I remember walking up the main stairs from Science class, turning left then walking into Mr. Drummy's History class and seeing a the burning the WTC then seeing a plane smash into the other tower. I will never forget the reaction and silence of everyone in the room. Soon the school fell dead silent.

...It’s a journey that takes us back to our nation’s founding, when none other than a UCC church inspired the Boston Tea Party and helped bring an Empire to its knees.
...RedPill, that quote from Obama's book always ticks me off; that "UCC" church was no such thing when the Boston Tea Party took place; it was a Congregational Church. The UCC wasn't formed until (if memory serves me) sometime in the mid-1800s.

I feel no small measure of ill will for the UCC because of its willful perversion of scripture. My own church was part of the UCC, but left that denomination to become an independent Congregational church once again. It has grown and thrived since that time, while the UCC diminishes, wallowing in its PC perversion.

I lost a friend in the WTC. It's hard enough to lose 1 friend, let alone multiple. I think about the families they loved and the children they didn't get to have - the unseen victims.

I watched Obummer make an insincere stab at caring about 9/11. How could he? He’s an America blamer who’d rather take the hijackers’ side.

I couldn't agree with you more.

And in my opinion, it appears that he and his "family friends" may have done just that... more than just figuratively taken the hijackers' side.

emjem, I will keep you in my prayers. I don't know what it must feel like for you to have suffered so much loss and then to be waiting for your husband to be deployed as well.. That must be very hard for you and your family.

I pray every night for our soldiers because the price they are paying for our freedom is high. It should never be bought and sold by this idiot in the white house who seems to have more respect for the terrorists than for our young people who serve in the military.

I hope that you can find some way to work through your fears and your loss. It's not an easy thing. I recently lost someone very close to me, a young man who died of cancer. I still don't understand why he had to die but the impact he had on the lives of soldiers is evident to me. He was a writer who told the stories of veterans who had fought in the Vietnam war.

I hold that close to my heart and I let God be the one who knows and understands all of these things. I fully trust in Him and try to let go of things that I have no control over. It's a difficult thing to do sometimes. Our president doesn't love people. He doesn't love America. But he's not in charge of the world, despite what he thinks or wants.

You and your husband will be in my prayers. I pray for peace for you. As hard as it is, I pray for Mr. Obama, too.

Tiger Lady:

Thank you so much for your kind words. Everybody forgets that there are still those who grieve, suffer, cry. Everybody forgets that the people who died were human beings, not some act of revenge and terrorism (which was what it was too). My own parents don't know how deeply I grieve, how I loved my friends, how they deeply impacted my life. My own military husband doesn't know how to help me.

I don't really care that a black guy is our president. The office is bigger than a race. I'm not stupid. I won't let some half-hearted PR stunt like the one that Obummer did today snow me and comfort me when I know it doesn't come from a place of sincerity and emotion.

I'm genuinely scared. My husband is in a deployment window for Afghanistan right now. Life can be taken from us so fast. When my cousin was killed in a car accident I never thought I would feel that kind of pain again. Ever.

Those of us who grieve, suffer, cry feel so alone. It will never go away. I even sought counseling but it didn't make it better.

People are too concerned with giving up their liberty to please others, be more PC, and more "empathatic." I won't play that game. I will not make excuses for murdering thugs. I won't let my government devalue this day or think that transfering these murdering thugs over to a state maximum security prison from Guantanamo will change anything.

You can't humanize terrorists and you can't make deals with the Middle East. I wish we had turned Saudia Arabia into glass. They are the originating point of this evil. The Saudis need to take responsibility for it but they won't. Hell, they fund a freaking school in Northern Virginia where they preach wahabbism to young kids.

There are so many egocentric people like Dear Leader who need to get over themselves. They put our country at risk because of their own hubris and selfishness. If you want to make deals with terrorists, feel bad for them, harbor them, this country isn't for you. Yet, so many Americans are cowards, and know they won't have it better anywhere else. So they just content themselves with destroying our country from within.

Terrorist-loving Americans are as bad as the terrorists themselves. They live in our country and we let them. They're not interested in being "Americans" but world citizens.

The world is not America but America is still my world.

emjem24. I'm sorry for your pain. I do not know anyone who died on 9-11 but I remember how violated I felt as an American citizen knowing that these thugs came into our country with a plan to destroy us. They were not totally stopped but the courage of a few people on that day still stand out. I remember how proud I was to hear the charge of "Let's Roll" by courageous people who knew that they were about to die. I still cry when I listen to the tapes of the callers who were sounding the alarm or the one of the man calling his wife to say he wasn't coming home that night.

I agree that many, many people in this country take our freedom for granted. Many have their hands out and whine for them to be filled. We are greedy and selfish and self centered. We don't care much when others hurt as long as it doesn't get too close to us.

We are about to see the consequences of actions by those greedy, selfish and self centered people who wanted to believe that the Liar in Chief is going to give them something for free. I will take to my grave the words of that woman at the Democrat convention who said "I never thought this would happen in my lifetime. I won't have to worry about my mortgage...". Clearly she was thinking only of herself and her situation.

I have a lot of hope that good people who believe in what this nation has stood for will begin to openly oppose this coming oppression by the Alinski crowd. They are haters and they need to be stopped.

We can't do anything about the people who will shrug their shoulders and walk around the problem but our nation was formed on the backs of a few, not the majority. We need to remember today and work to take back our country tomorrow.

This is the most difficult day of my life. Every year that goes by, it only gets harder. I remember my friends faces who died. The families they loved and who will never be see them again.

I often think Americans are too scared to face evil and like their comfortable, little suburban lives where they can pretend 9/11 didn't affect them. Or pretend that voluteerism will ever fill the void on that day.

I watched Obummer make an insincere stab at caring about 9/11. How could he? He's an America blamer who'd rather take the hijackers' side. My thoughts to him are this: if you don't care stop pretending. There are plenty of Americans who know you, and many other Americans, don't give a damn.

I'm beginning to wonder if it's just too late for America. 9/11 didn't bring America together, it just tore us apart even more. Some of us take Islamic fascism/terrorism seriously, and many of us don't. Some of us took into account what gave our lives meaning, and other just moved on in a zombie fog. Some of us used 9/11 as a wake up call and realization that terrorism is a danger and looming threat while others used 9/11 as an excuse to hate our country even more.

The sad things is, that so many Americans don't care. A great article that brings all of this into focus is the one by Patrick Buchanan on Drudge. It puts it all into focus. I highly recommend it.

I will light my candles to remember my friends. I will shed my tears. And, still, people will shrug their shoulders and move on.

I’m beginning to wonder if it’s just too late for America. 9/11 didn’t bring America together, it just tore us apart even more. Some of us take Islamic fascism/terrorism seriously, and many of us don’t. Some of us took into account what gave our lives meaning, and other just moved on in a zombie fog. Some of us used 9/11 as a wake up call and realization that terrorism is a danger and looming threat while others used 9/11 as an excuse to hate our country even more.

The sad things is, that so many Americans don’t care. A great article that brings all of this into focus is the one by Patrick Buchanan on Drudge. It puts it all into focus. I highly recommend it.

I will light my candles to remember my friends. I will shed my tears. And, still, people will shrug their shoulders and move on.

Ditto, Flyoverman.
On this most sad day, I resolve to NEVER FORGET:
Those murdered
Their families
The Policemen and women
The Firemen and women
The Red Cross workers
Those who helped others
The citizens of New York, Washington, DC, Pennsylvania, the nation
The National Guard personnel
The United States Military
The FAA
God bless the USA

To me, Obama's speech this a.m. sounded as strained and deep as Gaylord Focker's "prayer" in "Meet the Parents".
I expected him to add the words to, "Day by Day"!
