Another GOP Cone of Shame Award

I was traveling yesterday when the lurid news of GOP California Assemblyman Mike Duvall’s sexual bragging and lobbyist affairs broke.
At least he, unlike many other Republican embarrassments, had a last shred of decency left in him to resign.

Sleeping with lobbyists eh? I know drummers with more scruples than that!

“Worlds Largest Cone of Shame”
Bad dog – stop licking yourself!
ok 1 more try….lol
worlds largest cone of shame
Vitter called out! Love it.
The key word here is “resigned” …
a word that does not exist in the liberal dictionary …
that was just gross.
Republican is to resigned as Democrat is to promotion.
They need to remember that we have our Golden Eye on them!
Yup. Another jerk republican. Cone of shame. Upside down dead elephant logo.
And yet, 60 South Carolina House Republicans called for Gov. Mark Sanford to resign. Hmm. Didn’t heat about that. Oh well. Must not be newsworthy.
Sorry, I don’t think I’m gonna get worked up over sex scandals anymore, unless I see the standard applied to both sides equally.
Until then its just a tactic to make it harder to keep R’s in their jobs, while the D’s are openly buggering to their tiny little hearts content.
And, at least he honest in his apology…He apologized for the fact that his comments were a distraction. He did not apologize for having the affairs — which I’m sure he’s not very sorry for.
What’s more, unlike Pelosi’s defiant, continued support of Rangel, Republicans nearly always take their members to task and step away from them. Democrats seldom do that.
mike duvall’s sexual bragging, guess in california, it’s the little things that count. hey mikey stop being a jerk and belittling yourself.
Thomas just came here to swoop and poop. He missed the majority of us on this blog who called for Sanford’s resignation at the time, and still do. Serial adulterers get no pass here, dude.
had nothing to do with what I said.
Thomas, you said nothing of value. Your comment is irrelevant and uninformative. You contribute nothing to the discussion. You can’t even distract people as you are supposed to do. You are a very bad troll.
I am not a total prude, but reading the text was bad enough. I do not want to hear the audio of Mr. “Family Values.” I hope his wife is already gone and consulting with her divorce lawyer.
And that my friends is why the California GOP SUCKS.
It’s just about sex. Whats the problem?
The audio has been pulled.
What a disgrace. He broke his marriage vows, his wife should get everything.
cheat on the wife – get the boot; fail to pay taxes – stay on.
And, and, and he hates the Three Stooges, the bastage!
Where are those who claim that Michelle ignores Republican misdeeds now? You’d think they’d be falling all over themselves apologizing. /sarc
ECS
Actually, he’s now claiming that it was all fictional boasting. Hyperbole if you will. Not reversing his resignation, but for his sake I hope he’s telling the truth this time.
That’s sarcasm, right?
Sanford has been pretty well covred here, unless you enjoy eyerolling to the point of injury
.
(I believe the term is ad nauseum )
Liar!
During the Sanford controversy, the Repubs voting for Sanford to resign was covered here, discussed here, and celebrated here. Not newsworthy? Not here. You weren’t clear, dear.
Wow. I would like to see republicans who do bad – and the republicans who do good being talked about. So I must be a very bad troll, says mchristian. Right. Sure thing, buddy.
And sanford has been covered here. And has the 60 republicans who did the right thing also been covered here? To give equal time to the republicans who do the right thing as well as the republicans who embarrass us by their bad behavior? …. Yes? No?
That’s my only question, love2rumba.
Yeah, you’re right. My hyperbole pegged when I was trying to make a point. My bad. I shouldn’t have used one of the lowest forms of sexual deviates for a comparison.
I was actually unsure there were any GOP California Assemblymen left. The funny thing is Duvall might very well have been lying. I think it was Mencken who said to never believe a man’s bragging when it comes to his sexual exploits. That goes double for politicians, of course.
Michelle has mentioned GOP members who have called on Sanford to step down, including the Lt. Governor.
She covered the censure vote as well as the letter that was sent.
It’s all in the Sanford thread.
All of this is a bit off topic. Michelle has rightly criticized Duvall.
And he’s not attractive at all. Some women can be idiots ……
Deep down, they all want the bad boy.
What, he didn’t just switch to the Democrat party and market himself as resume enhanced?
With so many bad boys these days, a gal can/should be Pri T choosy.
No choosing! Soon the government will mandate a public option on that, you know, single player!
Your point is a valid consideration, Thomas.
MM has given positive space to Republicans like Coburn, Pence, and as of late Wilson etc. when they have gone out to challenge Obama since and during the election. The Repubs who are challenging Sanford has been covered-accurately-by other media, and since it already has been covered accurately and with the appropriate depth by others, should she also chime in with nothing different from what AOL, CNN etc. have already done? Would it not be smarter to cover things that CNN, Time etc. aren’t giving enough attention to?
If there has been one gripe I’ve had with journalism regardless of venue is how deliberately over-simplified and often redundant it has been on key issues-that sense that an article has been written by a time-clock puncher instead of someone who really wants to get to the bottom of what is going on and be able to communicate this to a reader who may not have the background immediate to make sense of what is going on such as the Financial Crisis of 2008, and this is why I am a voracious reader of internet blogs and other alternative news sites.
So far if the other media hasn’t covered a topic that might impact a conservative, MM ususally is on top of it.
Come back in six months, follow her columns, and I think you will see she has been fairly even-handed. If Michelle Malkin were not even-handed and thorough about what is happening at the moment, I would have left this site already and her credibility would be in tatters in my mind…This is the best way I can answer your question, Thomas.
Thomas, I did not get your point. I apologize for my rudeness.
