More Dear Leader in the classroom: Obamacare propaganda pop quiz!

By Michelle Malkin  •  September 23, 2009 05:24 PM

From my friends at Smart Girl Politics, you’ll love the propaganda quiz that one student brought home from class after watching President Obama’s joint address to Congress on health care.

Here’s an excerpt:

Actually, there are two NEA’s, and they both suck royally.

NEA.org is the National Education Association, which is responsible for the politically correct orientation of our children.

NEA.gov is the National Endowment for the Arts, which takes our tax money and gives it to anarchists, homosexuals, and libertines so that they can buy food and dope while they mock our culture with their “art”.

Huh? That is an extremely misleading question. The correct answer is 0 but I bet thats not what the answer key says.

The coverage may not be what they want but the question didn’t say full coverage for everything under the sun even if you have a preexisting condition.

This is a joke. If our educators wrote this test, no wonder our education system in is disarray. What a bunch of buffons.

Andersen Book Blows Ayers’ Cover on ‘Dreams’

    americanthinker.com

In his new book, “Barack and Michelle: Portrait of an American Marriage,” Best-selling celebrity journalist, Christopher Andersen, has blown a huge hole in the Obama genius myth without intending to do so.

Relying on inside sources, quite possibly Michelle Obama herself, Andersen describes how Dreams came to be published — just as I had envisioned it in my articles on the authorship of Dreams.  With the deadline pressing, Michelle recommended that Barack seek advice from “his friend and Hyde Park neighbor Bill Ayers.”

To flesh out his family history, Obama had taped interviews with various family members. Andersen writes, “These oral histories, along with a partial manuscript and a truckload of notes, were given to Ayers.” Andersen quotes a Hyde Park neighbor, “Everyone knew they were friends and that they worked on various projects together. It was no secret. Why would it be? People liked them both.”

Andersen continues, “In the end, Ayers’s contribution to Barack’s Dreams From My Father would be significant–so much so that the book’s language, oddly specific references, literary devices, and themes would bear a jarring similarity to Ayers’s own writing.”

    More to come!

What evidence do you have to suggest that homeschooled kids are dumber than publically educated kids? Your bias? Or an actual study?

BTW, as a former public school teacher, I’ve seen how much public schools DON’T educate our kids. I’ve seen what happens when dumbed down public school kids enter college and are ill-prepared to undertake college courses. I’ve experienced it as a college student and have even witnessed professors complaining, right in front of me, about how many high school graduates can’t even write, let alone form complete, well-written sentences.

I’ve seen, personally, how public schools have let kids down. How they put them through to the next grade even though they’re functionally illiterate. Try teaching 8th graders Social Studies when they’re at a 5th grade reading comprehension level. Yeah, gosh, that homeschooling looks really bad in comparison.

I’ve already seen some studies that suggest that homeschoolers do better on the state standardized testing and SAT/ACT exams than their public school peers. By all means, provide us with some evidence that suggests that homeschooled kids are “intellectually impaired.”

As a prospective parent and homeschooler (I’m a certified teacher, pal), I’m insulted that you, yet again, put forth a statement YOU cannot back up.

If he wants to open up this can of worms, let’s debate the quality of education received in our public schools by analyzing the lessons being offered:
    Sex Education – check
    Drug Experimentation – check
    Gang/Prison Preparation – check
Violence and Suicide Awareness – check
    Hazing Disciplines – check

Try teaching 8th graders Social Studies when they’re at a 5th grade reading comprehension level. Yeah, gosh, that homeschooling looks really bad in comparison.

I’ve already seen some studies that suggest that homeschoolers do better on the state standardized testing and SAT/ACT exams than their public school peers. By all means, provide us with some evidence that suggests that homeschooled kids are “intellectually impaired.”

I concur. I see the results of public schooling at the college level, and I am not impressed. Maybe “onemonkeysuncle” should ask why colleges have to have remedial subcolleges to get marginally qualified students up to the level of other students? Or maybe he could comment on the death of critical thinking in the public schools, no doubt traded for diversity training and educational equivalency.

As a prospective parent and homeschooler (I’m a certified teacher, pal), I’m insulted that you, yet again, put forth a statement YOU cannot back up.

    Try again.

    He/she has nothing.

Oh, by all means, please do home school your children. That way, companies like mine won’t hire them, and I won’t be stuck working with your intellectually impaired offspring…

Excellent! Even MORE incentive to homeschool. Now I’m really motivated.

One question: why do monkeys and idiots always vote democrat?

For the same reason they throw their feces, no doubt.

Let’s be clear: the video of kids rapping appears to be from that school in Burlington NJ. This quiz hasn’t been linked to that.

If this quiz is real, it had to come from somewhere. Where?

    Indoctrination is far from new!

1998 ~ The jr. high, were I was teaching, had a multicultural assemble on African culture and MLK Jr. Our students were asked to stand and repeat a PLEDGE to the African ideals of family and society. There was NO preparation for this assembly. We were caught off guard and MANY students stood and repeated the words, mindlessly. I allowed my students to opt. out.

I was 8 months pregnant and it solidified (with MANY other incidents) my decision to resign and home school my own children.

BTW principals change failing grades to passing (without teacher approval) to make their numbers look better and receive more Fed. and State money.

I agree, if it’s real, find out where it came from. Otherwise, it will only discredit this movement.

Wow, you morons must have been homeschooled yourselves, because apparently you can not read.

I never said anything about studies on the differences between homeschooled and normally schooled kids grades. I said, specifically, my company doesn’t hire them – because our experience has been that they’re socially maladjusted and in general they tend to have a lesser ability to negotiate, compromise and collaborate, all skills a fast-paced business requires. I’m not at all disappointed that robs me of the dubious opportunity of having to hear at work fact-free opinions like those I see vomited across the MM comment threads all day long…
