   This is a bit disingenuous. Pratt & Whitney also makes jet engines, as does Rolls-Royce. Are they saying the engines are costlier because they’re “green”? I kind of doubt that given the amount of engineering that goes into them.

   If they’re saying the only reason they’re pushing the bill is so GE will sell more engines, then this is the same kind of incorrect connection people made with Halliburton and the Iraq war.

    I know it can be done, but is it? The article makes no mention of any specificities regarding the engines. All it says is that new emissions requirements will be put in place for any new purchases. GE has to meet those requirements, as do P&W and RR. Without any details this just looks like unjustified speculation.

    I second that assertion! Of course the answer is money. Just like the Endowment of the Arts, liberals need to find new ways of funneling money to people who can not compete in a capitalist society. Somehow, the masters all managed to produce art unrivalled by modern artists without the NEA. Private sponsors, yes. Tax payers, no.
