Maxine Waters: “Many members” are as sleazy as my friend Charlie Rangel; Update: House Dems move to quash Remove Rangel resolution, 243-156

Scroll for updates…

House floor votes are underway. As I noted this morning, GOP Rep. John Carter is set to introduce a resolution this afternoon to remove corruptocrat/tax cheat/race hustler Charlie Rangel from his chairmanship of the House Ways & Means Committee.

He tweets this afternoon: “About to introduce the Rangel Resolution on the House Floor. We’ll see what happens.”

Meanwhile, Democrat Rep. Maxine Waters mounts her best defense of her buddy Rangel: Congress is full of sleazoids as bad as Charlie!

Ok, she didn’t say sleazoids…but she might as well have:

“Many members” of Congress suffer from the same disclosure issues as Rep. Charles Rangel (D.N.Y.), one of his allies said Wednesday.

Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) downplayed the seriousness of allegations against Rangel that he failed to disclose sources of income and pay taxes on some properties, saying that many lawmakers suffer from innocent lapses in judgment when filing mandatory financial disclosure forms.

“I want to tell you, there are many members who, if you go back over all of their records, over all of the years, you’re going to find that there were disclosures that were not made,” Waters said during an appearance on MSNBC Wednesday morning.

Birds of a feather indeed.

Flashback: Culture of corruption: Banking hypocrite Maxine Waters

***

Update. 1:30pm Eastern.

As promised, GOP Rep. John Carter introduced his resolution to remove Rangel from his committee chairmanship. He read reams and reams of MSM articles blasting Rangel’s whitewashing and repeated disclosure lapses. The Democrats tried to interrupt him by challenging his floor privileges. Rep. Carter was allowed to finish speaking. The clerk then began reading the full text of the resolution into the record — which Democrats also tried and failed to prevent.

Then, Rangel’s Democrat CYA team introduced a motion to punt on the issue and instead refer the resolution to the Ethics Committee.

15-minute vote now underway.

Update. 1:48pm Eastern.

Rangel dodges the bullet again with a little help from his corruption-enabling friends.

Final vote tabling Carter’s resolution to remove Rangel from W&M chairmanship: 243-156. 19 voted present. 3 REPUBLICANS joined the Democrats. Will post roll call vote as soon as it is up.

    VOTE THEM ALL OUT!!!

I don’t care to hear their excuses, or explanations. Voting to NOT hold Rangel accountable, only re-affirms my instinct that these crooks are afraid that the skeletons in their own closets will get exposed.

Is it any wonder they can’t get results combating innercity crime? They only care about their “good ol’ boy” club.

We must band together and get these leeches thrown out of office…or else we are just as bad as are they!

Even Maxine Waters (DimocRAT–CA) gets it right once in a while. She and her “democRAT” / liberal / socialist / statist / marxist / communist clowns fit right in with the super ethical Charlie Rangel. And with the RINO’s and rethuglicans who rip off the taxpayer as they “help out the little guy” and get rich themselves.

I seem to remember that she was one of the Congressional Black Congress group that went to Cuba and praised Castro and his handling of the economy–and medical care there.

Read Yoanni Sanchez’ blog GenerationY blog today–about how it takes all day long–AND A DAY’S SALARY–for the ordinary Cuban to buy a bottle of dish washing soap to try to keep from getting the H1N1 flu!

8 YEAR TERM LIMITS FOR ALL SENATORS AND “REPRESENTATIVES”. And IRS audits every year for all of these dishonest clowns. Vote them out in 2010.

No surprise that it was defeated. Congress has shown that they are above all morals and laws. At least, one thing did surprise me though…I actually agreed with something Maxine Waters said.

I most certainly did not get the government I deserve….I do not cheat on my taxes, I don’t lie, steal, and cheat at work, I do not have buildings named after me paid for with other people’s money, and I have a 20-year military service record. No, I DON’T deserve these despicable liars and crooks to represent me and I am tired of being told that I’ve gotten the government I deserve. I DESERVE A WHOLE LOT BETTER, and I intend to find a way to see that I get a lot more representation from people with a lot more character than any of them we have now.

I don’t remember a more corrupt Congress than the one voted in Nov 2006. Supposedly they would put an end to political corruption – cronyism ect.. anyone remember Nancy Pelosi promising to drain the swamp.

More material for Republican campaign ads.

I think a new bill just like this one should be brought to the floor… Every…Single…Day…

There’s approx 177 Republicans right? So there should be enough of them with a spine that will sponsor a new bill on each of the next 100 working days of Congress.

    Keep hammering them and Rangel.

And as for not getting anything else done….. Does anyone really want THIS Congress to actually do anything on it’s current agenda?

Dead on target. Rangle has been in the house 38 years, and you can bet he has dirt on everybody. Thats how our hallowed halls of congress work. Don’t you wonder how these vermin sleep at night?
