How many tea party arrests have we seen? For the amount of people who have demonstrated so far, the number has been negligent. The counter-protesters have been worse.

So don’t say your opposition is being uncivil about this, Nancy. One congressman shouts two words during the president’s speech, and your delicate sensibilities are all rattled now. Your method acting needs some polishing. If you’re going to whine about name-calling, look at your own side and at yourself first.

By incessantly repeating the assertion that ObamaCare protesters are trying to silence debate, Obama and Co. disrespect the people who are protesting peacefully. The protesters are exercising a right granted to them in a little something conveniently titled the “Bill of Rights.” Who is trying to silence respectful debate? Not the tea party activists. They just want an actual debate to take place.

The Democrat-controlled Congress wants no debate. They want to pass this thing their way and no one else’s way. They want to pass this quickly because they know that it will not pass after next year’s elections, but in the process they are rushing through a giant piece of junk that will make life tougher for working Americans. Through their haste, it is Pelosi and her allies who are trying to silence the opposition.
