I’m ashamed of this Idiot President. He is Un-American. He does not like, or appreciate America. Well, I don’t like or appreciate him. I hope his power is nuetralized in the 2010 mid-term elections and he becomes a lame-duck, powerless fool for the last 2 years of his one term in office.

He will go down as the worst, and most dangerous President ever to hold office.

Maybe they could teach those endangered mice around San Fran to just ask people what number they were thinking about. Man, you could like double your investment. I mean, for $30 million you should be able to get those mice to do something…

Trying to put this as diplomatically as possible, on the whole black voters had a far clearer understanding of what they were voting for than white voters. White people thought they were voting for Morgan Freeman, the most numinous of numinous negroes. Black people knew they were voting for NWA.

Best of luck, Atheling. Always good to keep learning. My grandfather, back when I was a child, gave me some advice that I will always remember: Learn all you can about the world. You only live once. Also, don’t be afraid to ask the question, “why?”. Asking that question will open many doors to knowledge. I passed that down to my own children, who, though grown now, still go to school, just to learn something new.

No. This is wonderful. In the same way that the 20th century saw amazing achievements in computing, the 21st century could see amazing achievements in biology, medicine, and in this particular case, neurology.

One day we may be able to cure blindness (for example) or repair serious neurological problems. This kind of work plays a small part in that overall big picture.

Medicine has been mostly stagnant over the history of mankind. It’s been a little over 100 years, that medicine has taken off the way it has. The acceptance of the germ theory helped kickstart the discoveries of the 20th century. Much more needs to be learned, though progress seems to be made every day. I know, myself, I spend a lot of my “offtime” reading newsletters and journals, just to keep up. It is an exciting time to live.

I have been doing a slow-burn for awhile, since I met a young veteran of Iraq and Af’stan recently who was badly wounded, along with a few other veterans who were also wounded.

It’s been absolute fury since reading the terrorist-loving jackasses in Washington decided to give $400,000 to Gaddafi.

This young veteran had been wounded by an IED, had a severe TBI, lost a limb and has had several surgeries for other injuries since returning in 2003-2004.
He was in a coma for some time, and if the VA had their way, they would have warehoused him in some nursing home. His wife fought hard for him to get the outside care he needed to be rehabilitated, to the point where he is now able to walk, speak some words (although hard for him due to the TBI) and to a point, care for himself.
They are moving soon, and his wife has been told by their new VA that they refuse to pay for his outside care that has rehabilitated him to the point he is now.
His wife has provided considerable care for him which they are not compensated for, yet the VA refuses to pay a little over $100 a month for this rehabilitation.
The morons running the VA would rather have paid many hundreds per month for him to live in a nursing home.

    No. Common. Sense!

Yet these same lying bastards state publicly they are doing all they can for our wounded veterans.

…and our politicians who were so concerned for our veterans just a couple years ago, now give plenty of money to those with a history of supporting terrorists.

I guess we should consider ourselves lucky we have not yet been forced to pay for our own medical care…

Pray for the city of Pittsburgh:

On Thursday, as President Barack Obama flew over the city on Air Force One and helicopters whirred overhead, some 1,000 anarchists, anti-capitalists and animal-rights advocates gathered at a park in the neighborhood of Lawrenceville to march downtown. Their message? Hard to say. They just knew they were angry, that a new world order was imminent, and that the acronyms (IMF, Nafta, U.S.A.) were the source of all, or at least most, of the world’s evil.

Which isn’t to say they weren’t earnest. Mary Ruth Aull, a retired nurse who has protested since the Vietnam War, cried the moment I asked why she decided to take to the streets. “I’m so appalled at the devastation of our mother Earth,” she said. “Mother Earth is crying out to us.” Her solution? “I would give up everything and live in a cave if I could, if doing that would save the Earth.”

Then there were the Reverend Billy Talen and his partner, Savitri D., the activists-cum-performance artists who run the Church of Life After Shopping. The two were the closest things to celebrities in this nonhierarchical horde. Cheers of “hallelujah” rang out as the Rev strutted by in his polyester white suit and preacher’s collar. He and Ms. D. didn’t propose cave relocation—they already live in Brooklyn—but they handed me a DVD entitled “What Would Jesus Buy?”

Vermin Supreme, a bearded guy with a clown nose and a bullhorn, was another protest veteran. “You can Google me,” he said. “I’m pretty famous. Poor and famous,” the self-described First Amendment-loving anarchist told me. “I’m not a trust funder. I’m not a summit hopper.” No. But he has run for president.

The rest of the crowd lacked the same sense of humor or style: They’ve come a long way from the days of Sacco and Vanzetti, when proper anarchists wore a coat and tie. Faded black T-shirts and jeans are the unofficial uniform, along with bandanas. Some were vinegar-soaked in case of tear gas. (Let’s hope it was Heinz.)

The reporters and cameramen, who seemed to outnumber the demonstrators by this point, ran to get some footage of what everyone had been waiting for: a standoff. On one side were cops sweating beneath their riot gear, scowling from behind their shields. On the other were demonstrators chalking “Be your own boss. Love. Peace. Free Your Mind.”

And in the center of it all was John Oliver of “The Daily Show” on Comedy Central, riling up the crowd like a ringmaster. From all appearances, these anarchists have cable TV. They crowded around Mr. Oliver to answer his questions. Earlier, he had called them “boring and derivative,” prodding them to show more rage. He stood in front of the dour-looking cops: “It’s not your fault guys: You look fantastic!” Then he turned to the demonstrators. “This has been a poor effort children, poor,” he chided the 20-somethings who were drawing a rainbow mural.

Meanwhile, Chris, shirtless and covered in tattoos (skull and bones; baphomet, the pagan goat-god), told me he was here “to address [his] grievances against President Obama.” He wouldn’t elaborate. And Jonathan Weiss, an Oberlin College sophomore, improvised a “song on the riot line,” which he followed up by: “Hey, I’m playing a show this month in New York. Can I add you as a friend on Facebook?”

Then the police marched forward like sci-fi robots, banging their batons against their plastic shields, playing their part. A low chant came up from the thinning crowd: “Disobey your orders. Disobey your orders.”

Will Sherman, a 40-year-old Verizon employee a block away, didn’t have much sympathy for their anticapitalist message: “We wouldn’t be able to stand here and have this conversation without wealth,” he said. “How do they think we get cars and roads and clean water?” He continued: “Do they want to go forage for berries? Or hit up the Giant Eagle [local supermarket]?”

Nonprotesting Pittsburghers can take heart from something else Mr. Carnegie said: “The Socialist or the Anarchist who seeks to overturn present conditions is to be regarded as attacking the foundation upon which civilization itself rests.” Right on, brother.

I think the difference here may be that the VA may have been reimbursed from Medicaid then rather than the cost of his care coming from their own budget…but I am just speculating.

But, if the government is going to use them up and then throw them away over $100 a month for rehab, then I sure hope these good people know it before they enlist.

The government has warehoused wounded vets for a long time. It will only get worse since the government does nothing well except break promises. Just ask a Native American about that.

Lenin and Stalin promised the people “bread, peace and land” as they systematically starved them and stole all their land! Statists live off of making promises they know they won’t every have to keep. And there are lots of people who fall for it every time.

Love the story about the WW II vet.

Back when I was embarking on the adventure of homeschooling my kids, there was an advocate for homeschooling named John Holt. He wrote a book titled, IIRC, Never Too Late (or something along those lines); he was positing the idea that it’s never too late to learn something new – he’d taken up the violin for the first time when he was in his fifties.

That’s pretty much my personal mantra; never stop learning, because no one knows everything (excepting God, of course). ;-)

    The Lie Clock

A man died and went to heaven. As he stood in front of St. Peter at the Pearly Gates, he saw a huge wall of clocks behind him..

He asked, ‘What are all those clocks?’

St. Peter answered, ‘Those are Lie-Clocks. Everyone on Earth has a Lie-Clock.

Every time you lie the hands on your clock will move.’

‘Oh,’ said the man, ‘whose clock is that?’

‘That’s Mother Teresa’s. The hands have never moved, indicating that she never told a lie.’

‘Incredible,’ said the man. ‘And whose clock is that one?’
St. Peter responded, ‘That’s Abraham Lincoln’s clock. The hands have moved twice, telling us that Abe told only two lies in his entire life.’

‘Where’s President Obama’s clock?’ asked the man.

Obamas clock is in Jesus’ office.

He’s using it as a ceiling fan

I never bothered with flu shots until I got the flu–haven’t missed one since but I think I’ll pass on the N1H1 at the moment if offered.

Don’t send the troops into a building or area a shot came from. Call up your tank, cannon, plane, or helicopter and have them blow away the place–like President Bush did during the Afgan war against the Taliban. B-52′s anyone?

The current politically “correct” rules of engagement put our troops at risk unnecessarily. We waste their lives checking out buildings full of terrorists.

One fine point on planning–check out the map or globe first. Afghanistan is a land locked country. Navy cannon shells can not reach the target–unless you can figure out how to float a battleship in a puddle. Their cruise missiles will reach the targets.

When Obama eclipsed Hillary on his path for the throne last year, I stated here that this political situation had a very real “David Dinkins” feel to it.

Dinkins was an utter failure of a NYC mayor from 1990-1994. He was also heralded as the first black mayor of NYC, a racial unifier and therefore, the second coming of Christ. After his successor, Rudy Giuliani’s administration, nobody talked about David Dinkins anymore.

Dinkins’ most notable achievement was effectively dismantling the NYPD’s ability to protect the good citizens of NYC and apprehend the bad eggs. Long story short and a celebrated riot later, a lot of good people got hurt.

After listening to Obama’s performances at the U.N. and in Pittsburgh this week (effectively dismantling the United States’ ability to protect the good citizens of the world and apprehend the bad eggs) I continue to predict a similar result for the Obama Administration…a lot of good people getting hurt.

I was not impressed with 2 nurses in ICU…the charge nurse who checked me did not even tell me the nurses call button on the side boards of the bed did not work, had to use the hand piece to call them…grrrrrr. I waited for over 2 hours to get help not knowing this little item. The other nurses in ICU were great and tried to do everything they could to make me as comfortable as possible under the circumstances.
In SCU the nurses(rn’s and cna’s), the dr.’s, phlebotomists, maintenance (cleaning), all were great. I got the impression they loved doing what they do for a living due to helping people in need, certainly money has to be a factor. What ever their motivation I was glad they had it.
Without going into detail, this is the scary part of what put me in the hospital. 4 Dr.’s, that’s 2 surgeons and 2 hospitalists(Internal Med.) did not know what caused my problem, nor did they know exactly how to cure it other than N/G tube for 6 days to decompress my stomach and my body making the necessary changes to heal itself. Dr.’s told me it just happens and generally it never happens again… wheeeew…Lord I pray not…most miserable 7 days of my life, without a doubt, 2 days weren’t so bad, I knew I was going home to my best pal and friend, Rufus, my dog.
I have absolutely no problem with America’s health care. I tell my Rep. and Senators 2 or 3 times a week…”Keep Your Hands Off My Health Care”. Of course their dyed n the wool lefties, one is up for re-election next year, I believe he’s heard the sleeping giant waking.

The problem, I hear, isn’t that there is cost-cutting, as much as there is a shortage. Too many older, experienced nurses are quitting/retiring, and not enough new nurses coming in to replace them. There seems to be a shortage of schools, and especially instructors, to cope with all the students who want nursing degrees. Waiting lists seem to be the norm. To help with the problem, some foreign nurses are being imported in, to help. This seems to be for RNs. I don’t know about the LPN programs. I will say I have known some LPNs, I would rather work with, than some RNs. They seem to be more patient-oriented, rather than ladder-climbers. My experience.

Netanyahu’s speech was fine, but Mark Steyn’s comments given below are well worth considering.

The day after the president of the United States addressed the U.N. General Assembly, the prime minister of Israel took to the podium, and held up a copy of the minutes of the Wansee Conference, at which German officials planned the “Final Solution” to their Jewish problem. This is the pathetic state to which the United Nations has been reduced after six decades: The Jew-hatred of Ahmadinejad and others is so routine that a sane man has to stand up in the global parliament and attempt to demonstrate to lunatics that the Holocaust actually happened.

One sympathizes with Benjamin Netanyahu. But he’s missing the point. Ahmadinejad & Co. aren’t Holocaust deniers because of the dearth of historical documentation. They do so because they can, and because it suits their own interests to do so, and because in the regimes they represent the state lies to its people as a matter of course and to such a degree that there is no longer an objective reality only a self-constructed one. In Libya and Syria and far too many “nations,” truth is simply what the thug in the presidential palace declares it to be. But don’t worry, Obama assures them, we’re not “defined by our differences.”
Hey, that’s great, isn’t it? Yet, if you can no longer distinguish between the truth and a lie, why be surprised that the lie metastasizes and becomes, if not yet quite respectable, at least semirespectable and acceptable in polite society?

Thought I would watch some tv the other day. Looked at the schedule and saw Obama pitching healthcare on ABC,
    Obama talking healthcare on NBC,
    Obama debating healthcare on CBS,
    Obama on Univision promoting healthcare.
Threw the schedule away and turned on the set.
Saw an America-hater giving a speech at the United Nations.
He was followed by the leaders of Libya, Venezuela, and Iran.

No one wants to work health care in New Zealand because the hours and money are terrible. I grew up in NZ and things have only gotten worse since then. Just make sure you don’t have any emergencies between the hours of 6:30pm and 8am!

Now THAT is creepy!!! To think that this administration is working very hard to stifle the free speech of its own citizens by intimidation and yet this kind of hate speech is fully accepted…well, God is watching, and He is not happy. This won’t end well…especially for the people on the wrong side.
