And another pipeline closed off: Jindal halts ACORN funds

By Michelle Malkin  •  September 17, 2009 08:51 PM

Good.

Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal today cut off state funding for the community activist group ACORN.

Jindal has also blocked any state agency for entering into contracts with the organization.

The executive order also cuts off any future state funding of ACORN, on the heels of a series of embarrassing incidents for the organization.

The governor’s action follows a subpoena of documents from the group’s national headquarter office in New Orleans.

According to Jindal’s executive order, “ACORN’s actions make clear that financial involvement with ACORN is contrary to the public policy of the State of Louisiana and the best interests of its citizens.”

Better late than never.

It’s just the start.

We shouldn’t even be thinking about 2012. Anyone who wants to be prez in 2012 needs to step up NOW. Crickets… So far, it’s shaping up just like 2008. Romney is clearly running so Huckabee will do his spoiler routine again paving the way for Pawlenty who will lose to Hillary. Rumor is that Giuliani is planning on running too so hear we go again. Another Assistant Democrat as the GOP candidate.

Our best hope is for Sarah Palin to follow through on her promise to campaign for conservatives of any party in 2010. That would establish us conservatives as a party unto ourselves and render both Democratic parties much weaker. She would then be in a position to impose a conservative platform on the GOP in exchange for her endorsement thus positioning herself as the leading candidate for 2016 or 2020. Or she might be so successful next year as to become the obvious choice for 2012.

In any event, there is no one else but Palin out there doing anything constructive. The priority is to make sure that conservatives win in 2010 at the expense of both parties and then to make sure that the GOP has a change of leadership before 2012 to open the way for a conservative. The threat of a 3rd party is looming already. Could be Palin. It certainly will NOT be Jindal. He is too odd to be a threat.

Of course, Jindal runs a state with a high profile ACORN/SEIU situation, and should he ignore his responsibility here, he would be surrendering much of his power.

Makes sense, though. If you want to keep your power, do the right thing.

    Ooh!

Oh, no…you didn’t just say that!

Speaking of Bobby Jindahl, I don’t think he has the oratory skills necessary to be POTUS. Seriously, that is badly needed. GWBush would have been so much more effective if he could have just “articulabated” his ideas better. Someone needs the ability to get the folks on the side of the right. Obama succeeded because he was a good communicator (at least with the help of TOTUS). We MUST have someone who is not only a committed Christian Conservative, but a very good speaker as well, AND someone who is brave enough to face the nasty, corrupt left wing radicals who will stop at nothing to destroy their enemies. I am praying for someone to turn up soon, very very soon. I don’t think Sarah Palin is the answer either. Too much baggage and too much vitriol out there on her. We need someone fresh who doesn’t have anything that can be dragged out and beated to death.
