Wow, you morons must have been homeschooled yourselves, because apparently you can not read.

I never said anything about studies on the differences between homeschooled and normally schooled kids grades. I said, specifically, my company doesn't hire them - because our experience has been that they're socially maladjusted and in general they tend to have a lesser ability to negotiate, compromise and collaborate, all skills a fast-paced business requires. I'm not at all disappointed that robs me of the dubious opportunity of having to hear at work fact-free opinions like those I see vomited across the MM comment threads all day long...

There was NO preparation for this assembly. We were caught off guard and MANY students stood and repeated the words, mindlessly. I allowed my students to opt. out.
I was 8 months pregnant and it solidified (with MANY other incidents) my decision to resign and home school my own children.

BTW principals change failing grades to passing (without teacher approval) to make their numbers look better and receive more Fed. and State money.

Let's be clear: the video of kids rapping appears to be from that school in Burlington NJ. This quiz hasn't been linked to that.

If this quiz is real, it had to come from somewhere. Where?

What evidence do you have to suggest that homeschooled kids are dumber than publically educated kids? Your bias? Or an actual study?

There is no such data. Quite the contrary, home schooled children consistently outperform their public school equivalents, much as do private school children.

BTW, as a former public school teacher, I’ve seen how much public schools DON’T educate our kids. I’ve seen what happens when dumbed down public school kids enter college and are ill-prepared to undertake college courses. I’ve experienced it as a college student and have even witnessed professors complaining, right in front of me, about how many high school graduates can’t even write, let alone form complete, well-written sentences.

I’ve seen, personally, how public schools have let kids down. How they put them through to the next grade even though they’re functionally illiterate. Try teaching 8th graders Social Studies when they’re at a 5th grade reading comprehension level. Yeah, gosh, that homeschooling looks really bad in comparison.

I’ve already seen some studies that suggest that homeschoolers do better on the state standardized testing and SAT/ACT exams than their public school peers. By all means, provide us with some evidence that suggests that homeschooled kids are “intellectually impaired.”

I concur. I see the results of public schooling at the college level, and I am not impressed. Maybe "onemonkeysuncle" should ask why colleges have to have remedial subcolleges to get marginally qualified students up to the level of other students? Or maybe he could comment on the death of critical thinking in the public schools, no doubt traded for diversity training and educational equivalency.

As a prospective parent and homeschooler (I’m a certified teacher, pal), I’m insulted that you, yet again, put forth a statement YOU cannot back up.

Try again.

He/she has nothing.

Emjem,
This monkey probably doesn't know his rear end from a bananna, much less the statistics on homeschooling success vs. public school success. As a business owner, I would hire someone who's been homeschooled on the spot over a public school-indoctrinated individual. If he wants to open up this can of worms, let's debate the quality of education received in our public schools by analyzing the lessons being offered:
Sex Education - check
Drug Experimentation - check
Gang/Prison Preparation - check
Violence and Suicide Awareness - check
Hazing Disciplines - check
Public Healthcare Speech Studies - check
Feel free to add any that I've missed here.
Yeah, these are certainly the skills I look for in anybody I hire.
