Please help the troops from Combat Outpost Keating

This is the least we can do.
Please join me in contributing to the Combat Outpost Keating Relief Fund. Please.
COP Keating was one of two outposts attacked this weekend in the siege at Kamdesh.
Mothax at the American Legion’s Burn Pit blog writes that “[i]n the battle for Combat Outpost Keating, the men of Bravo Troop 361 Cavalry lost every possession they had, save for the clothes on their backs.” Read the entire post.

Just chipped in what I could, sorry it isn’t more. It breaks my heart that soldiers believe we don’t care. It’s going to take a lot more effort from our “leaders” and the media to prove him wrong, and unfortunately they are not at all up to the task. God bless the soldiers, and I hope we can change their minds.
WOW WOW WOW! Bob Barker (The Price is Right) is on TV right now and he just gave $3 Million bucks to help build a hospital in Bethesda Maryland to help our troops with severe brain injuries. Go Bob Barker! YOU ARE THE MAN!
God Bless and protect our troops. Just finished giving what I could, and definitely will repeat as often as possible.
Done.
In Obamas world all those soldiers will receive a statement of charges for equipment lost. They will deduct from pay….I can see it clearly.
Soldiers doing their part to keep liberty alive AND pay down the national debt.
Go Annointed One..please. Don’t go away mad. Just go away!!!
Done. Thanks for the information, Michelle.
Can’t we send congress? Maybe they can draw out the enemy so our true patriots can get an easy shot.
Done.
This sounds fishy. If it is military gear the military can replace it easily. If we are talking about personal gear, iPods, laptops, etc., maybe. The military takes care of its own- I know first hand. If it is just to improve morale, I’m all for it. Just make sure this is not a scam- we have had so many in this war.
Soldier’s Angels are on it too @ http://www.soldiersangels.com. I’m not familiar with the site that claims affiliation with American Legion? I hope it’s not a scam since I just sent out the link to MM’s site to everyone on the planet. I’m not familiar with American Legion since my husband is active in VFW.
Can any service member tell my why you’d locate a base between mountains where you’re a sitting duck down in the bottom, rather than on the highest hill? I’m sure it has something to do with supply access, but this seemed like a doomsday base to start with?
Instead, maybe, TEH ONE can fly over and draw them out with an offer of a friendly chat over a a couple of bottles of non-alcoholic brew to work out our differences. He’s so articulate, how can he fail? Anyway, alas, with current ROE, the easy shots are few and far between.
Money sent and I am tweeting the link and will find similiar diaries on other sites to post this information to. This should be VIRAL….no soldier should have have to wonder if WE care because even if the President doesn’t We The People of these United States do!
I sent $100 worth of gear……
….match me.
Winter is on. They need socks (green, knee high), thermal underwear, gloves (military or heavy police style) etc. If you are close to a military base with a decent PX or clothing sales, gain permission to shop for these men.
This was one of the most intense battles we have engaged, and these men stood firm and refused to give ground. Reflecting the finest training, best gear, and the iron will of the American combat Soldier.
Their sacrifice is legend.
Have donated but also want this message to become viral.
Malkin readers, get busy and get the word out that these brave men need our support. I sent a message to all in my contact list who I thought could donate even a little…for the sacrifices our soldiers and Marines endure daily, please help.
kept getting error on Address line #1, city, Invalid city, state zip? Much rather use my c.c. instead of writing a check, anyone have an idea what’s wrong, all the info is there and correct.
never mind, I’ll write a check.
SSG Medzyk -
Having spent almost 4 years awhile back sending personal care packages to GWOT-deployed (mostly) Marines that reached almost 3,000 of our “few and the brave”, you’re on.
I’ll be glad to partner your concern.
UPDATE:
“Tanker Babe” [http://tankerbabelc985.vox.com/library/post/survivors-in-afghanistan-need-immediate-help---56-surviving-soldiers-lost-everything.html] reports that personal necessities have been fully addressed in a spontaneous outpouring of support for the 56.
The recommended donation venue is now the aforementioned American Legion fund drive.
So that’s the way I’m going.
Anyone else having the same problem as rightisright? I can’t get the cc donation page to work either.
TraciB,
I had a problem but elimnated the section on who I wanted to honor.
In the second section, under “Memorial or Tribute” make sure it is on “neither” and it should work. That is what messed it up for me at first, as it wanted a name and address of a person. Try that, anyway…
Done. And sending to all on my email list.
As someone directly involved in this, I can assure you its not a scam. Thank each and everyone of you for stepping up and helping. These Warriors were literally EVAC’D with their weapons and the clothes on thier backs.
If you want to do double duty, go to http://www.concretebob.freeservers.com and click th link for US Cavalry. You can order good stuff, USCAV will take care of shipping, and a percentage of the proceeds goes to Soldiers Angels and Warrior Legacy Foundation.
I sent what I could. It wasn’t enough though, but I wanted to make sure they know we support them 100%.
