My friends in the Tea Party movement have launched a new project inviting all Americans to help develop a list of top ten unanswered health care questions for President Obama.

She notes: “This seems to me to be an excellent opportunity for conservative creative minds to flood the contest with videos reflecting how we feel about ObamaCare. What a fun way to protest — almost as much fun as submitting ideas for the Rush billboard contest the brilliant administration ran last spring.”

Amen! But I’m glad the list will be limited to ten so the administration can’t say the questions were all over the board. Ignoring the public’s top 10 concerns regarding health care “reform” will make the wanna-be dictator look like exactly what he is.

I wonder if the MSM will report on that?

The left doesn’t care about our questions or concerns. They want this and they will do whatever it takes to ram it through.

The only consolation is, if they do get this monstrosity passed, it doesn’t go into effect til 2013 and we may have time to derail it before we cross the threshold. We all know it will be more difficult once it’s up and running.

It was harder than I thought. A lot of those questions needed to be asked, not just 10 of them.

Of course, some of the questions we already know the answer to, and I don’t expect Obama to be honest with any of his answers, IF he even pays attention to this at all. And that’s a very big IF.

Why can’t we buy health insurance the same way we purchase life insurance? Why must the employer be the one who chooses the plan then passes the cost on to the employee? The employee should be able to get better choices, not a one size fits all plan. Why should anyone be forced to purchase health insurance? Doesn’t that violate the Constitution? What is actually wrong with the health insurance plans? Do any of the bills actually solve those problems? If the answer is no, (which I think it is), then what is the government actually trying to do here?

One of the top questions should be:

Considering the bill will not go into effect until 2013, how much time will you allow for debate and public understanding of the bill before trying to vote on it?

I only have one question, but it directly effects me:

Why, if in defending my family from an already diagnosed illness, I decide to purchase a “Platinum” health care plan to defray said costs do I have to pony up more money for those who did not have the foresight or fortitude to cover their own family in the form of a Tax that you said you would not levy on me?

The questions are excellent, but they are beyond the ability of the POTUSA’s Adm or Congress to answer! The right hand keeps contradicting left hand!

What has been said by the President and what has actually been written thus far are baffling and mis-leading! For example, the bill as it is written now, will cover illegals. The Adm thinks Americans cannot read or think for themselves. One section says “no” and another section says “yes”! Nobody knows what the final bill will be. How can anyone?

With 500+amendments,thus far, not even a member of the Mensa Society brain-trust will be able to clearly explain the final bill to attorneys let alone to the American citizens! Tear up the 1000′s of pages of contradictions and start over!

Most Americans are sufering from PVS – Post Voter Stress and PVR – Post Voter Regret! No pain killers are effective! Getting involved is the only answer to reclaiming America.

We are all in danger of suffering from Whiplash from shaking our heads in disbelief about what is going on along the Potomac to “fundamentally change America” as quickly as possible as the POTUSA has set as his major focus and goal!

Please get involved with the Tea Party Movement and find others to join. As for me, I will never take for granted that someone in DC is watching out for me! Neither can you! jb

    My Question:

“Has the Justice Department and Bureau of Prisons yet given the President an estimate of how many people will be prosecuted for failure to comply”

Sen. John Ensign (R-Nev.) received a handwritten note Thursday from Joint Committee on Taxation Chief of Staff Tom Barthold confirming the penalty for failing to pay the up to $1,900 fee for not buying health insurance.

Violators could be charged with a misdemeanor and could face up to a year in jail or a $25,000 penalty, Barthold wrote on JCT letterhead. He signed it “Sincerely, Thomas A. Barthold.”

I voted, but I do NOT believe bho, team, or those doing this bill will answer any of these questions. They just want the power over ever more of us citizens. Our tax dollars and the power to tell us when and how high to hop.

Life expectancy is often touted as an indictment of our health care system. Is this logical? People in the U.S. contract cancer at a higher rate than in other countries. But is that the fault of the health care system? The only way it could be is if cancer screening is inadequate. But we have very aggressive cancer screening in this country (some would say, too aggressive). So how can this be blamed on the health care system instead of other factors?

Likewise, the U.S. has among the highest rates of obesity in the world. Would not that have a serious effect on life expectancy? And again, how likely is it that this would be a result of the health care system as opposed to other factors?

I just saw Feinstein talking about Obama’s consideration of what to do in Afghanistan (i.e., scrambling for a plan), and took note of the fact that she said that she is happy that he will sit back and take a long look at what the policy will be in this country.

Now why can’t they adopt that attitude with the health insurance “reform” legislation they are trying to ram down our throats like a drunken Barney Frank?

    Same here.

Question number eleven* would be ‘Will you take the time to answer our questions without any attempts at obfuscation or dissembling (and with none of the patronizing tone we’ve been subjected to in the past)?’

*The number eleven is especially appropriate in this instance in that it literally means “one left” (over ten). My inner word geek loves stuff like that. :-D

IIRC Thomas Sowell posited a related question in a recent column (will look for link), asking why there is all the rush and urgency to pass this monstrosity if it isn’t going to go into effect until 2013 (after the next Presidential election. Sowell’s hypothesis is quite interesting (and insightful IMO).

We just rewrote our coverage to go under the Platinum cap.

Heard an interview with Harkin on NPR today where he said he’ll have a public option bill for the President to sign by Christmas. Harkin didn’t sound concerned about any kind of bi-partisan participation. When asked (surprised NPR asked) if Dems will try to include Republican ammendments in the bill, he answered that the people voted for Obama and change and that’s what they are gonna get.

Difficult to vote for just 10 questions, but my priority was Medicare, since I’m 60 now. I don’t know why they call “healthcare” or “insurance” a right. I can’t find anywhere where it is defined as a right, except in the politicians’ mindset. A bigger “right” is food. I don’t see the politicians running around sponsoring “food insurance” bills; probably because they see no real power or control there, yet. They are in a hugh rush to pass something that doesn’t take effect until 2013. That should tell you something. By the way, food control never worked; a disaster. They know that.

The column by Sowell that I mentioned is posted in more than one place online (see here and here); the hypothesis that he posits is this (emphasis added):

If this is such an urgently needed program, why wait for years to put it into effect? And if the public is going to benefit from this, why not let them experience those benefits before the next Presidential election?

If it is not urgent that the legislation goes into effect immediately, then why don’t we have time to go through the normal process of holding Congressional hearings on the pros and cons, accompanied by public discussions of its innumerable provisions? What sense does it make to “hurry up and wait” on something that is literally a matter of life and death?

If we do not believe that the President is stupid, then what do we believe? The only reasonable alternative seems to be that he wanted to get this massive government takeover of medical care passed into law before the public understood what was in it.

Moreover, he wanted to get re-elected in 2012 before the public experienced what its actual consequences would be.
