Kanye West is a jerk, redux

By Michelle Malkin  •  September 13, 2009 10:59 PM

Kanye West — you know, the moron who suffered a Bush Derangement Syndrome attack in the middle of a Hurricane Katrina national telethon — made a fool of himself again tonight.

Aggrieved that country singer Taylor Swift beat out pop diva Beyonce for an MTV Video Music Award, he pounced on stage, ripped the microphone out of Swift’s hands and had a hissy fit on Beyonce’s behalf.

I’m sure he considers himself on par with Rosa Parks now:

***

Rolling Stone reports that Swift was in tears backstage, Kanye West was kicked out of the awards ceremony, and MTV house-band MC “Wale” defended West by saying “you can’t fault a man for speaking his mind.”

Kanye is no “man” and he is out of his mind.

***

Update…

Beyonce shows Kanye what class looks like:

A short history of Kanye jerkitute from Allahpundit here.

Plus: Imagining the prelude to an Obama/Kanye/Swift beer summit…egad.

Since race has been brought up, then lets be fair and treat black atheletes and coaches the same way white atheletes and coaches are treated.

Treat Isiah, Dusty, and Serena the same way Rush, Imus and “The Greek” were treated. In other words-Fire them!

    1) Neither Jimmy “The Greek,” Rush nor Imus were/are athletes or coaches, so I’m not sure how they relate to your prior comment or how the comparison is valid.
    2) Andy Roddick is a contemporary player.
    3) Um…Isiah *was* fired.
    4) Tennis players aren’t “fired” for inappropriate behavior (mostly because they aren’t “hired” to play). They are, as Serena Williams is being, fined.

Dusty Baker (former Cubs coach) wasn’t fired or fined for his comments.

John Rocker (If I recall his name correctly) makes racist comments off the field, is fined for his comments and ultimately loses his career.

Greek, Rush and Imus make comments about black athlets without resorting to slurs and they held to a different standard. BTW-Imus “Nappy headed” comment is the name of a Memphis black owned salon. So if its racist for Imus, then it should be racist across the board.

Hey Kanye, I use VS to saute mushrooms in before putting them on a steak. Based upon this evidence, I imagine that your preference of sparkling wine/champagne is Andre Cold Duck. What a no-class piece of dung.

After a quick check on wiki, I find the following

In August 2008, Kanye West revealed plans to open 10 Fatburger restaurants in the Chicago area, with the first coming in September 2008 in Orland Park. The second will follow in January 2009, while a third location is yet to be revealed, although they are in the process of finalizing the lease. His company, KW Foods LLC, has bought the rights to the chain in Chicago.[88] Kanye is planning to launch his fashion career, applying for internships with major European fashion houses.[89] He is due to release his own clothing line called Past Tell in 2009.

Kanye has also collaborated with Nike to release his own shoe named the Air Yeezys. There colorways have currently been produced and released.

On January 22, 2009, during Paris Fashion Week, Kanye West introduced his first shoe line designed for Louis Vuitton. The line is to be in stores by summertime.

So that means, no fatburger…. no nike …. no louis vuitton …. no past tell

Can anyone add other brands this piece of human debris is associated with?

It’d be nice if MTV just went back to playing videos. The bands from the 80s that have gotten back together for reunion tours owe their existence in most cases to MTV’s 24 hour video playing.

Totally — and that’s the general scuttlebutt on music blogs today. It’s just too perfect. Kanye gets more press for pulling the same tired stunt he always does, Taylor Swift and Beyonce both benefit. This has MTV pr stunt written all over it.

It’d be nice if MTV just went back to playing videos.

This is pure nutiness. I can guarantee you that Obama and Kanye West have nothing in common, and if you were to put them in a room together, the dominant noise would be crickets chirping. You people really are so out of touch with reality it’s like taking a Delorean back in time. You’re so essentialist and reductive. Try getting out a little more.

Obama listens to Kanye West’s music. Jay-Z helped West get into the rapping business, as West helped Jay-Z. He likes rap. Obama said rappers Jay-Z and Ludacris were “great talents and great businessmen.” Rappers are renowned for their swaggerings and gangsta attitudes. Cickets did not chirp when he met Kanye West and Jay-Z, although he did call Kanye a “jackass” in this instance. Obama should call out the filthy rappers in loud and clear ways, but he doesn’t. He wants rap music to evolve to a higher plain. He’s just dreamin’ or he’s latched onto a clever way to avoid discussing the issue.

Strangely enough, I agree w/ NYK, about this being an MTV PR stunt.

Plus, there’s an element of Leftist preaching contained in the incident, a sorta convenient sermon to America on the need for civility, now that GW Bush and the Republicans are perceived by the Left as being safely out of power, that makes the whole event as questionable as the matching red dresses Beyounce and Swift just happened to have waiting for them backstage.

Just look at the parallels between what happened w/ Obama’s speech to the joint session of Congress and what occurred at the VMA’s: While Obama had his parade rained on by Rep Joe Wilson speaking his mind, West aided w/ alcohol (cast as Wilson) rained on the parade of Swift (cast as Obama) by speaking his mind.

It was a set-up. A contrived, teachable moment on civility courtesy of the Lefties at MTV.

No, you don’t. You just think you do and you’ll apparently happily brush all conservatives with that same broad stroke.
