When the White House announced plans for the president’s nationwide address to schoolchildren two weeks ago, worried parents were dismissed as “kooks.” We pointed to the subtext of “social justice” activism rampant in American classrooms. It’s time for a big, fat Told You So.
Out of the spotlight, politicized lessons continue to supplant core academics.
At the B. Bernice Young Elementary School in Burlington Township, N.J. earlier this year, schoolchildren were instructed to memorize a paean to Barack Obama. A video uploaded to the YouTube account of Charisse Carney-Nunes, author of the children’s book “I Am Barack Obama” and a self-described Harvard Law “schoolmate” of the president’s, showed students lined up in the auditorium snapping their fingers and chanting in unison:
Mmm, mmm, mmm, Barack Hussein Obama
He said all should lend a hand to make the country strong again
Mmm, mmm, mmm, Barack Hussein Obama
He said we must be fair today, equal work means equal pay.
Mmm, mmm, mmm, Barack Hussein Obama
He said take a stand, make sure everyone gets a chance
Mmm, mmm, mmm, Barack Hussein Obama
He said red, yellow, black and white, all are equal in his sight
Mmm, mmm, mmm, Barack Hussein Obama
Yeah! Barack Hussein Obama
…Hello Mr. President, We honor you today
For all your great accomplishments, we all do say hooray
Hooray, Mr. President you are No. 1
The first black American to lead this nation
Acknowledging the historic nature of Obama’s presidency (“the first black American”) is one thing. Deifying him with creepy spiritual references (“red, yellow, black and white, all are equal in his sight” is cribbed from the famous hymn “Jesus Loves the Little Children;” cheering “you are No. 1”) is quite another. Burlington Township (NJ) school officials said Thursday the recording and dissemination of the video was “unauthorized,” but acknowledged that the Obama praise session was part of the students’ official curriculum.
Carney-Nunes’s Obama book was on prominent display during the students’ performance. It is a tool, she says, that “allows children to see themselves through the inspirational story of President Obama growing up as an ordinary child asking, ‘Who will change the world? Ultimately, he realizes that he will.’” Seeing everything through the lens of Obama, as his incessantly self-referential United Nations speech demonstrated, is a trademark of the perpetual Obama campaign.
This O-cult lesson is exactly the kind of junior campaign lobbying activity that White House officials planned around the president’s education speech. Alert parents and administrators called out the Department of Education’s activist, Obama-centric education manuals before the event. Federal officials altered the language. Obama delivered an innocuous speech. But on cue, education radicals goaded students to engage in political activism.
White House and Hollywood moguls launched a “Get Schooled” initiative this month with Obama that urges students to lobby for higher teacher pay and to embrace the rallying cries “Know Your Rights” and “Change the System.”
At the New Trier High School in Northfield, Illinois, educators followed up on President Obama’s address with a 45-minute “extended adviser” discussion last week to explore “the significant messages inherent in his speech.” Illinois writer/blogger Tom Blumer reports that “parents were not informed on a timely basis as to what was going to happen, and were given no specific instructions on how to have their child opt out of the ‘discussions.’” The school’s principal and assistant principal sent out suggestive questions focused on Dear Leader’s Do Something missives:
* Why do you think President Obama listed the responsibilities of teachers, parents, and the government before discussing your responsibility for your education?
* What are you “good at” and what do you have “to offer” your family, friends, and community?
* In the speech, President Obama spoke of some of the steps of Effective Effort. Identify them, using direct quotations from the text to support your assertions.
* Respond to President Obama’s final questions for you: “What’s your contribution going to be?…”
In addition to radical White House Teaching Fellows like Chicago high school educator Xian Barrett (an outspoken charter school foe who founded a “Social Justice Club” and bussed students to protest) and Michelle Bissonnette, a Los Altos, Calif., teacher who is “focused on developing my leadership as a more culturally and racially conscious educator,” the White House has embraced controversial homosexual rights’ advocate Kevin Jennings as “Safe Schools czar.” Jennings founded the controversial GLSEN (Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network), which aggressively pushes sexually explicit, age-inappropriate books and lesson plans on alternative lifestyles.
Lost in all the chanting for change is the core commitment to impart actual knowledge. For progressives in the Age of Obama, setting high academic standards is secondary to the self-improvement of the “whole child” and “service” to the cause of social justice.
Out: Readin’, writin’, and ‘rithmetic.
In: Rappin’, revolution, and radicalism.
Mmm, mmm, mmm.

Michelle, awesome column. Your column about sums up what has gone wrong in public schools but even more importantly, what many education programs across the country are teaching prospective teachers these days. Teaching is no longer about educating kids but indoctrinating them in being a victim and how to be more sensitive and socially conscious.
It is no wonder that our schools are behind the rest of the world. We teach out of out-of-print textbooks, continue to tinker with curricula that barely even scratches the surface of subjects such as Math, English, History, and Science. Our education system actively feeds this penchant need to be subservient and submissive to social causes because it’s now too radical to be educated and prepared to be an independent-thinking, well-informed adult (except if you’re the right sort who “deserves” to go to places like Harvard).
We’re a country that no longer prizes education. We continue to tinker, to dally, to make a gesture at making education a priority but in the end, it’s just a lie. We’re no better off education-wise than we were in the 70′s. Thank the likes of Howard Zinn and his ilk for that.
The sad truth is that our education system pops out stupid, submissive, guilt-ridden robots who can’t think for themselves and consequently find that they’re not as special as once advertised in school. Kids no longer want to be scholars or even thinkers. They’ve been brought up in a world of the last resort and the cheat. Our kids are being told that education is a loyalty test and if you want to succeed, you’ll dance “their” tune and only “their” tune.
As a former teacher (and I say that with much regret), I am deeply disturbed by the Obamaization of our schools. This kind of behavior isn’t healthy and it doesn’t even begin to define what patriotism is and isn’t. Obama isn’t America and America isn’t Obama.
Any conservatives that allow their children to attend government schools are immoral hypocrites. We should all be unwilling to allow the indoctrination of our children by these ruthless thugs.
Barack Obama isn’t just a man, he’s a musical genre.
The left has been indoctrinating our kids for decades. They’ve just gotten more blatant about it now that they think there’s nothing we can do to stop it. Uninvolved parents only enable them. Not everybody can afford private schools, not every jurisdiction has charter schools, and not every parent can homeschool – but those who must use the public school system can and should be involved as much as possible.
Too many parents are sitting back and watching as their children get turned into blind radical followers. Unfortunately, blind radical followers are always considered expendable by their radical cult leaders.
I am reminded of those “Jaywalking” episodes on the Jay Leno show. He asks people on the street easy questions and then ridicules their responses. Some of the blank looks he gets are scary. Someone who can’t even name the current vice president of the U.S., yet is on a college campus studying to become a teacher! And when shown the video, the audience laughs! Some of the people who are interviewed laugh at their own stupidity also. Wake up America!! Stupidity is no laughing matter, and we are being destroyed from within. The radical left are sneaking their propaganda into our schools and have been for generations. They know that if they are “found out” there will be an outcry. Why? Because NO ONE WANTS THIS!! The only way they can get away with this TREASON against the United State of America is to SNEAK it in. I’ve got new for you a$$holes. You are about to go down!!! The truth is coming out, we are angry, and you will soon be toast. This is a huge corrupt movement and won’t go down easily. But just watch what happens when Mother Bears find out their cubs are threatened. You don’t want to mess with Moms…and Grandmoms. I would take a bullet for my grandkids and I would also defend them by any means necessary.
Oh, really? Or perhaps we are the ones who are actually taking the time to teach our children how to deal with all the liberals they will meet in life. I have two kids in public school, both conservative/libertarians that actually think for themselves.
That comment I quoted of yours is assinine.
Bruce, thats a little harsh don’t you think. My kids go to public school, but I have taught them not to believe everything they hear, and to question their teachers. They now know when they are being taught something that doesn’t sound quite right, and they always let me know. Not to mention that they know I will be the first person to back them up when a teacher gets out of line. Believe me I would prefer to send them to a private school, but that is not an option for us. So they have already learned at 12 and 15 how to deal with liberal teachers and friends, and I think that is a pretty good thing.
Hmmm I suppose if one takes a work on the thankfully defunct Soviet Union’s “education” of its children, do a global search and replace using Stalin as the search word and Obama as the word to replace it with, we’ll have a futuristic look on “education” here.
These cyrpto-Bolshevicks need to have the harsh sunlight of truth shone on them and Obama and Obamaism needs to be throughly repudiated and discarded in 2012.
This is even creeping into the Disney Channel no less. Kiddie-PC extreme.
James Greenidge

Cut the crap, Bruce. That is nuts. And the statement is so judgemental, it makes my blood boil.
I have been warning about the evils of communism for about five years now. This is it. The people must reject this trash in 2010 or face torture, extermination and loss of family.
The part of the article about New Trier High School struck me because I had a number of fraternity brothers who attended that high school. Indeed, one was a Navy Seal who retired after about 25 years in the service. The school is in an extremely affluent North Shore suburb of Chicago. I don’t doubt many liberals are sending their kids there, but I continue to think that much of this is going on because parents are asleep at the wheel.
Time to wake up and realize that we’re being undermined from within.
THAT is very true! I, too, hope they wake up and take an active role in preparing their kids for the fight for freedom.
Yep!!
It’s no mistake that William Ayers, and his wife, Bernadine Dorne, who are proved American terrorists and communist revolutionaries, have become so-called “educators” and have embedded themselves into the process of turning our public schools into indoctrination centers. Ayers was and remains Obama’s neighbor, friend, and colleague. He also ghost wrote “Dreams Of My Father”. They are the puppet masters in the shadows behind the current President.
This is a methodical, intentional take over of the United States, by communists!
You don’t have very much longer America!!! Wake The “F” UP!!!
Even questions for SAT prep are slanted toward the liberal view. Global warming questions are always the lefty view. Ever wonder what is on all those standardized tests the kids are given year after year? No wonder math and english scores don’t go up much, since the schools waste time on these projects. Not one administrator should defend this as appropriate for school children.
Up next…”one nation, under Obama with liberty and justice for all his comrades”
Seriously though…my kids have been going to public schools for many years and I haven’t heard of any indoctrination type activities. Just because a couple of progressive wackos in the Northeast decided to hold an indoctrination session doesn’t mean that the public school system is going there. The Superintendent of that school system made a huge mistake when he decided to criticize the video instead of the conduct of some of the teachers. It’s up to the people of that district to correct that problem and I’m sure that they will. I watched some parents of those kids last night and they weren’t happy with it.
This is the sort of thing done in Communist Russia, and Communist China, and Communist North Korea, and Communist Cuba, and Communist…..
If Obummers mom was white and his dad was a mutt, wouldn’t that make the man half white not black? I know, I am racist!!!
Also, is he not second to Clinton in claiming to be the first black POTUS?
Oh, there is a new history class curriculum as well. “We will teach you what part of history you need to imagine.”
Nice column Michelle. Too bad your books/lessons/journalism will never reach the masses in the indoctrination rooms. The kids would learn something like – oh say – thinking for themselves.
“Red and yellow, black and white, all are precious in His sight”…we sang that in Sunday School almost 70 years ago! It referred to Jesus. Reading how this phrase has been co-opted makes me sick and very, very angry.
My job is in a very liberal workplace. So many people I work with are angry and amazed that anyone would complain about this. They just say that it is so wonderful to have Obama instead of Bush and that there is NOTHING wrong with teaching children about how fantastic it is to have Obama as our leader. They say that it is RACIST that people are complaining…which of course shuts down all discusion.
I tell you, I think we are going to have to embrace being racist. Staying on the defense all the time isin’t working….

Saturday, September 27, 2008. Join Charisse & Harvey in Alexandria, VA at a voter registration rally. Brand Nu Sound (DJ Harvey) will serve as the MC, providing music, sound and good times for all. The event will take place at John Adams Elementary School. Black Women for Obama, the Alexandria Democratic Committee, Ethiopians for Obama and others will co-sponsor.
But for now, my attention is diverted. You see, there’s this guy I know from law school who is running for president, and I am really working hard to see that he wins!
I have received so many emails and calls from friends worried about the campaign. Did you think it would be easy? But we CAN do this. Yes, WE can. Power concedes NOTHING without a struggle. We must remain steadfast and strong. One of my favorite quotes is Frederick Douglass’s “Agitate, Agitate, Agitate.” WELL FRIENDS, WHAT WE’VE GOT TO DO IS “Register, Register, Register.” It is estimated that there are 300,000 African Americans in Virginia not registered!! I understand that there are just as many if not more in North Carolina, Georgia, etc… And it is not just African Americans; an estimated 34% of the American population is unregistered. If you live near Virginia, work in Virginia. If you live in or near Pennsylvania, Ohio, Florida, North Carolina … go there.
Everywhere you go, every conversation you have, ask people if they have registered and checked their registration lately. Put an end to the relentless 24-hour news cycle. We can’t control that. Comb the internet, get pdf’s of applications for voter registration in your state. Sign your family members up to receive absentee ballots if need be. Encourage people to engage in early voting if possible. Barack has an online one-stop-shop where you can register, check your registration, get an absentee ballot or engage in early voting if applicable.
We are so close to witnessing history in our lifetime. So many of us never thought we’d live to see the day. And if we do not do OUR PART now, we’ll lose this chance, and it likely won’t happen again for another lifetime or two. Won’t you join me?!

Perhaps, now, more parents will pay attention when we say that the public education system is screwed up.
Unless they like it this way. You never know…
No kidding. History repeats itself, especially those parts of history that are NO LONGER TAUGHT. But the left knows all about it and how effective it is. They study at the feet of the best propagandists of the world.
black history month my butt…if this is so then let’s see if the teacher has the kids singing praise to Chavez or Castro for the upcoming Hispanic Heritage month…bet that doesn’t happen…
History (if we get one) will prove the folly of this present age. But for now, we suffer.
I have found that our grandchildren (both in Middle School)are speaking out to some of the other kids when liberalism rears its ugly head. I have kept them informed, and we discuss what is right and what is wrong.
I can’t afford private school, or to home school. So we fight back as nicely but as specifically as we can.
Can you imagine the reaction if a video had appeared with children singing praises to George Bush?
This “government” has to be thrown down now. State legislatures and Conservatives in Congress have got to get together and devise strategies to hamstring this beast. The Founders never envisioned having to counter domestic enemies of this nature. We need citizens and leaders who will – God help us to fill the role.
Where are the investigations into ACORN funding, illegal campaign donations, Congress’ and Soros’involvement in the the Sub-Prime Crisis, Pay For Play? Nothing in that regard has happened. This is basic stuff. What happened to the “pitbull” Patrick Fitzgerald? Dude has disappeared. We are being bullrushed, blitzkrieged into defeat by dedicated communist apparachiks.
This is clearly a concerted and well-funded communist coup against our constitutional republic. They have a formula that works – control of communication/media outlets, schools, nearly all instruments of state and federal government, and limitless funding from Soros front groups and other anti-American communists.
Their arrogance and hubris are so great because they have no fears of repercussion, yet they seem to be anticipating a 2010 setback which explains their insane aggressiveness now. The People need to instill some fear in them, but quick.
Good for you! You have found a profound purpose in life! Carry the torch to the next generation, especially those you love.
Slightly off topic (but not really): Obama’s presidency lasted only a nano-second…with lightening speed he moved to dictator-in-charge.
That would have to come from the DOJ. With all the great legal minds who frequent Michelle’s blog, somebody answer something for me…
How can the guilty prosecute the guilty?
So what did they sing during the Bush years…“You are a turd, George Bush”?
I find myself thinking how irrational it is to believe that The Won is setting the stage to be dictator-in-chief. Then I open my eyes and know this is not irrational at all. This man and his ilk are dangerous.
I think it’s why you see the arrogance of his czars and groups like Acorn and SEIU. They believe he will be the future “forever”‘ president of the US and no one can touch them. Glenn Beck pulled up the shades on that little scheme…..oh, and O’Reilly. (/sarc).
We’d better start making our voices heard as the majority in the country. Three more years of this dolt is about all I can take.
I regard BarriO NOT as #1, but #2.
They create good little taxpayers, smart enough to make an income, but not smart enough to think critically.
Thank you jjmurphy. My reply was not going to be as diplomatic.
The real mind-numb robots.
Dolts.
In another era in our Country’s history, an era of patriotism in our schools; not rampant anti-Americanism, this might have been joyful to watch. But in an era of toxic partisanship, along with a media that would make North Korea proud, and schools infested by liberals, this is indoctrination, plain and simple. You tell me what a 5 year old knows about “equal work for equal pay” issues??? We live in dangerous unprecedented times.
Jesus loves the little children
All the children of the world
Red and yellow, black and white
They are precious in His sight
Jesus loves the little children of the world.
I sang that song over 60 years ago and still remember it well. How DARE they steal it for such evil propaganda!
I saw Obama on TV this a.m. He was walking out of some room with his wifey next to him. Someone made a comment and he grinned and said something about appointing the man “czar of awnings” or something like that. He looked so arrogant, I almost lost my breakfast. It was so obvious he feels untouchable and he is laughing at all of us.
OT- Hey Michelle, check this out!
It’s a godlessness thing. No shame, no moral compass.
Consider it getting the middle finger.
There is no greater pig around than Al Gore. His net worth has sky rocketed to $100 Million, (from 2 million in 2000) selling his junk science called man made global warming. His arrogance has also increased exponentially, if that is possible, with his Nobel Peace prize. This boy fashions himself the most-important-human-being-alive, sent from the Lord above to save all of us peasants from ourselves. He wants us all to save the planet and live in tents, while he lights his 10,000 sq foot mansion nightly. If there is a “hypocrite of the century” award, he is already the hands down winner.
Yes…if Gore is involved, it is most certainly corrupt. Another spit-worthy scumbag.
I guess this should vindicates all of those who CLEARLY UNDERSTOOD the role and relationship WILLIAM AYERS (the-behind-the-scenes education czar) had with Obama before the election and were called nutters.
It’s all about the “CHILDREN”
General Communist axiom: An ignorant populace is a compliant populace.
Rogue, thanks for the link. How on earth can an average working American afford a car that sells for $89,000? The idiocy of Albore is amazing but not more amazing than the idiots who buy into his schemes.
Amazing doesn’t begin to cover it.
Bruce, that kind of comment is counterproductive.
As someone who homeschooled my kids all the way, it’s pretty obvious that I support homeschooling. But not everyone can or should homeschool, nor can everyone afford private school tuition – and while homeschooling can be done on a tight budget, it isn’t free by any stretch of the imagination.
But the key always was and is parental involvement. An involved parent isn’t going to let these kinds of things pass; as jjmurphy pointed out, an involved parent teaches children how to think for themselves.
One of my proudest moments was when an adult, who IMHO was overstepping his authority, became annoyed when one of my kids questioned him (politely) on something. He snapped, ‘Do you always question authority?’ And my kid’s response was along the lines of ‘When necessary.’
I told him later that we come from a long and proud tradition of those who’ve ‘questioned authority’, like the Pilgrims and those who fought for our Independence.
And we’re not about to stop now.
Gee, sure hope the ‘green’ car maker isn’t using and fossil fuels or the like to make his $89,000 car.
and yet you have people on this blog condemning Joe Wilson for his “outburst” when he calls out The Won for his lies. He did not follow decorum. Idiots!!
I feel the same.
And it’s particularly egregious since the original words would not be permitted in a public school setting.
Obama should long ago have put a stop to this cult of personality. But he won’t, because he obviously thinks that he really is all that.
How does the line from the Ten Commandments go?

You are correct. That is the reason why obladah is currently at the wheel, and dems control both houses. Wake up, America. We own the public schools, don’t we?
Those of you who believe that your child won’t fall victim to the incessant brainwashing in the public schools because you continue to remind them to think for themselves are in for a rude surprise. You can’t match the brainwashers hour for hour, peer pressure for parent pressure, ad infinitum. It’s not just the overt lessons, it’s what they reward and ridicule. It’s what the “cool kids consensus” says and what’s considered the norm.
Parents, you are simply outgunned in that fight. Sure, you can keep it under limited control. Through middle school, and maybe through high school. But by about their second year in college, they’ll come home one Thanksgiving and you’re going to be spewing stuffing when you hear what opinions they now openly express.
Save your kids now. Get them the heck out of the public indoctrination system.
***
HI EMJEM24–Thank you for your work as a teacher–no need to feel sorry for your work or career choice. You have probably affected a lot of kids lives for the better. I remember most of my teachers as good honest people who were impartial and taught us a lot–I still think of the good ones at times.
***
I attended my first (and last?) 50 year High School reunion a few weeks ago. In the 1950′s we still studied a lot of history, government, and hard sciences / math. The teachers prepared me very well for university and a good career as an engineer.
***
I did see the “dumbing down” of some of my kids schools–but more than half of the teachers were still “old school” and did a pretty good job with them.
***
Many thanks to the good teachers still doing the job properly.

Excellent point!!! Illustrates perfectly the mind set of the secular progressive; replace God with man. The State over God. Indoctrinate. Disgusting.
Well said, my friend!
Excellent commentary, Michelle. This manipulation of innocent children goes far beyond the understandable acknowledgment of the first black president.
After making great achievements in public office and retiring gracefully, only then are our country’s leaders traditionally revered in any similar fashion. The passage of time, the cooling of passions, and the scrutiny of historians provides the best judgment on our leaders. Anything before that time flirts with propaganda.
Can anyone explain to me what’s so awful about this (preferably without brining up Communist infiltration)? These don’t appear to be liberal ideas, or perhaps that’s just me.
Excellent column Michelle. This is a perfect illustration of the fact that these liberal “educators” care nothing for the welfare of the children in their charge, their only goal is to indoctrinate and advance their radical agenda. No wonder Obama praises the public school system (the only thing about the USA he seems to approve of), it just churns out dumbed down O-minions.
The principal and all teachers involved should already have been fired on the spot.
If they are not the Superintendent should go and the entire school board voted out.
In case you missed it, Obama’s speech that appeared in the schools was the second, “cleaned-up” version…you know, plan B, that he was forced to resort to because we were on to him. They tried to sneak his speech into the schools by telling the school districts about it just a week ahead of time. They hoped no one would notice. When we did, they had to change their tactics. Then, they made sure to tell everyone that we were extremist alarmists for complaining. Typical Alinsky tactic.
By your response, I gather that there’s nothing wrong with the quote. What’s wrong was the supposed “other” speech that Obama planned to give, of which no one has any idea what it said since his speech was not released until the day of (I think you’re actually referring to the original lesson plan).
How the heck should they know? They’re in grade school, and our government is changing all the rules for the grown ups. The world they’ll be grown ups in won’t look anything like this one if Obama has his way.
Sheesh…everything about this guy gives me the creeps.
Photos from the G20 Pittsburgh Protest, from the scene guest blogger “Terrible Towel. I am going to try and update through the day as I get the pics.
Well, not necessarily.
More like No. 6.
Obama is descended from both black and white ancestry. There are five previous presidents (according to Dr. Leroy Vaughn) who fit that bill:
1. Thomas Jefferson
2. Andrew Jackson
3. Abraham Lincoln
4. Warren Harding
5. Calvin Coolidge
While we’re on the subject of questionable firsts, how about Sotomayor not being the first Hispanic Supreme Court justice (the first was Benjamin Cardozo)?
BO is sure to be revealed a fraud in more ways than we know. Still think the dual citizenship issue is dead? Guess again.

Well from Obama’s established POV, when he asks “What is your contribution going to be?” he is asking what your contribution will be to his vision of a socialist/communist/fascist America.
He’s certainly no friend of freedom – you know, doing what you want because you want to do it.

I am sick and tired of every fracking liberal throwing “race” in to discussions about Obama. For over forty five years, I have maintained the idea that WE are Americans, not white Americans, black Americans, etc. I have also ridiculed others who have a base need to hyphenate their names, or heritage, all in the name of equality.
But, N-o-o-o-o-o! We are now reminded by a “black” administration, “black” leadership, and “black” apologists, that all those segregationists in days of yore…you know, those “white” racist supremist slave owners, were right. There is a difference between white and black America.
White America believes in the rule of law, and equality, although there are some that still harbor animosity towards other races. As a majority, white America believes in an even playing field.
Then comes the black American radical…new-to-power, “destroy the white man” mentality, race allegiant, black power base, apologists for criminal activity in the black American political system. I thought wrong was wrong, and crime was crime? What has happened, America?
When is enough, going to be enough? The liberal side of the political tree has enabled, encouraged, and enraged the black community, by social engineering, mis-education, and now by the transferrance of the hard-earned wealth of many, to the lazy deadbeats who MUST blame white America for all the World’s woes.
I challenge anyone to point out just one nationally elected BLACK official, or Obama appointee, who is not racist, socialist, elitist, or who has a history of criminal associations (proven or not). I cannot recall the last time I heard a black American official praise America for what it is…a giving, compassionate, generous country. One that truly cares about the equality, freedom and liberty of all of God’s children.
I don’t know where you live, but here in Utah the vast majority of teachers in the public school system are very conservative. Many are more so than even me…and I am right of Atilla the Hun……
Your statement is generalized and, frankly, stupid….
The goal of an effective teacher is to instruct students on how to think, not what to think. To wit, an Obama-specific lesson plan is inculcation in its purest form.
planetgeo, as the product of a public school education, I beg to differ. And I have three siblings who would beg to differ as well. My parents made sure we understood the difference between “teacher’s opinion” and “fact,” as well as making sure that we had a firm understanding of history, the Constitution, etc. We were the kids in the class “questioning authority” and doing our part to re-educate our peers. Now that my son is in school, I am doing the same. He was the kid on the playground last year telling his friends why their parents shouldn’t vote for Obama. (And giving actual cogent reasons, beyond “cause my mom and dad told me so.”)
Despite what some people think, public school isn’t necessarily the devil. And I would rather my children learn at a very young age that there are people in the world who think, act, and believe differently than they do (and to have a basis for understanding how to respond to those people), than be surprised when they encounter it in the “real world.”
They shouldn’t Rap this in school, but the lyrics are preferable:
Mmm, mmm, mmm, Ronald Wilson Reagan
He said government should get out of the way so free men can prosper and have their say.
Mmm, mmm, mmm, Ronald Wilson Reagan
He said big government should get the axe, so people aren’t stifled paying tax.
Mmm, mmm, mmm Ronald Wilson Reagan
He said take a stand, defeat the soviets … freedom for man.
Mmm, mmm, mmm, Ronald Wilson Reagan
He said red, yellow, black and white, all are Americans. He was right
Mmm, mmm, mmm, Ronald Wilson Reagan
Yeah Ronald Wilson Reagan
Mr. President, We honor your memory today
For all your great accomplishments, we all do say hooray
Hooray, Mr. President you are No. 1
like what?
uh, name one?
Well said, and spot on.
The irony for blacks who thrive on victimhood to hide shortcomings in the black community in not taking advantage of the opportunity afforded them once Jim Crow died, is that while politicians have to kow-tow to this crap, the vast silent majority doesn’t buy a word of it. And that vast silent majority are the small business owners that hand out the jobs. Really, who the hell is going to hire somebody that secretly despises you, and believes that you are an oppressor?
IMHO black anger and embrace of the excuse of victimhood, is really misplaced anger at their own race and culture for wasting the glorious opportunity afforded them MLK and other REAL black leaders of the past. If it is too painful to be self-critical, then just hop on the dem bus of victimhood and that will make it all feel better. Even shakedown artist Jesse Jackson said about his own race
“we got free, and then we got stupid”. Yep, that about sums it up.
The picture of the typical afro-centric racist.
BTW, what was OH!Blame-o writing on the blackboard in the pic at the top of the article? Can anyone read it and post?
I thinks it say something about “Relationships with Islamic Jihad” or something, hard to tell.
As a former public school teacher:
1. Conservative teachers are still fighting the good fight, but they’re becoming an endangered species.
2. Progressive agendas are issued and supported by Fed. / State agencies, liberal school boards, superintendents, principals, and counselors.
3. Follow the $$$$! If you adhere to the progressive agenda, you receive Federal funding. If you don’t, they’ll find someone who will!
4. Parents are viewed as mindless breeders; clueless on parenting skills. They should get out of the way and let the professionals raise their kids!
*** This does NOT pertain 100% of the public schools in our country.
I’m SURE the school your child(ren) attend is a “conservative bubble” and you have NO worries. Stay diligent!
From Mike Broomhead, KFYI Newstalk radio 550 AM Phoenix:
Barack Hussien Obama mmm mmm mmm
we bought into your hope now we feel like a dope
Barack Hussein Obama mmm mmm mmm
I think it reads ‘my favorite part was when Mohammed moved the mountain…’
Gee, I would have thought that liberals would have been more sensitive and not call people “red, yellow, and black”. Don’t we have better, more politically correct terms?
Are you listening to jjmurphy Spypeach? Your children are learning more by learning to think. Lucky them, and lucky you.
THE 4th R is for Racism.
This is real “Dear Leader” stuff! What–did we wake up in North Korea or Nazi Germany??? Get it out of my country!

Red, yellow, black or white…
Obama’s a socialist in OUR sight!
This reminds me of John Adams cynical view of humanity in regard to liberty. Certainly he wasn’t the first, nor the last. There is a deep-seated need among large swaths of humanity for a strong ruler who will deliver them from their earth-bound existence. The King will provide for all our cares and hopes! Funny how the losers of our only true civil war, the American Revolution, have ended up the winners in the end. The Tories were right, and the Whigs were wrong, so it seems.

This is actually the second time you’ve had to call out the Burlington, NJ school district on your blog for far-left driven antics:
“Right wing fundamentalist” terrorism drills
(By Michelle Malkin, April 5, 2007 10:26 AM)
I zoomed in and tried to read it and the best I can decifier the blackboard is the following:
1) ??? Analysis is the top left side of the chalkboard.
2) The KBPOTUS seems to be writing about the relationships being built on and between Corporations, Banks, Utilities and ???(couldn’t read the 4th square).
I am not a lawyer and its my opinon that it deals with some form of banking law.
Hope this helps.

This Charisse Carney-Nunes will never get to be music Czar with those lyrics. Let me see if I can help. Can’t do any worse, correct?
Mmm, mmm, mmm, Barack Hussein Obama
He said all should lend their muscle
to make the Party rule above all.
Mmm, mmm, mmm, Barack Hussein Obama
He said we must be fair today,
Which means the State alone will say.

He said better take a stand,
Then bow down, ain’t that grand!

And let’s ad Rioting, Looting and Burning to the Obama curriculum.
I see the G20 protesters are wearing masks-from what I understand almost every state has what are called KLAN laws baring the use of masks for public protests and violent encounters.
But I guess it dos not apply to Community Organizations of the Left. They are just doing their homework of Rioting, Looting and Burning .
A+ lads.
O.k. Can I scream now??
I was sitting down to my daily “fix” of Glenn Beck and lo & behold…here comes Odumbo’s daily TV appearance. Another speech. I can’t tell you how much I despise that in-your-face marxist thug! I just want him gone! He is everywhere… I hope the Glenn Beck show is repeated tomorrow. It was a really good one and I had looked forward to seeing it.
happyscrapper ~
It re-airs at 1 a.m. (central time)
The sound of Obummer’s voice is starting to make me seriously nauseous.
Thanks! Unfortunately, I don’t have tivo and hopefully will be sleeping at that time. I do suffer from insomnia occasionally, so maybe I will catch it. I think it is also on at 4:00 Central Time Saturday.
Nothing like yelling FIRE! in a crowded blog.
Barack Hussein Obama.
Rich white folk are so greedy,
Make them give to the needy!
Mmm Mmm Mmm
Barack Hussein Obama.
America, we really suck,
But now he’s here so we’re un-f*cked!
Mmm Mmm Mmm
Barack Hussein Obama.
Why wait for Jesus to return,
He’ll give us all for which we yearn!
Mmm Mmm Mmm
Barack Hussein Obama.
Camelot, now it’s come back,
Only better, ’cause he’s black!
