Why should D.C. schoolkids listen to Obama?

By Michelle Malkin  •  September 8, 2009 12:55 PM

Why should D.C. schoolkids listen to Obama? He didn’t listen to them.

Would love to see this video played in schools as a follow-up to Obama’s speech.

He’s all for educational values…except when he isn’t. Not forgotten:

I agree with those children. I would like to send my kids to a private school.

But, Duh One and the Non Education ASSociation can’t control what they learn if they do.

Besides, who do those children think they are!?!? Duh Ones kids, or something!?!?

Beacuse then it would be an open admission that the Public School System in DC and across the nation in general is a failure. It would be an open admission that all these children attending this program do have the capability to learn given the proper atmosphere. Gone would be all the race baiters yelling that it is Whiteys fault we cannot get ahead and succeed. Now we can’t have that can we?

We need to get the Federal Government out of education. Since the ’60s, the Federal Government has turned public education into a training camp for Young Liberals.

The kids need to know their enemy. Both useful educations and decent schools are denied these students by the Democrats.

So much for “doing it for the children.”

Apparently, the DC Opportunity Scholarship Program was based on merit as well as need, instead of affirmative action quotas. I guess the administration was afraid that the children picked for the program would end up too smart to vote Democrat.

the state mandates public schools with gubmint union teachers paid for by money confiscated from producers. never mind that the u.s. now ranks behind nearly every civilized nation in education, and way behind china, korea, and india. we must preserve the nea because they support the correct party. we can’t allow competition for them with a private option, but the evil insurance companies must have a competitive public option to instill competition. HYPOCRITE!

I suppose that is a reasonable question, but what about a discussion on what he said?

Wasn’t there concern about what he was going to say? Now that he has spoken to the Nation’s schools, was what he said, good, bad, or indifferent?

Were the concerns that were expressed adequately addressed? Or, appropriately absent?

And I believe the public school system in D.C. has one of the highest expenditure-per-student ratio in the country. I believe the teachers are among the highest paid in the nation.

I know the test results are among the lowest in the United States.

    Go figure…

How interesting that these children get it and HRH Obama doesn’t. It’s all about me, with nothing for thee. The elites can have a good education while others have to attend pathetic schools and like it.

Well, the Clintons are good examples of sending their kid to a private school – and they were OPENLY preaching that PUBLIC education was the only way to go. Of course, Chelsea went to The Sidwell Friends school, where all of the elite children go. After all, they wouldn’t want GERMS or anything from the riff-raff.

Hang… We need to get the Federal Government out of virtually everything. It is the greatest threat this republic has ever seen. Accountable to no one. Al Qaida has no better ally than Obama and his Congress.

I am certain the Great Sub-Prime Scam was part of a larger plan by Marxists in the Democrat Party to bring down this country. And I’m sure they are stunned it worked as well as it did.

Their friends, the willing thieves on Wall Street, were a big help. “Turn your heads, shut up, and make a lot of money. You get what you want. We get what we want.” What was it Lenin said about the rope they would use to hang the capitalists?

What? Do you suppose that THE ONE ought to listen to anyone? Do you suppose that THE ONE has the capacity to listen to anyone who isn’t one of his “mentors?”

Barack Obama is a product of those who have bestowed upon him the mantle of an infallible leader, and Obama believes in his infallibility. He cannot be reasoned with. Barack Obama has been programmed to be a megalomaniac dictator, and it is only a matter of time before he declares that the US Constitution is a restraint to his messianic destiny, and he and his party declares it null and void.

Obama told the students to watch what they post on Facebook as it may come back to haunt them – he was probably referencing the words that Van Jones used to condemn himself.

I would have quoted Mark Twain “If you tell the truth you won’t have to remember anything.”

When George H. W. Bush addressed the school children of the nation in 1991 the National Education Association denounced the speech, saying it “cannot endorse a president who spends $26,000 of taxpayers’ money on a staged media event” Congress held investigations.

Who’s investigating Obama? Congress? Maybe the problem was that Obama had an obedience curriculum for the mind numbed robots members of the NEA to use and HW didn’t.

These did seem to be a lot of little darlings on the metro during school hours when we were there. Were they reached? No Child Left Behind and such.

I went to Public schools in a small-ish town, approx 150 Graduates in my class. It was almost 99% white, but the non-white students never complained or never brough up race. Neither did the white students. It was one of the better schools in the state. In college I see many of the blacks are diffenret. They ar not that to learn and have fun unless they cna be equal. Consudentualidaly they are moslty from inner city type schools.

    Just my observations.

They just want to be able to choose to chop up their inconvenient preborn infants, that’s all. That and have anal intercourse in public and use whatever recreational drugs they want.

The government can do anything else it wants to them, including giving them suicide pills instead of proper medical care. No problemo.

    Libs are insane.

I’ve always thought that our presidents had good intentions, even if their policies were stupid (Jimmy Carter). But I really think that Obama doesn’t give a crap about anyone but himself. He really doesn’t care about these kids or any other kids. The reason for today’s speech was just to put a spotlight on himself.

I’ve read a number of conservative bloggers who say that if he says or does this or that, he’d have a pretty successful presidency. The problem with that is he just really doesn’t care about anything except gaining more power for himself. He shows that by using his so-called friends, then throws them under the bus. He even did that to the grandmother who raised him.

Anyone who thinks he cares about the uninsured, the elderly, the poor, security, safety, or anything else is very mistaken. He doesn’t even care about his own family.

Think about the half-brother living in abject poverty in Africa. Just $100/month from his “brother” would impact his life dramatically. What about his illegal aunt? Her nephew is rich and she’s living on welfare? Why?

It’s really scary when you combine that narcissist ego with historical and economical ignorance.
