Legally and Constitutionally he should refuse to accept the money and the tangible aspects of the award. Or at the very least he should declare they are the property of the USofA and not his.

There is question about whether he can accept this title from another government, as well.

The proper thing would be to donate it to the groups Mary K Ham noted were passed over, like the group that helps victims of land-mines.

But this being Obama, the proper thing will not happen.

If he donates it to the Treasury it might pay for part of the cost of sending Air Force One and a backup and other cargo planes to Norway for Obama to accept the boot-licking from the sons of Quisling.

But that ain’t happening either.

A donation to the UNCF would be a good deed and would be racially concious, supporting America’s historically Black colleges, but the good deed part might get in the way.

Its not his money. If I recall correctly he is required to turn it over any gifts, awards, prizes, etc., received while in office to the US government; any such gifts, awards, prizes, etc., are the property of the people of the United States, not the recipient.

He’ll pay ACORN’s legal expenses with it.

I had heard a number of folks suggest on the radio that Obama COULD have pulled off the biggest coup of his young presidency had he simply rejected the award, on account of his being undeserving (as he himself admitted to be), and by doing so, he would have actually shown some degree of humility (whether he meant it or not). By his accepting the award, he merely made himself to be the biggest buffoon in the entire world. His stupidity is off the charts.
