1) Tom Blumer reports on how public school officials in Illinois are following up on President Obama’s education speech with their own attempt to indoctrinate them on the “significant messages inherent in his speech” in order to “educate the whole child.”
Education, after all, is the motor force of revolution.

I would rather task a child to memorize Pi out to 72 decimal places. It would be a more useful allocation of their time.
Everyday my decision to homeschool is backed up by some public school absurdity.
“Fundamentally change America”….this how they will make it last.
All I know is that if this was tried in my son’s school, parents would be storming the doors. One of the benefits of living in an area rife with “right-wing domestic terrorists.” I do feel for parents living in larger or more liberal areas where this kinda stuff flies.

“educate the whole child.” and that has been their goal for generations. Home schooling is a possibility for those who can and will. Getting involved at the local level is important for those areas having independent school boards. That is where the county and state elected officials are often important–Illinois is a lost cause but other areas are salvageable. Hold any Republican candidates to pledge to abolish the Department of Education.
Or you end up like Alameda County, California where the Liberty and Pursuit of Family-Gay and Lesbian Alliance-teach “fairness and tolerance” in the schools and are aided by the county in adoptions. They want the whole child.
We chose private schools-and kept my one good eye on that.

It’s absolutely pathetic that an adult should so worship a politician, any politician, that they need to write a song about it, and then force children to perform said song.
If I ever catch my kids rapping or doing anything resembling hip-hop, they’ll be locked in their room till their 35.

I just was. This kind of thing is more disturbing to me than anything else that is going on right now. Our children MUST be saved!! What school is that??? I need to know so I can contact them. We all need to contact that school and publicize this as much as possible. There is absolutely NO PLACE in a school setting for this kind of indoctrination. What will these kids think when their great president is led to prison in cuffs? Because I believe that is the end result of his corruption and treason.
the teacher, prinicpal, and school board should all be fired and replaced with someone who’ll teach the kids that politics have NO place in our schools and that this is a man not a god to be worshiped as such…sickening just sickening….

Does anyone else remember classrooms with pictures of George Washington, a Star-Spangled Banner on a pole in the front of the classroom, and starting the day with the Pledge of Allegiance? Does anyone else remember .22 rifles in the cloakrooms waiting for their owners to reclaim them so they could go squirrel or rabbit hunting on the way home? Mine are grown, but I have two grandkids, and third due any day. My daughter is a public school teacher, but is resigning. She will home school all the kids. It will be hard on the family, but she has seen first hand the public school system, and will not have her kids there. Period. God bless them!

When Kennedy was shot, we all stood, and the principal led us in prayer over the loud speaker, in our PUBLIC SCHOOL.
When LBJ was pres, we had Civil Defense drills in case of a nuclear attack. First, DO NOT look out the window. Get under your desk, (every one repeat “Duck and cover, duck and cover…). Then we crawled into the hallway, sat with our backs to the wall with our heads between our knees (presumably to kiss our a$$es goodbye).
People who remember this period know why Iran, Pyongyang et al must not have nuclear weapons. Ever. And why the war on terror is NOT an “Overseas Contingency Operation”.

I am so glad the kids are in KS and my DIL is vigilant about what is happening in the school. And blessed that DS makes enough as a trucker to keep her at home with the kids where she belongs.

Are you folks starting to get scared? I am. The pendulum historically shifts between liberal and conservative views in every election wherein the incumbent party is ousted. In today’s America, however, the liberals are seeking a complete and permanent transformation of the republic into a socialist state.
I am not ordinarily an alarmist or conservative radical by any means. I have a post-graduate degree and make a nice living. Yet I see my lifestyle being challenged by the liberal income re-distributors. God help us….

I’m frightened, as a public school teacher, that perhaps instructional time was used for this “project.” Is the class from an under-performing school? Gives new meaning to “no child left behind”…And the teacher said, “I like that!” Great…
Did everyone already forget tha Obama song that a school did where they made a production video out of it? Or the video of the militant black teens doing a military style chant and marching drill espousing the glories of Obama of a few short months ago? And has everyone forgotten how we were mocked by the Lubs and trolls about how paranoid we all are?
What about a couple of weeks ago when we were all called racist and paranoid when we brought up the class programs sent by the White House that was to be used following Obamas FIRST DRAFT SPEECH…the one he was planning on giving had not parents stood up and said they would not stand for their children being indoctrinated in their schools?
We were bullied for eight years with, “are you questioning my patriotism” and it has become, “you are an insane, paranoid, racist”, so that people will be to afraid to speak up and out against this. They learned the words that Conservatives tend to fear having attached to them.
Well that’s all they are…words. And unless you are those things, then you should not fear them. Stand up and make a stand against what is going on. It needs to be stopped now. Saying you could have stopped it but didn’t want to be called names by some patchouli soaked moron is a pretty weak reason to lose your children to the neo-fascists and neo-Socialists.
