“Judges want to f— young girls. Juries want to f— young girls. Everyone wants to f— young girls!”
Those are the words of Hollyweird hero and convicted child rapist Roman Polanski.
For a running tally of the crime-coddling apologists in the arts community joining the “Free Polanski” bandwagon, go here.

Because he raped a 13 year old girl.
Your position seems to be that until we do something about the trial lawyer scourge we’re not allowed to be outraged about anything else. That’s completely insane.
If you find the trial bar so offensive maybe you should start your own blog where you can rant about them exclusively. The rest of us are capable of following multiple issues at once.
What’s the deal with liberal women like Goldberg and Winger defending this crime. Why are they not outraged that this man was able to live a more-than-comfortable life despite raping a child?
Let’s see, liberals believe abortion is okay, child rape is okay. At what age is human life sacred? After puberty?
As a woman and a mother I can say with all certainty that had I been the mother of the 13 year old, I might be getting out of jail by now. Roman Pervertsky would be a eunich, only able to remember his exploits of my child.
oh no TigerLady–what have you done?!
I’m not sure in just what world the oral, vaginal and anal rape of a terrified child who pleaded with her assaulter to stop is considered a “small potato shenanigan”, Marc.
As I expect you already know, TigerLady, it’s pretty much part and parcel of Tinseltown elite liberal philosophy that if you if you’re one of “The Gifted Creative Geniuses” the only crime you can be denounced or ostracized for is being a conservative.
It’s a variation of the “Yeah, but Mussolini made the trains run on time” defense. While I’d agree that Polanski did make some great films, it doesn’t change the fact that he’s guilty of violent child sex abuse.
Answer to everyone’s dilemma:
Bring him back. Set aside the conviction for “prosecutorial misconduct.” That oughta make his apologists happy.
THEN, give him a new trial on ALL CHARGES, and read into the record the victim’s grand jury testimony and have her testify now. Impose a “gag order” on the trial so there can be no purient interest played out in the “media.” When the great Roman Polanski is convicted of drugging, providing alcohol, and raping a 13 year old girl, sentence his sorry a$$ to life in p0rison.
Hope is not a plan; not all change is good. WE are the civilian national security force! In what world, Whoopi is drugging and raping a 13 year old girl “…not rape-rape?” The resistance is here; the resistance is now. RESIST!!!!!!!!!

If the DA Steve Cooley wants to chase after Polanski, that’s OK with me. But I don’t understand why Jane Fonda escapes scrutiny. Fonda pointed an antiaircraft weapon at US pilots and basically approved of shooting down our pilots. She also urged American soldiers, airmen and sailors to go awol and to defect from the US military. Fonda gets to go on shows like Letterman where the moron Letterman congratulates her on her “courage”. The tapes of Fonda’s message to our soldiers are still available. As far as I am concerned, Fonda really engaged in treasonous conduct. And I don’t think there is a statute of limitations on treason. Yet no DA or district attorney has the guts to start a grand jury investigation into Fonda’s despicable conduct. The Justice Department and DAs all give us some mumbo jumbo about “freedom of speech” or “lack of jurisdiction”. Fonda is far, far worse than Polanski. Polanski is a kook. Fonda is, in my opinion, attempting to undermine the morale of our soldiers while they are on the battlefield. If Polanski is put behind bars, then Fonda should be right there with him. I would put Fonda behind bars for a longer stretch than Polanski. She is far worse than an oddball like Polanski.
You really don’t have a clue on this, do you Mark?
Being an oddball and being a jackass is not illegal, nor a crime. If it were, the jails would be full.
On the other hand, what Polanski did – the brutal sexual assault of a child – is a crime to which he had has pled guilty.
If you’re searching for a valid comparison point to Polanski that’s not the apples vs. the oranges think “OJ Simpson”.
To anyone who thinks that Polanski is small potatoes, or that it’s a waste of taxpayer dollars to prosecute him, read this:
Read the whole thing – even if you can’t stomach it. Especially if you can’t stomach it.
I know one of those children now grown, and what this man wrote about the lasting damage done to these children is the absolute truth.
For Polanski’s victim to say she’s moved past it, that she’d forgiven him, whatever, I pray is true for her own sake, not his.
But for Polanski to be allowed to continue flouting the law, and worse, for those who claim, like Harvey Weinstein, that “Hollywood has the best moral compass…” and then defend this “murderer of a child”, is a blight and a curse on this nation.
In 1775 John Adams wrote, “They define a republic to be a government of laws, and not of men.” (Novanglus No. 7).
If we no longer uphold those laws that govern us, then we have indeed lost the Republic that our forebearers fought and bled and died to defend and preserve.
And we truly have lost our heart and soul as a nation.
Wayfaring Stranger, +10 for that comment.
