Unhappy anniversary, Charlie Rangel

By Michelle Malkin  •  September 15, 2009 09:12 AM

Yesterday was the one-year anniversary of the New York Times’ call for dirty Democrat Rep. Charlie Rangel to resign amid mounting ethics and tax evasion scandals.

U.S. Representatives John Carter (R-TX) and Steve King (R-IA) marked the anniversary on the House floor — and contrasted the Democrats’ furor over GOP Rep. Joe Wilson’s outburst with their continued silence over Rangel’s corruptocracy.

Rangel, true to form, persists in whining about victimhood — and complaining about the “smear campaign” of the New York Post. “Fairness” means that everyone else should shut up and leave it to the House Ethics Committee foxes guarding the henhouse to investigate his finances:

Liberal WaPo columnist diagnoses Rangel with “Congressional Sclerosis.”

When the NYT calls for the resignation of a prominent Democrat, it either means:

    a) the prominent Democrat is in big trouble.

    b) the NYT has had a momentary moment of clarity.

    c) nothing at all.

    You decide.

Democrat Rep. Charlie Rangel is a liar, thief, flamboyant and a tax cheat-given his district and city that is to be expected from the white Jimmy Walker to the Colorful Man of Colour Adam Clayton Powell.

But GOP Rep. Joe Wilson’s outburst was to the House the bigger crime–he called a Liar a Liar; something not to be done in a den of liars, thieves, the flamboyant and tax cheat. So again GOP Rep. Joe Wilson will not be receiving the ACORN Sleaze Bag Award. Poor Joe.

Oh surely you would not have the IMPORTANT PEOPLE held to the same standards as we mere mortals of the flyover? These IMPORTANT PEOPLE live large on our dime, write laws that only restrict us and otherwise live like IMPORTANT PEOPLE.

Until we vote them out and say “Be gone-and your overly generous pension is gone” it will be thus. May I suggest that as part of the Stimulus Package we build a Congressional Rest Home and Holding facility somewhere in the Yuma dunes? We could give them closed circuit TV so they could make speeches to each other all day long.

Can’t everyone see that this is RACISM AT ITS WORST! Charlie Rangel should “get a pass” on his tax evasion since he is a Black Democrat just “heping out” the poor folks–starting with himself.
    ***
The EVIL IRS should go after some really bad White people–like they did a few years ago when they claimed one of my sons wasn’t really a full time college student 5 years earlier when I legally claimed him as one. Thank heavens for saving 10 years of canceled checks for proof. The IRS wasn’t real “touchy–feely” with me.
    ***
Maybe if this crook were a Republican White Senator “wide stance toe tapping” his way through the airport toilet stalls the Justice Department could find a real serious violation to persecute. Or maybe he could find another non-crime Scooter Libby perjury trap deal to work on. Nothing to see here with Charlie–move along.
