Triple-snort-worthy: White House “distances” itself from ACORN

Good thing I wasn’t drinking coffee when I read the Politico headline about Team Obama trying to run away from ACORN:
“W.H. distances from activist group”
Choking. Up. With. Laughter.
Barack Obama can no more disown ACORN than he could disown his own shadow.
He IS ACORN. And ACORN is him. The “accountability” that White House flack Robert Gibbs says they take “extremely seriously” doesn’t extend to Team Obama itself — and the accountability they have evaded for pouring more than $800,000 into an ACORN front group for campaign advance work that was mysteriously re-classified as “get-out-the-vote” work.
As for the ACORN “advisory committee” that will “audit” the group’s illicit activities, I repeat:

The best, and totally unexpected side effect from this is that the Democrats are mad because they perceive this to be considered caving in to the right wing.
On one of the democratic sites I lurk on, they were insisting that the FCC should sieze control of all the airwaves, both public and provate, to keep this stuff from spreading.

It would be funny it if there wasn’t such a significant possibility of it becoming reality. All in the name of national security, naturally.
The sign I made for our PHX rally says “FREE BUSINESS ADVICE FOR PIMPS” and “your tax dollars at work” was a favorite of the crowd.
I don’t think anything will happen to ACORN unless this becomes an international incident. Perhaps the U.N. should look in to the willingness of ACORN workers to participate in the enslavement of El Salvadorian girls. Some enterprising journalist should ask Sec of State Hillary Clinton and U. N. Ambassador Susan Rice about this most despicable treatment of Latino girls.
Tip of the iceberg folks. These are not the only slimes that get millions of tax payer dollars for doing worse than nothing. If the spot light gets wider to reveal any more, the next march to D.C. will be in the millions not the thousands.
Coulter would be a good start…with guests, of course.
Back to topic…what’s Obama going to do if and when the day comes that reveals, for all to see, the dark underbelly of organized labor?

I happened to watch O’Reilly the other night when he had Glenn Beck on talking about the Acorn tapes. Glenn made the statement that the Acorn organization was huge and that the bigger picture is that they are working to make fundamental changes in our government. O’Reilly scoffed and asked if Beck really believed it.
Last night O’Reilly reported “we’ve been investigating Acorn”.
Really, Bill, does that “we” include you and the mouse in your pocket.

Everytime I read the latest revelation about ACORN, I think back to this time last year when LGM was telling us that “it is just some voter “registration problems.” Our favorite apologist is conspicously absent on the ACORN threads these days.

And read that as of course we’ll evaluate ACORN, but it sounds like they are doing what we want them to do?

I have not watched him since. Geraldine claims to speak for all Hispanics as JerryBoy Wright claims to speak for all blacks–both lie.
When it comes to Fox News Neil Cavuto has the most comprehensive reporting, Beck is good. Hannity and O’Reilly need to stop trying to be Oprah Winfrey-”how are your hemorrhoids” is not the news we can use.

I want to see more on ACORN’s role of getting McCain nominated as GOP candidate. As one whistleblower said, they were told to get out the vote for Obama and McCain in the primaries.
I understand, b-cat, diff folks have their own ways to keep up and I can see where having the numbers consistently right is helpful.
For me, it’s not much of a problem. I have a pretty good short term memory and excellent memory overall, so I don’t lose my way with a bunch of tabs open. e.g. I remember a key word/phrase (or a commenter’s handle) in a comment thread I’m following, then I just use the find/next starting from the “bottom up” and pickup reading from there. I did that even before the 6 digit comment numbering system came along.
But I don’t know that Michelle has much to do or say about it. Like many bloggers, she uses WordPress and I suspect the numbers thing is a glitch on their end – or as WordPress might call it a “new feature”. i.e. it’s probably part of the WordPress package.
Looks like Bela Pelosi is also trying to run away from Acorn.

Well, sometimes a “mega-memory” isn’t all it’s cracked up to be, b-cat.
On one hand I can amaze people I met once 15 years ago by remembering their names and asking how that sprained ankle healed or if Little Johnny ever did become a doctor like he planned.

I agree, 7thSon. But there’s also the connectedness and trickle-down re:Obama & ACORN. I think bad news (for ACORN) in one area effects things in an overall way; highlighting the “Democrat’s Big Tent Corruption”.
But, as you sez, we do have to go about things from a multitasking point of view.
We grew up NW of Chicago and learned at an early age that dead Democrats not only voted, but did so frequently (and we were in high school 60 yrs ago!) The current mayor of Chicago is RJD’s son. Their faces are like stone – only lips move. The power of the machine cannot be underestimated.
