Paddle does not necessarily have to mean military intervention, but it should mean something more than just more talking.

I'm sure the Iranians are picturing Obama in their minds as wearing a Jimmy Carter mask. He is the answer to all their prayers.....someone they will be able to play with and string along for as long as neccessary.

Your posts give the impression that you believe that you are smarter than others here; I guarantee you that you are not.

Your impression are your own. And, I will guarantee you that I am not smarter than others here. Never sais so and never suggested it.

I state my opinions based on the issues raised by MM. I rarely initiate discussions with other posters, but will respond to others who initiate a discussion with me, as you did. I ask questions, hope I get answers, and respond to those who take me to task. I avoid casting perjoratives, assigning motives, suggesting what someone knows or does not know, and agree with others on ocaission.

The only question that you had posed in the post to which I had referred was:

And ‘paddle’ is a euphemism for what exactly?

Yeah, but your response was not an answer. You told me how you felt, and your physical response.

The answer most likely is the credible threat of, preparation for, and the consequences of, military force.

Yep, that is an answer. 'Paddle' is a euphemism for 'military force'. Why didn't you say so sooner?

“Diplomacy without arms is like music without instruments.”

Frederick the Great
king of Prussia 1740-1786 (1712 – 1786)

http://www.quotationspage.com/quote/34507.html

But, you knew that.
All of us here know that you knew that.

[Snark: Do you mean a capella?]

Excellant quote. And, no I did not know that. I am more familiar with Clauswitz, (paraphrasing) 'War is an extension of diplomacy.'

Ummm, so how do you know what everyone knows I know? Reading responses to MM's various posts on Iran, 'paddle' has been characterized as severe sanctions to all out war to tactical military strikes. Therefore, my definition of 'paddle' could be among those same responses given by other posters.

Try avoiding speculation and guessing, and just ask a question.
