong.

Education is a public good *only* because of the reasons I've given above. It is not designed to provide kids with opportunity, although it does - it is designed to equip the nation with the tools it needs to thrive. Specifically:

An educated populace will be better citizens. More knowledgable about freedom and liberty, and how to maintain those (tell me we haven't failed, abjectly, there). This is where the "defense of liberty" comes in. We agree, just like we agree to fund a military, that our children need to be educated *specifically* to propagate and sustain the republic.

This message is largely how the Nickelodeon propaganda reads.

All I'm saying is "to oppose it makes people sound stupid." Who is against more freedom, etc.?

We know that this is propaganda. The way to take the fight is to take the topic. Show the public that the only way to accomplish these goals are through Conservative Principals.

Any other approach is a fool's errand.

dr walter williams asked a very pertinent question to this whole debate last week. he said "one way i decide if i own something is if i can sell it." he was speaking of his organs, and how the gubmint had confiscated them because he couldn't sell them here. but the same question needs to be asked about lots of our possessions. if we can't sell our house before we install insullation, is it really ours. if we have a right to healthcare, can we opt out of it? do we have a right to food? do we have a right to shoes? do we have a right to succeed in life? you may own property, but if you can't build upon it because the gubmint has decided a snail darder is more important than houses, do you own it? how about if you burn every inch of that property? if you pave it? i think we have lost so much of our property rights, our freedoms, that this is no longer america.

Anybody, Democrat or Republican, who still has Nick on their dial after the put Paris Hilton in front of the mic at the Kid's Choice Awards the same year her porn movie came out is borderline retarded IMHO. I see that Miley Cyrus treated her young fans to a pole dance this year.

We missed that.

I will confess that we watch SpongeBob on DVD though.

You left out that back in 2002 (I read about it on Townhall) they did a GLADD produced 30 minute "news program" (at least that's how it was listed in the guide) in which they had about 15 kids, mostly of gay parents, Rosie O'Donnell, a gay columnist and a school administrator who we find out late in the program is also gay. The whole thing was hosted by Linda Ellerby. The subject was harrassment of the children of gay parents. The three religious kids expressed the opinion that their religion teaches that homosexuality is wrong, but also that you don't harrass the kids. The were called closed-minded by the other children. Jerry Falwell had a pre-recorded message in it, but it was chopped up and a GLADD spokeswoman would make a rebuttal, which is NOT how it was pitched to Falwell. He tried to get his part removed but couldn't. I used to have a tape of the program but I don't know where it is anymore. I'm sure it exists out there somewhere.

It was obvious it was pushing gay acceptance, which would fine if they admitted that was the actual topic and gave parents some warning. There was a warning at the beginning but how many parents had to have an sensitive conversation with children they may have felt were not ready for it?

OH I almost forgot. I went on Nickelodeon's website and posted a comment asking if anyone heard anything about the content of the program and it was deleted in less than an hour.

STUDENT: Hi, my name is Sean. And my question is, currently 36 countries have universal health coverage, including Iraq and Afghanistan, which have it paid for by the United States. Why can’t the United States have universal health coverage?

Obama: This students liberal indoctrination is progressing well but could be improved upon. The question should be as follows:

STUDENT: Hi, my name is Moonbeam. And my question is that there are over 100 countries where the people live off the land happily in mud huts without pollution from cars and all those ugly malls everywhere. Why can't we stop being so greedy and go back to living in peaceful, prosperous tribal communities, just like Afghanistan?
