You are getting worked up over a Mercedes c350? What is that? About $35-40,000? Nice car, sure. But with all the suspense, I was expecting a Bugatti.

Nothing surprises me when it comes to a union led by the likes of Stern. I recall an incident back in the 80′s when he was just a corrupt democrat politician.

It seems he bought a first class seat on American Airlines for himself and bought his wife and children economy. After takeoff, his wife snuck into an empty first class seat. She was challenged by a flight attendant and refused to go quietly. The attendant was adamant that she return to her own seat so Mrs. Stern physically attacked the attendant and knocked her into the wall. Stern joined in and participated slightly in the assault.

Like the arrogant bastard he is, Stern raised such a stink with AA that they gave him and his entire traveling party, 6 if I recall correctly, first class tickets to compensate for their trouble.

The flight attendant was furious that the Sterns weren’t arrested on landing in NY but she failed to take into account that she was dealing with one of the most arrogant SOBs in NY politics. Few wanted to cross him.

One question puzzles me, what decent man would buy himself first class and his wife economy? Oh, that’s right, he’s a liberal democrat SOB, nothing decent about him at all.

A lot of them don’t drive American…when it comes time to shell out THEIR money…but they will still push the rhetoric.

Cute Chap. I think the larger point that MM is making is that these union “leaders” don’t follow any of their own rhetoric in their personal life with respect to worker unity (an SEIU leader taking money out of the mouth of an American worker, particularly a UAW worker who is in effect stuck in involuntary servitude to that corrupt union anyway) and not doing what is best for their workers especially in hard times (do janitors drive new model Mercedes? can they afford that?)

Chap….I think the point is that here he is, either driving all the way from Portland Oregon to California or he has his car licensed in Oregon and lives in California and dodges the taxes, he wasted all that fuel [GAIA is crying now...]his carbon footprint is as big as his gut, that car isn’t exactly known for it’s fuel efficiency, it’s not an American car, and what was he doing at a California town hall meeting anyway? Aren’t these the guys that are refusing to talk to people because they claim they “aren’t in their district”?
How much more out of the district can you get?
Or the shorter explanation is no one likes a big fat HYPOCRITE.

    ChristmasGhost,

A real NY democrat in the mold of Boss Tweed. Tammany Hall still lives in the hearts of some of these arrogant politicians.

His right hand man in health care rabble rousing is an old style union lowlife from NY, Dennis Rivera. He headed the 300,000 member hospital workers union.

I worked for Montefiore Hospital for a while when he was head of local 1199 of the hospital workers. At the time, the unionized hospitals had about 40% more non-medical employees with no discernible difference in their level of service. We had an old man custodian who kept our area in great condition. He retired and the union replaced him with 2 young guys who couldn’t even do the job one old man had done.

My department contracted with an outside service to do the job the union guys couldn’t. Rivera was so furious that, during the next round of negotiations, he confronted me, a grunt about 3 levels below where the decisions were made, in a public hospital hallway and started yelling how they were going to get rid of our outside service. Evidently I was working for one of the few departments where management had a set and they didn’t cave in as often happens in these situations.

He’s arrogant, rude, blinded by ambition and a perfect fit with Andy Stern. He knows how to lie with the best of them and hide his true nature when necessary. The linked article describes him as soft spoken but from where I used to sit, he was anything but.
