Triple-snort-worthy: White House “distances” itself from ACORN

Good thing I wasn’t drinking coffee when I read the Politico headline about Team Obama trying to run away from ACORN:
“W.H. distances from activist group”
Choking. Up. With. Laughter.
Barack Obama can no more disown ACORN than he could disown his own shadow.
He IS ACORN. And ACORN is him. The “accountability” that White House flack Robert Gibbs says they take “extremely seriously” doesn’t extend to Team Obama itself — and the accountability they have evaded for pouring more than $800,000 into an ACORN front group for campaign advance work that was mysteriously re-classified as “get-out-the-vote” work.
As for the ACORN “advisory committee” that will “audit” the group’s illicit activities, I repeat:

I agree, 7thSon. But there’s also the connectedness and trickle-down re:Obama & ACORN. I think bad news (for ACORN) in one area effects things in an overall way; highlighting the “Democrat’s Big Tent Corruption”.
But, as you sez, we do have to go about things from a multitasking point of view.
We grew up NW of Chicago and learned at an early age that dead Democrats not only voted, but did so frequently (and we were in high school 60 yrs ago!) The current mayor of Chicago is RJD’s son. Their faces are like stone – only lips move. The power of the machine cannot be underestimated.

As a retired engineer I certainly understand the need for extreme precision IN SOME CASES.
In other cases “close enough for gubmint work” applies.

As someone who grew up with a (horrors!) slide rule the first step was to get a “ballpark” idea of the right answer and then use the “slipstick” to get 3 digit (0.1 percent) accuracy. If more precision was needed then hand calculation was needed–and it was only done for these cases.

I have seen tremendously high precision calculations done by super computers with very high accuracy. Only problem was that the simulated missile was 20 miles below the surface of the earth–flying backwards at high speed yet!

Most people are basically “analog” one percent type thinkers. I don’t refer to your previous posts by the 6 digit numbers–too much typing for the rocketman. I would have used numbers in the 1 to 1000 range.

You know what would really help here? Sending ALL of our jobs over to China. The reason the private sector of our economy has not created a single net job since 1997 is because we keep orchestrating jobless “recoveries”. The reason for the latter is that we are also outsourcing the very risk capital that fuels the “hidden hand” of capitalism. In the past, we innovated our way out of our problems. Not because we are a superior race but because of our enthusiasm for creating and investing risk capital in our own country. That is almost gone today.
Our “global corporations”, who have no loyalty to anyone or anything, are gutting our economy systematically because Americans insist on making a good living. Financial innovation has replaced economic innovation. Who needs to create better machines when there is an endless supply of cheap labor trapped in oppressive countries like China? This process may have made a lot of wealthy people even richer quickly but behind the mask of what is being presented as “creative destruction” is a leveling of the playing field for global government exploitation. It’s more like razing than leveling. Good-bye middle class. Good-bye freedom.
So what do we need missiles and missile defense shields for? In WWII, we had no reservations blowing up enemy targets because they were enemy targets. Considering how global corporations now own politicians, will be willing to blow up a GE plant in Russia, for instance, while listening to Mark Mobius gushing about investment opportunities in that country on CNBC? Who is “us” and who is “them” today?
That is the real cost of abandoning our respect for national sovereignty. Our leaders no longer seem to care about the US Constitution and national borders anymore. The rights and freedoms defined and protected by our Constitution and contained within our borders are merely impediments for free trade in the new Friedman (Tom, not Milton) “flat world” of fascist capitalism. We may all be digging ditches soon. And as always happens in these “revolutions”, many of those who made it happen will also find themselves at the guillotine. Consider the primaries in the state of Florida.
Analyze why the Democrats initially claimed that they would not seat delegates from Florida.
I believe that the reason was to encourage Democrats to vote in the Republican Primary. There was enough time for them to switch party afiliation and vote in the Republican primary.
Florida was an important win for McCain. In fact, even though McCain had come in 4th place in the Iowa primary just weeks earlier, the victory in Florida allowed the MSM to start repeating the mantra of “McCain is the presumptive nominee…McCain is the presumptive nominee…McCain is the presumptive nominee…”
Also, the MSM lied and claimed that Mike Huckabee had left the state of Florida the weekend before the primary.
That was absolutely untrue, but it created a perception that Huckabee had given up on trying to win the FL primary.
