The White House shows its 9/11 resolve…

…by painting a living room.

Yes, really.

Here is the commander-in-chief wielding his mighty paint roller,

Notice he’s using whitewash. How appropriate.

Yeah. Like maybe observing a moment of silence on the South Lawn at the moment the first plane hit. Or, like maybe going to the Pentagon in the pouring rain to lay a wreath in remembrance. That jerk should have totally done those things instead.

I guess MM missed the “Service” part of the whole “National Day of Service and Remembrance.” Maybe you think recognizing 9/11 by invoking a sense of civic spirit is a dumb idea, or maybe you just hate Habitat for Humanity. I think it is just a silly partisan cheap shot.

National Day of Service and Remembrance changes the subject.
The subject is remembering what happened that day to all in America, honoring the dead, the thousands of volunteers who came to help and to never allow this to happen again. Making this a day of service takes your mind away from what really happened.
It’s not hard to figure out if one really understands the tragic significance of that day.

I don’t know how the rest of you would like to spend today, but my fondest wish would be to be invited to Vice President Cheney’s place in Wyoming. He would drag out a cooler full of Coors and we would watch a pirated DVD of Khalid Shaikh Mohammed being water boarded 183 times over and over and over until the beer was gone.

The issue isn’t that he was helping to paint a house on Sept 11th. The issue is that this act is a statement of his desire to change 9/11 from a day that we remember the loss of life that took place into a vehicle for his partisan agenda. Further, I believe that even separate from his “Community Service” agenda is his desire to sweep the reality of what happened that day under the rug to appease the muslim world and not offend them with any further mourning on the part of the United States.

That’s what’s offensive about what’s he’s doing. It matters not that he visited the Pentagon.

If I shake your hand then slap you in the face, what the net impact of our encounter?

I can almost see how a Liberal might think that a “day of service” is a way to honor those we’ve lost but are they really so thoughtless that they don’t understand that a significant portion of the public sees it as the opposite?

Those are the choices. Either Obama is so stupid he doesn’t know that a lot of us believe he showed disrespect for the dead and for the nature of this day, or he is intentionally insulting us.

And then he wonders why his poll numbers aren’t wonderful anymore.

Answer: By killing every single one of the people who did it and those who help them.

    BINGO!!

It’s a war. It ends with them with their hands in the air or dead.

    BINGO!! again.

What’s your way Chap? Helping write a legal brief to assist in the trial of the CIA interrogators who broke KSM?

    Must…stop…laughing….

9-11 will always be a day of service to me. I serviced my combat backpack, and made sure my H-harness was in good service too. My body was serviced in the gym to stay strong. My BDU’s, boots, hair, finger nails, and toe nails were serviced, right after I serviced my weapons.

I will never forget. Every Marine Corp day I will always remember 9-11, 1994 Twin Towers, Kobar Towers, USS Cole, etc… all the way back to 1983 when 243 marines were Murdered by the religion of peace.

As a poster called Infidel Alliance stated at PJ media, this is a world war with Islam. If the Belsen school in Russia is any example of what may happen here, I suggest everyone get ready.

Obama is all about “fundamentally changing America”, never mind that most of us don’t want a completely new nation. He is trying to force us to redistribute our wealth and our time to his voting block. I don’t want to give him and his ACORN “peeps” my money or my time… my TIME is valuable. I spend it earning MONEY to pay my mortgage, my bills, my insurance. I pay 50% of my taxes already to the government… that is ENOUGH! I don’t expect I will see any ACORN members showing up to volunteer to paint MY house… which needs it and will have to be done and paid for by me.

This reminds me of when we worked in the Philippines. The First Lady and a bunch of senators and crony types had a luncheon for street children at the Manila Cathedral. White linen tables, gold rimmed china, silver (carefully watched of course). Said dignitaries had a fine photo op of them helping the poor children. Afterword, they kicked the kids back into the streets and went home to their mansions.

Say, isn’t Mrs Obeauty wearing her $500 sneakers in that pic? Perfect.

Service to any cause is only honorable when no one else is looking. This is Won’s attempt, again, to steer the attention away from ground zero, the Pentagon, and that lonely field in PA to center all the attention on himself. You can take it to the bank that if there had been no cameras, he wouldn’t have been there either.
