If the people in his district are so easily swayed by a Democrat with money then they deserve the representation they'll get and everything "The One" and the current Congress is going to do to them. The people in the country need to wake up to the fact that if a politician has a "D" beside his name he/she cannot be trusted to follow the Constitution or represent them in Congress. If they have an "R" beside their name then you can trust them just about as far as you can throw them.

The shills on The View couldn't stop talking about how wrong it was for Rep. Wilson to "scream" at President O. during his speech, including Meghan McCain. Amazingly, it was Barbara Walters who pointed out that Dems regularly boo-ed, shouted down, and screamed at President Bush (something Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg conveniently forgot when criticizing Rep. Wilson). While we couldn't scream at the table, in my Granddaddy's house and my Daddy's house growing up, it was at the diner table that we all often had the greatest debates and discussions about politics. Tempers did get heated, sometimes, but if a flat-out lie was told, someone would invariably point it out. Most of the debate was taken up by my Grandfather (a New Deal Democrat) and my Dad (who -- to my utter shock and amazement - admitted just a few years ago that he was a registered Democrat), but as we got older, my brother and I would join in, as well as aunts and uncles who happened to be there. Ahhhh, the good old days 8) They're gone forever!!!!

Rep. Wilson was right to have done what he did. It is when people sit idly by and do nothing and say nothing that evil is able to advance in this world. The fact that President O. was stopped dead in his tracks by Rep. Wilson's statements, and the utter look of shock and horror on Speaker Pelosi's face (and, interestingly enough, the Vice-President looked like he could have cared less....in fact, he looked like he'd had too much to drink, but maybe that's just my view) are enough to let me know that Rep. Wilson was absolutely right. He never should have apologized for anything. Were I in his shoes, I likely would have done the same thing, minus the apology.

Wilson apologized for being 'uncivil.' He did not take back the substance of what he said.

That is perfectly okay. Apologizing for offending someone or hurting someone's feelings is always a meaningless apology unless it includes taking back the meaning of what was said.

"I would not have pointed out were an ugly mutt if I had known it would hurt your feelings."

I'm glad he spoke out when he did, but I wish he hadn't apologized. We need our representatives to stand up and call "O" a liar, because that's exactly what he is.
