Newt Gingrich on the couch with Obama & Al Sharpton

By Michelle Malkin  •  September 8, 2009 03:11 PM

This is what happens when you get too much Beltway on the brain.

Newt Gingrich — who sidled up on a couch with Nancy Pelosi for one of Al Gore’s global warming ad campaigns — championed President Obama’s education speech today.

Subtext be damned.

Gingrich, you should know, has been on a summer road trip with police-bashing, violence-inciting, race charlatan Al Sharpton and Obama Education Secretary Arne Duncan:

The tour starts Sept. 29 in Philadelphia, heads to New Orleans on Nov. 3 and then to Baltimore on Nov. 13 — cities selected for what they can teach others about school reform.

Gingrich paid homage to Sharpton earlier this spring along with Vice President Joe Biden.

Sharpton is an agent of hate with nothing — I repeat, nothing — of value to contribute to the school reform debate.

Keep this self-serving traveling circus away from America’s classrooms.

Newt seems to be one of those politicians who ignores political behavior and focuses on the current issue. It can be a strength when you want to cut a deal and have to work with scum but it seems really naive sometimes, too.

Just listened to today’s BBC World Report where they were reporting on Obama’s problems passing ObamaCare. They got it right, at least much more accurately than our own MSM.

Most importantly, they clearly stated that Obama’s problems were due to broad-based grassroots resistance unrelated to the GOP. Quite a contrast to our MSM which continually misreports this by blaming “radical right-wing extremists”. There was none of that with the BBC report. They made it crystal clear that it is ordinary citizens who are very disenchanted with the bill.

Proves that persistence pays. Even when gaining ground one inch at a time, we do eventually reach a tipping point. It would be suicide for our entrenched criminal class of elected weasels in DC to now try to cram a “bipartisan” bill down our throats. I doubt the Dems will try to do it alone.

More on my last comment. This proves that the GOP as it is now constituted has effectively been marginalized. If they can’t find the wherewithal to replace their leadership, they can expect another rough year in 2010 regardless of whether or not they gain seats. There is not compelling reason for any House Republican to take the RNC seriously anymore. They are now free to run as conservatives. Sarah Palin could be a great help to them.

You how people are always saying that there should be an option for “none of the above” on the ballot? There is. Here is how you find it.

When you look at the ballot, you’ll see the Democratic Party candidate. Skip right past it. Then you’ll see a Republican candidate. Skip past that one too. Pick one from the remaining candidates.

Too many conservatives either stay home or hold their noses to vote for the Assistant Democrat. Vote for any of the others. We are witnessing in Iran and Venezuela what happens when the government fails to confirm its legitimacy at the ballot box. Chaos. The first thing we need to do to fix our government is to take away its legitimacy. We are already close.

Voter registrations for the Republican Party are down to 23% and sinking. The Dems are down to 31-32% and sinking. That’s 53-54% combined. If the noseholders of both parties could just show up at the polls next election and vote “none of the above”, regardless of what the pundits and corruption enablers might say to preserve the status quo, they would know that the jig is up.

If the two major parties cannot combine to attract half of the voters into their membership, they are a rogue government. A two-party system could not govern effectively if winning candidates consistently attract less than half of the vote.

Right now, both parties and the cultural elites are at war with conservatives. Yet we are spoiling the party for the post-partisans.

If more of us could clear our heads to think straight, we would clearly see that everything is in place for a conservative to win as third-party candidate. A Sarah Palin making a big impact campaigning for all conservatives next year would transform the landscape and set her up as that candidate for 2012 or 2016. At worst, she could impose a conservative agenda on whatever candidate the GOP selects.

The only thing standing in the way is lack of imagination. That is why the Republicans failed to replace the Whigs. No! Wait! They DID replace the Whigs! Huh!

Newt is a has-been and thinks he is cleverly positioning himself for a ‘centrist’ role. He would do well to remember where he was politically and where that got him to in 1994. It was not a centrist attitude. It was pure old Reagan conservatism. It doesn’t matter now. I don’t believe that he can garner enough support to be a serious candidate or political leader. The Tea Party folks should tell him to kiss off.

Moreover why was HE writing for these particular two globalists anyway?

Amen brother. I used to call for the none of the above category, and then I figured out there was one. I voted 3rd party. Regardless if they had no chance of winnning. The old saying “a thousand mile journey starts with one step”. As long as nose holders (those that claim to be nose holders anyway) continue voting for the republicans, they will continue to drift left to pick up some center of left votes.

I don’t get the Sara Palin advocacy though. I am not sold on her yet. I am always leary of anyone who doesn’t totally refute amnesty and doesn’t sternly call for a complete halt to illegal immigration (maybe she has and I missed it). It is my litmus test. That issue shows the level of pandering the candidate intends to do once in office.
