Halloween came early to the White House

By Michelle Malkin  •  October 6, 2009 10:22 AM

Another Kabuki moment brought to you by the Obama theatrical troupe, via the NYPost:

President Obama yesterday rolled out the red carpet — and handed out doctors’ white coats as well, just so nobody missed his hard-sell health-care message.

In a heavy-handed attempt at reviving support for health-care reform, the White House orchestrated a massive photo op to buttress its claim that front-line physicians support Obama.

A sea of 150 white-coated doctors, all enthusiastically supportive of the president and representing all 50 states, looked as if they were at a costume party as they posed in the Rose Garden before hearing Obama’s pitch for the Democratic overhaul bills moving through Congress.

The physicians, all invited guests, were told to bring their white lab coats to make sure that TV cameras captured the image.

But some docs apparently forgot, failing to meet the White House dress code by showing up in business suits or dresses.

So the White House rustled up white coats for them and handed them to the suited physicians who had taken seats in the sun-splashed lawn area.

All this to provide a visual counter to complaints from other doctors that pending legislation is bad news for the medical profession.

Obamacare has been attracting dubious doctors and dangerous posers all year.

Check out the Senate Doctors Show. They don’t need to play dress up.

It might be interesting to get a detailed list of these individuals broken down by state (and perhaps party affiliation just for fun). As a public service, such a detailed list would certainly be useful to those wanting to know which doctors to avoid.

The question is whether these are actual practicing physicians – the term doctor is a non sequitur IMHO as there are many persons who have earned the title of doctor, yet have nothing to do with the practice of medicine.

And as others have noted, this administration and its supporters have a record of citing as experts people who are no such thing.

On 9/10/09 there was a rally of doctors and nurses (around 1000 doctors and nurses in attendance)in DC to support a more conservative approach to health care reform(Zygg your comment about doctors against reform is truly pathetic as I think most would agree that everyone feels that health care reform is important we just differ on what reform is); yet no coverage.

I guess they should have used the white coat stage craft to get their message across.

One was here in Central Oregon, bragging in the paper. I will certainly avoid her.

If we get this monstrosity, just wait till a docter finds herself on a long waiting list, or wait till hospitals and clinics fire them because they can’t afford to keep a large staff.

I’m sure none of those doctors are wealthy, as they practice medicine out of pure altruism rather than the evil profit motive. Maybe that’s the real reason that some didn’t have lab coats: they couldn’t afford it. At any rate, each one, assuming they are real doctors, advocates theft by government to pay for their services. They are harming themselves, their patients, and the taxpayers.

But the doctors in the Rose Garden were all supporters of health care reform — and the invitation-only guest list drew heavily from Doctors for America, a grassroots organization that backs a government-run insurance option.

Roughly 98 percent of the group’s 15,000 members support a public insurance option, Doctors for America spokeswoman Megan Smith told FOXNews.com. She said roughly 40 of the 150 doctors who attended the meeting were from the organization.

Cherlin insisted that the doctors “were not invited based on their support for a public option.”

I would suggest that everyone find out if there doctor is a member of Doctors for America…if so find another doctor who is more interested in his/her patients rather than politics…

Garner used the stupid fedex, ups, usps analogy, which I would’ve shredded him on, but Palmisano was polite. He also implied that there was no other plan offered (Coburn/Ryan?).

He didn’t say anything about the lucrative tonsilectomy and foot amputation business that Obama alleged. I’m still waiting for that to be quantified.

As GP’s are traditionally on the lower end of the medical money chain, this is welcome news for them. I would like to know if those Doctors at the White House yesterday were Specialists or GP’s.

My distrust is legitimate and authentic and expected due to the fact that The Messiah has already exercised such deception numerous times over the past few years, planting operatives in the audience for Town Halls, Debates, Speeches, etc., and engaging them for effect as if he did not know who they were or that he intended to employ them for effect.

I’d posit that the majority of the problem with the system(s) as they exist today are government caused. The last thing we need are more laws and regulation. What we need are sane laws.

What I saw today was horrible- tens of thousands of people sprawled across the Washington Mall waving signs proudly fighting against fascism and Communism and even death – all the suspected outcomes of health reform. It felt like the twilight zone. These were regular people who were just utterly misinformed. It was like watching a person with severe emphysema smoking or a diabetic ordering a large milkshake and a double cheeseburger. Tens of thousands of people who believed they were fighting for their liberty and their future but were actually obliviously fighting against their own self interest.

I saw a sweet little girl holding a sign that she clearly drew herself that said “Please don’t ruin my future!!” I wanted to cry. I wandered through that crowd in disbelief and found myself asking aloud, “Why? Why would you do this?” No one heard me.

    Dr Demento

    And more:

    Dr. Who
    Dr. Seuss
    Dr. Dre
    Dr. J
    Dr. Dolittle
    Dr. Crusher
    Dr. McCoy
    Dr. Cyclops
    Dr. Zhivago
    Dr. Zoidberg

    And still more:

    Dr. Venture
    Dr. X
Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem
    Dr. T and the Women
    Dr. Ruth
    Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman
    Dr. Pepper
    Dr. Phibes

Dr. Crusher was, in a word, HOT. I’d put her up against any of the gorgeous TV characters of any era.

Sadly, we are all forgetting the very real threat that Obamacare could very well bring us the next …

    Dr. Mengele

America must not let that happen.

He didn’t say anything about the lucrative tonsilectomy and foot amputation business that Obama alleged. I’m still waiting for that to be quantified.

I just read in the latest issue of Townhall magazine that Obama’s quote of $50,000 for an amputation would actually be in the neighborhood of $800-$1400 dollars. So basically, he just pulled that figure out of his a**. And remember, the Dr. has a staff to pay and office expenses, malpractice insurance etc.

On a very serious note, we cannot let them sign any health bill. I’ve had ME for 20 yrs. You will not read or hear about myalgic encephalomyelitis because the NIH, CDC and WHO have done everything in their power to make sure you never will.

It took decades for them to say Chronic Fatigue Syndrome was a real disease and then changed the DX criteria to make it a mental disorder. Science has proved them wrong and they don’t like it.

Did the White House release a list of these doctors? I am sure that if the list is released, we will see that many of the doctors in attendance were activists and contributors to Democrat candidates. The myth is that all doctors are Republicans. Not true. Howard Dean is a doctor and a leftist. I would not be surprised if some of the doctors in attendance were active in the proabortion movement and gave money to proChoice groups. Clinton pulled this stunt many times by having limousine liberal doc show up at White House events. And why is nobody in attendance at this White House production even mentioning tort reform, the most vital issue in the world today. It would not surprise me if many of the docs in attendance also were not MDs but chiropracters. Or maybe the White House found some guys who cut toe nails and called them foot doctors.

Who are these people? I have been in laboratory safety for 25 years. A lab coat is to be worn in the laboratory/clinic and is supposed to stay there. Lab coats are personal protective equipment. They are to protect the wearer in case of spills onto themselves. Most labcoats have chemical, radioactive and biohazard contamination on them. NOT TO BE WORN IN PUBLIC!

Geez, it’s all political theater witht his administration. It’s not an administration of actual ideas, it’s an administration that uses people, promotes a brand to sell to a hapless people who this administration thinks needs to be taken “care” of. I’m just tired of it. Too bad the schmucks who voted for this pretender-in-chief just don’t have a clue.

I really think Obummer missed his calling in Hollywood. He would have made a good director. Somebody who so interweaves his life with fantasy it’s hard to separate either one.

When was the last time you saw your physician wearing a lab coat that reached down to the knees? My MD is a little more stylish than that. I’m waiting for the gathering of RN’s that wear the old school nurses hats…heh! (This faux pas by the Magnus Axlerodii shows how out of touch these people are, IMHO)

Word has it that the DR.s were supposed to bring their own lab coats, but some forgot…the White House, thinking ahead, just happened to have some on hand…uh huh. Kinda like the little pile of stones on that stoneless beach that Bill Clinton just happened to stumble upon during his Normany/D-Day tribute…y-e-a-h

It makes me wonder…what was more important? The gathering of these idiot doctors, or the photo op that followed?

The photo op has my vote.

Do you understand the significance and the gravty of the situation if what you say is true?

If Barrack Hussein Obama gets most of his ideas from out of His as@, then that means the area where his main neurological organ is housed, where thought procesesses are generated is in His a@s.

The colon, rectum, anus, etc., is the area through which we eliminate waste.

That means that Dear Leader has sh#$ for brains.

Some docs apparently forgot, failing to meet the White House dress code by showing up in business suits or dresses, so the White House rustled up white coats for them.

The White House obviously forgot the red-rubber noses and clown-shoes to complete the official dress-code.

Robert Gibbs will explain the slight oversight in tomorrow’s press briefing, as well as his promotion to the new post of “Media Information Czar”.

Patients have called and said their moving on to other clinics. she decided it was best if she didn’t have a follow up interview with Lars…wow! talk about educated and still a dolt.
