WaPo Page A1 breaking news: Conservatives are horrible ogres, Part 99,999
The Sunday edition of the Washington Post featured a massive, front-page article by Ann Gerhart decrying the “incivility” of conservatives. “The nation’s political discourse seems sour, angry, even dangerous,” Gerhart frets.
The introduction of the article spotlighted an e-mail from yours truly to Obama-philic author and Jamestown Project member Charisse Carney-Nunes.
Does the e-mail contain incivil rhetoric, profanity, or threats?
No.
My message contained….questions:
Late last month, Charisse Carney-Nunes fired up the computer at her home in Northeast Washington to check her e-mail. Her brain already was on morning drive time: breakfast for the kids, her day’s work at a government agency. She glanced down at her screen, then froze.
“Ms. Carney-Nunes,” began the e-mail from Michelle Malkin, a best-selling and often inflammatory conservative writer with a heavily trafficked Web site. “I understand that you uploaded the video of schoolchildren reciting a Barack Obama song/rap at Bernice Young elementary school in June. I have a few quick questions. Did you help write the song/rap and teach it to the children? Are you an educator/guest lecturer at the school? Did you teach about your book, ‘I am Barack Obama’ at the school? Your bio says you are a schoolmate of Obama. How well-acquainted are you with the president?”
Carney-Nunes looked at the time stamp — 6:47 a.m. — and closed the file without replying. She knew Malkin had driven criticism of President Obama’s back-to-school speech, streamed nationwide, as an attempt to indoctrinate students. Now Malkin was asking about a YouTube video of New Jersey public school children singing and enthusiastically chanting about Obama from a Black History Month presentation.
Here was the full message I sent:
Ms. Carney-Nunes,
I understand that you uploaded the video of schoolchildren reciting a Barack Obama song/rap at Bernice Young elementary school in June.
I have a few quick questions.
Did you help write the song/rap and teach it to the children? Are you an educator/guest lecturer at the school? Did you teach about your book, “I am Barack Obama” at the school? Your bio says you are a schoolmate of Obama. How well-acquainted are you with the president?
Thanks for your time.
I had also e-mailed the principal of the Burlington Township elementary school that hosted Carney-Nunes and prominently featured her “I Am Barack Obama” book at the school assembly where the kids sang. The principal did not respond. Neither did Carney-Nunes.
Instead of replying to me, Carney-Nunes ran to the Washington Post a month later to complain about angry e-mails she received in response to the now-infamous “Mmm, Mmm, Mmm” Obama praise video.
The Post dutifully extrapolated from the incident to invoke Rev. Charles Edward Coughlin, smear the Tea Party movement as racist, and deride conservative “ideologues [who] are the millionaire kings and queens of cable and radio ratings and book sales” (see Sweetness and Light for the screen cap).
The Post erroneously asserted that the video was “erroneously linked” to Carney-Nunes:

There was nothing “erroneous” about the link. The video was uploaded on the YouTube channel of Carney-Nunes. She now blames it on an “associate” in the Post article:
Carney-Nunes said an associate of hers videotaped the children’s performance and later uploaded it, along with video and photos from other of her readings, to Carney-Nunes’s YouTube account.
The Post sympathetically quoted Carney-Nunes as she pondered:
“How can I talk to those people?” she said. “These are people who persist in believing that Barack Obama is a Muslim, that he isn’t a citizen of this country. You tell me: Where is the beginning of that conversation?”
Carney-Nunes isn’t interested in talking to me. And she isn’t interested in talking to you. She is interested in promoting the cult of Obama in elementary schools and helping kids “find that inner Obama” without anyone criticizing her.
It’s a telling sign of the Post’s ideological agenda and its insufficient tuned-in-ness (to borrow the NYTimes’ phrase) that the paper doesn’t think parental concerns about left-wing radicalism in the schools are Page A1-newsworthy — but that the complaints of a social justice proselytizer are.
***
Tim Graham at Newsbusters spotlights WaPo priorities: “WaPo Puts Michelle Malkin Attack on Page 1 – ‘Don’t Ask Don’t Tell’ Repeal on Page 3.” Make sure to click on Tim’s link for some trademark Berkeley incivility — a teeny, tiny taste of left-wing incivility that never makes it onto the front pages of any newspaper.
Tim also notes some WaPo historical revisionism:
In a nod to reality, the Post acknowledges – at this late date – that this wasn’t exactly different than the Bush years:
It has been nearly a year since Barack Obama, running as a uniter and not a divider, was elected president by the largest margin in 20 years. The loop on cable news of thousands of beaming faces in Chicago’s Grant Park has given way to a summer and fall of thousands of other faces contorting in defiance and fear. A congressman yelled “You lie!” at the president on national TV. A liberal it off the finger of a conservative during a confrontation over public health insurance. On Friday, just hours after Obama was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, Republicans and Democrats were at their battle stations again.
The nation’s political discourse seems sour, angry, even dangerous; “uglier than it’s ever been” is a phrase often volunteered — as if President George W. Bush had never been depicted as Hitler, declared a dunce and heckled by Code Pink during his second inaugural address.
But the Post didn’t find that “dangerous” during those years. They wrote syrupy Style section profiles of Code Pink, like this one, headlined “Protesting for Peace With A Vivid Hue and Cry / Code Pink’s Tactics: Often Theatrical, Always Colorful.”
Bingo.

WaPo reporter Ann Gerhart writes near the very end of her opus that “An e-mail to Malkin Saturday seeking comment was not answered.” I was offline most of the weekend and didn’t see her e-mail — sent Saturday October 10 at 11:50am — until the article ran. But it’s obvious her hit piece was well in the bag and that any comment I would have provided would have been buried and incidental. Here is Gerhart’s message. Note especially the word “briefly.”

subject re: washpost reporter interview request
mailed-by washpost.comDear Ms. Malkin,
For a piece that is running in tomorrow’s Washington Post, I am hoping to speak with you briefly this afternoon. The piece is an exploration of civility in the public political discourse, or lack thereof — some historical context, some examples, the role of the Internet, the right to free speech and right to engage as a citizen, fairly wide-ranging.
Part of the piece concerns thhe experiences of Charisse Carney-Nunes, after the video of New Jersey schoolchildren singing about Barack Obama was linked to her.
I wanted to confirm that you had attempted to contact her via email and get some questions answered. And more broadly, I wanted to ask you for some reaction and hear from you what you think the current tenor of the discourse is.
Thank you very much for your time,
Ann Gerhart

And here are just a few e-mails that came in after the WaPo article ran:

I was just reading a piece of commentary this am on Big Hollywood that kinda fits.

Never worry Michelle. You are my favorite Ogress.
What did you expect? They are Liberals.
Wow. Is that really how she saw her article? Fairly wide-ranging?
Sorry b-cat, I was following Leigh Scott in that article until he said:
At that point any credibility he had was instantly lost. He shouldn’t be lumping us in with the leftists.
Let’s see here. Michelle is asking a few basic questions to someone who was recently in the news. 25 years ago this was called “journalism.” Now it’s sour and dangerous?
Attention Fossil Media: this is why you’re circling the drain.
Also, note Mrs. Carney-Nunes’s hateful code words:
“How can I talk to those people?” she said.
A-hem. RAAAAAACIST!!
Oh wait, she’s a liberal. False alarm everyone; nothing to see here.
No liberals aren’t racists right?
HHHMMM I am a bit confused then…..
#1 “I wish somebody could call CPS on your Asian ass before your children develop the same hatred running through your Filipino veins.”
#2 “I reviewed your image this am and I noticed your thick lips. Please tell me you’re not BLACK. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE.”
Nope no racism there are these people serious!?
Why is it their the first with the race identity politics?
Ok another day of UNBELIEVABLE!
The left really does a great job of projection. At this stage I do believe they fall into the realm of abnormal psychology. The upside is I have upgraded from a racist, xenophobe, hate speaking (due to using facts I have obtained from the new media), knuckle dragging Neanderthal, and am now an Ogre. For the drama queens on the left you have not even begun to see how uncivil I and other conservative can become when pushed too far, when I reach that point all I can think of is this famous line from a British Baird, “Cry Havoc! And let slip the dogs of war!”
Note to WaPo staffers:
Remember…
Being a screeching banshee against a duly-elected right-of-center politician reflects the noble position of important historical dissent. Bonus points are added if theatrics or artistic talents are displayed (Nazi symbols, effigies, etc.)
Asking a question of left-of-center politicians about policies and laws they wish to pass without debate is criminal and hate-filled.
Glad to have cleared that up…
By which they mean there are people that openly disagree with liberal dogma and will not back down by the usual charges of racism, hating children and wanting to kill poor people that used to work in the past.
“The Post dutifully extrapolated from the incident . . . “
Yep, it is an unfortunate reality that extrapolation . . . projection and conjecture are tools that are used to mis-characterize and mis-represent facts. Not to mention avoiding telling the entire story.
Both sides do it, so maybe it is OK. Nope. It is not OK. Because the other kids are jumping off the bridge does not mean you (global) should jump off the bridge, too.
When Sen Burris says something less than accurate, does not mean that all Democrats believe it. And, when Rep Fox (R) NC says something less than brilliant, does not mean all Republicans believe it.
Each is an extrapolation, and is an unfortunate mis-characterization and mis-representation of the facts.
Yes, we know that African Americans have been beaten up at tea parties. Oh, wait, that was a conservative black man who was attacked by SEIU thugs. Never mind, no incivility here.
the most amazing thing is that a t shirt of mccain doggy stylin sarah palin was never even commented upon by these protectors of free speech. anything goes from homo’s and huff po’s and daily kos, but don’t let beck, limbaugh, coulter or malkin ask a question regarding policy, and it’s hate speech. and people wonder why the populace rejects extra rights (hate crimes) for certain groups. if you criticize, prosecutors with an agenda can come after you, costing you a fortune. brown shirts, the media don’t need no stinking brown shirts, they got yellow rags.
The operative word there being delusional.
I love hate mail in the morning, it smells like victory!!!

why did u stop putting their e-mail address up?
“sour, angry, even dangerous,”
That sounds like a decent description of the leftist in this country. Not just now, but for decades.
Gerhart’s little propaganda piece is completely deceptive and the socialist who is the subject of her article is completely (to use a favorite lib term) disingenuous. She’s so full of it that I think even lefty’s might see through it.
So Carney-Nunes just closed Michelle Malkin’s email like it was virus laden spam. How weak. She could have easily responded to the questions. But like a cockroach, she scurried into a crack in the wall when some revealing light was directed her way.
If Carney-Nunes wrote an email to Michelle Malkin, I’d be willing to bet a whole lot of money that Ms. Malkin would have responded.
Liberals are such cowards.
Michelle, I hope you write a syndicated piece on this incident.
Next you send e-mails, make sure to include pictures of fluffy bunnies and baby duckies. Lots and lots of smiley faces too. A backdrop of clouds with bright streaks of sunlight breaking through is very uplifting too. These people need this stuff when they are off the meds.
I am not saying you are delusional, I am saying the illustration used in the linked article was a delusional D&D player.
I was introduced to D&D while serving in the Army. I played it for years. Didn’t suffer from delusions, and I’m sure you don’t either.
If the writer had used a metaphor that included a delusional cocktail waitress, he also would not be implying that all cocktail waitresses are delusional.
I just love the amateurish ham-handed excuses for getting caught too. Michelle lied, my assistant goofed. “They are so mean to me.”
Yeah, we adults are not as pliant and impressionable as children are we Ms Nunes? Maybe you’re too sensitive for life in the real world.
The liberal line is that conservatives are only to be tolerated to the extent they bow and/or curtsy before their betters and never, ever get uppity. Proper, old-fashioned conservatives know their place and while they might be permitted to make an objection or ask a question when called upon to do so, as long as they kept their voices and their heads low (“Massa, I do believe your shoes could use some extra polish. May I do so now?”), that was most assuredly the extent of it. We were and are viewed as the servants to the liberal Democrats, a role the McCains and Grahams are only too happy to assume.
I really would like to think those days are now forever behind us, but old habits die hard.
Dear Ms. Carney-Nunes and Ms. Gerhart,
There is a sea of us “Malkins” out here and, guess what, we’re not going anywhere, we’re not intimidated by cries of raaaaaacism, and we’re coming for your jobs. You’re days of mediocre education and journalism are numbered.
And WaPo wonders why all their shilling for their boy, Creigh Deeds, in northern Virginia isn’t helping.
Liberalism means never having to say you’re sorry…
…or practical…
…or intellectually honest…
…or reasonable…
…or blessed with testicular fortitude…
…or…
what pathetic pukes liberals truly are. call them out and they go into victim mode, and then lie. they can never accept responsibility for a thing and since lying is second nature to them they resort to it rather than tell the truth. carney-nunes would go to the wp, after all, fake hysterical drama evidently drives the actions of one and the comments of the other.
This is what they think everyone is upset over (the posting of the video)? I could care less if the video was posted on purpose or as the WaPo tries to claim “erroneously”. My problem is that the indoctrination was done in the first place. The WaPo is just upset that the cat got let out of the bag.
Wapo, like the rest of the fringe media, have no stomach for truth. They are idealogue zealots out to smear anyone that doesn’t go along with their left wing progressive socialist agenda.
They are like sports fans that can tell you all the great things about their team and only the bad about their opponent. Like children that form a click and make fun of the “outsideders”. But they don’t see that they are the outsiders. They are anti-American, anti-morals, anti-values, pro-homosexual, pro-illegal immigrants and pro-social justice. They are the fungus of society.
People, like Barbara Norwood, are a waste of time. Their IQ and their education are suspect. When they are losing a discussion, they have to resort to name-calling and insults in order to feel, delusionally, that they are winning. I have no time for people like that, around me. If I had to deal with issues that way, my intelligence would tell me that I was wrong and that I needed to reassess my positions. To scream and yell that someone is insulting you, and then, in the next breath, do the same yourself, shows a complete lack of education, common sense, maturity and values.
Ms. Carney-Nunes reminds me of Tawana Brawley. If you recall that incident, Tawana said she had been raped by 7 white men. After an investigation revealed that no such thing had taken place, she admitted that she had made it up.
It appears that Carney-Nunes is doing much the same thing, claiming to have received hateful e-mails and then conveniently destroying any trace to them.
Cries of racism float through the air, and Carney-Nunes claims to fear for her life. This is a great way to change the subject and turn her from perpetrator to victim. Happens all the time in the criminal courts so why not here.
Gerhart is a willing dupe, and possibly much worse.
I am reminded of a scene from the movie Arthur, where Dudley Moore is visiting his father’s office, and his manservant Hobson waits outside, with a rather surly business associate of the elder Mr. Bach.
The other man is remarking to the waiting area in general, “I can’t believe he gets all that money, and he pays his family back by, by being a stinking drunk.” To which Hobson comments, “I wouldn’t know, sir. I’m just a servant.”
The other man continues, “Yeah, right. . .” To which Hobson then replies, “On the other hand, go screw yourself.”
I would imagine that is about as civil as my discourse would be.
When threatened, leftist Democrats morph into screaming banshees, showing their fangs, dripping slobber from their open rancid mouths and crapping on themselves. Disgusting sight but very revealing . . . we need to keep them in that state.
Hmm, the WoPo seems to be slipping because they forgot to do their normal, you are RAAAACIST.
All you learned was how effective you have become, Michelle.
We have the initiative and they know it. Thus, they try to get us to voluntarily back off. Wishful thinking.
Releated, yesterday on Yahoo I saw this snort worthy headline. “Tea Partiers turning on Republican leaders; endorsing conservative renegades.”
Hell, I would rather be an informed conservative ogre than a Liberal Boot Licking Toady.
When you throw a rock into a pack of hounds, the one you hit yelps.
Wow Michelle, that was some really harsh wording in that email!! (/sarc)
Every time these guys get cornered I think of the Austin Powers movie with the -uhhh- “enlargement pump” after he’s reanimated. He denies that he owns it, and then they present a credit card receipt signed by him, warranty card filled out by him, and a book on how to use it, authored by him.
So Car-nes denies being linked to the video, and says “ohhh, look at the hatemongers politely requesting information on this!”
Then she admits that it was her youtube account?!
Seriously, somewhere there is a book Carney-Nunes wrote called “How I Taught Kids to Sing Obamaganda Anthems, Videotaped it, and posted it to youtube: That’s my bag, baby!” by Charisse Carney-Nunes. And the back cover will have a review by Ann Gerhart that says “The Burlington ES indoctrination is some of the best statist indoctrination that’s ever been done”.
Just another example of projecting by hateful, irrational, foaming-at-the-mouth Libtards.
There is nothing “civil” about being called a racist, a hatemonger, a teabagger, or any of the numerous names the liberals have called us. Through their MSM outlets, no less!
So, they can go screw themselves, as far as I’m concerned.
To be fair: Michelle didn’t start her eMail with “Dear _________.”
I bet Michelle doesn’t offer scones with tea, either. Barbaric…
It never fails to astound me how hypocritical these Liberals are, or how offensively racist they are in their attempts to claim how racist you, or for that matter, any and all Conservatives are.
Hypocrisy, thy name is Liberalism.
Is she kidding? She emails you on Saturday at 11:50 am and expects that you’ll be available in the following few hours for an interview?
I can imagine most newsroom editors accosting her for waiting until the last minute …on a weekend… to get commentary from someone mentioned in her article. What a joke. Maybe she should try to do her job with a little more responsibility.
Unless of course, she really didn’t want to talk to you, but only say that you did not respond.

Typical liberals.
They say and do things that are exponentially worse than anything we would think of, and portray our actual attempts at civil discourse as “evil” and ask “Where is the beginning of that coversation?”.
The beginning of that conversation took place when Mr. Obama ran as a “post-racial president”, and promised us that his election would be the end of racism. Now, we ask a few simple questions and are called racist even more loudly simply because the subject wasn’t comfortable with the questions, which were completely legitimate.
I wonder what Ms. Carney-Nunes found so uncomfortable about questions like:
“Did you help write the song/rap and teach it to the children?”
“Are you an educator/guest lecturer at the school?”
“Did you teach about your book, “I am Barack Obama” at the school?”
and
“How well-acquainted are you with the president?”
I don’t even see anything confrontational in any of this. In fact, I already know the answers, and I wasn’t even privy to the email exchange.
Yes. Guest lecturer. Yes. We were schoolmates.
See Charisse? That wasn’t all that hard, now was it?

Yes!!! I love this post!
Now seriously, does anyone with a living brain cell read WaPo? They are swirling down the same toilet as NYT.
BTW, this reaction by Carney-Nunes reminds of the MSM’s general reaction to McCain’s choice of Sarah Palin. The common thread is that both Palin and our Ms. Malkin are beltway “outsiders”.

What horribly hateful questions you put to this nice quiet housewife who had nothing to do with the song posted on her youtube account. How incivil!/sarc
If you go to the article there are many comments posted in rebuttal to WaPo hatchet job. I am proud to be one of them.
Keep up the great work, MM.
:
Exactly.
What’s “dangerous” is calling non-dangerous speech “dangerous” just because it challenges the veracity of someone else’s comments, or questions the motivation behind them.
Liberals know a thing or two about being “dangerous”, it’s true. Ask their buddies over at the New Black Panthers, ACORN or the SEIU.
Michelle, you must be hitting the mark to provoke such a response from the WaPo! Well done, I hope and pray that one day the Washington Post will find the money to hire a real journalist to write page one articles. Ann Gerhart is obviously too dim to relate the facts of story, maybe she should apply for a job with ACORN.
Note to libs: unlike the Democratic Underground and the Daily Kos blogs and other liberal, Bush-hating sites, Michelle Malkin will ban you if you use profanity or other non-appropriate remarks—check her terms of use.
I have been posting for years, and am proud to be part of the “inflammatory conservative” readers of hers…after all, last time I checked, there is freedom of speech. Remember, “dissent is the highest form of patriotism,” or maybe that only applies to Democrats and flaming liberals when a Republican is in office.
Michelle, thanks for all you do!
Michelle,
Much thanks for clearing this up!
And here’s some tasty red meat for the gang:
http://littlegreenfootballs.com/article/34873_Anatomy_of_an_Outrageous_Outrage/comments/#ctop
This is getting old…
It all comes down to interpretations. What do liberals regard as, dangerous? Sour? Angry? Incivil?
Further, what do they think liberty means? Freedoms? Shall no be infringed?
You see, with me, the meanings of these words never change. With liberals, they change with the season, with the cause, with the color of the man, or whenever it suits their agenda.
We, as conservatives, use words to sway, convince, or change minds with logical thought. Liberals, for some reason, are incapable of logically forming an argument, and because of that, they MUST use common terms in negative ways to demean, villify, condemn, and demonize those in opposition of their views.
It’s unnerving to think how many of these types of people are in positions of power in government, and in the schools. Thank God actual rational thinkers are still commanding our military. We must not relax and think they are not trying to compromise that leadership, as well!
These women are out of their league in trying to tangle with MM. She will knock their curve balls out of the park.
The reason is obviously that there is no logical argument. The only option at that point is Ad Hominem attack. You can’t deal with the logic, so discredit the person rather than the argument. AKA politics.
With Culture of Corruption, MM has become a force and voice that must be reckoned with. Much easier attack her than her well researched and reasoned logic. It will backfire.
Go Michelle! Mmmm, mmm, mmm!
Libs just throw up nonsense that sounds somewhat plausible to the uninformed in the hope that it sticks in order to forward their agenda. Climate Change has NADA to do with climate change.
You try and address the issues and wham!
Look at the reporter who asked Al Gore a substative question his Global Warming movie. The response? The man’s microphone was cut off and he was escorted out.
There was more discussion of issues at the Salem Witch Trials. That is why these people need to be met head on with candor and without backing off one inch no matter how hard they cry “foul.”
I am amused by Charles Johnson on this one. He accepted every single thing that the Post wrote without a single thought otherwise. A quick Google search discovers a lot of disdain for the Washington Post before – you know – the right-wing went Nazi and all of that.
Sharp Left Turn only
No one reads the Wapo anymore except for Washington liberals. Who really cares what they put on their front or back page? It is irrelevant.
I’m not horrible!
These example emails that MM often receives denigrating her ethnic background and her sex are apalling.
Sadly, they are crude examples of shallow-minded, poorly educated bigots who are hard-wired to react in this manner. Talk about incivility, these negative references to MM’s Filipino background are especially petulant and deserve my special lambasting criticism.
Hey, why don’t you start by washing your collective mouths out with a huge bar of your favorite soap?
And furthermore, the Filipino people who fought beside us in WWII do not deserve to have their ethnic backgrounds slurred by spoiled bratty racist low-brows who are not worthy to even fetch them a glass of water.
Dear Asian Assed, Filipino-veined woman with thick lips,
I am writing to complain of your incivility…
I wonder how long before Congress and Obama, flex their muscles, and, like all other power-hungry leaders, nationalize the newspapers…in the interest of national security, of course, bailouts, and/or “fairness”. They are already looking at “fairness doctrines” so don’t think it is absurb. I wonder then how the MSM will take having censors; probably think it’s grand being from the “messiah”.
Wow! Pravda On The Potomac admits you exist on the FRONT PAGE!
Does anybody, outside 1600 Penn Ave, still read these morons at the post?
At this point the “National Enquirer” has got to be the newspaper of record in America…
Modern-day liberals are past masters of the highest expression of hypocrisy: the blatant double-standard.
Given their own consistently boorish behavior — which manifests itself in the attitude of, “You-can’t-possibly-have-an-honest-disagreement-with-me-so-therefore-it-must-be-an-expression-of-’hate’” — for anyone of the leftist persuasion to tut-tut anyone on the right about “civility” is so insulting to the intelligence as to induce a state of near-shock … except that I have become so accustomed with their oafishness and their flaming hypocrisy that nothing shocks me about them anymore.
I expect the worst, the lowest, and the most vile from libs and lefties, and they never — never — fail to deliver.
the media is now nothing more than a PAC. it/they should be looked at and treated as such. can’t remember the show or date, but i remember nyt ed BK exclaiming proudly on the air that bush didn’t realize the “we are a political entity”.
There’s no reasoning with fools. Now I know why Pam Geller calls the Leftists PUTZES. They are unreasoning, illogical, and hate-filled.
WaPo is fat becoming an NYT clone.
Regulus, you got it in one: expect the worst, the lowest, and the most vile from libs and lefties, and they never — never — fail to deliver.
How did they describe the nation’s discourse when Bush was in office. I seem to rememebr lots of hateful and angry claims that “Bush lied and people died.” There were lots of Hitler comparisons and hanging or burning of politicians in effegy was considered patriotic dissent.
For 8 years I had to listen to these people attack George Bush and conservatives. I don’t think now is time for the “folks who created this mess to do a lot of talking. I want them to get out of the way so we can clean up the mess.”
The WaPo writer impunes Malkin’s character and gives her a few minutes/hours notice via email, on the weekend no less, to respond. Totally unprofessional. Who’s her supervising editor?
You should demand that she print a correction about the email not being answered. She made it sound like you were ducking the issue. A few hours before press time is not reasonable. It is like letting the phone ring once and then hanging up and saying that no one answered the phone. It is a practically a lie.
Can’t be, they went after liberal John Edwards with a passion…
Dispense with the emotional rants, dispense with the biased and unfounded allegations, discuss facts, discuss actual situations and real-world results and consequences.
Just a thought.
I saw on Fox today that there are parents there today protesting the school.
I can tell you that if someone did that with my kids(especially posting it on Youtube without my consent), hell hath no fury of a mother taken advantage of.. As a mother, I’d go for the jugular.
I see Michelle made Obama’s top 25 hit list. I want to be on that list
Obama is as small minded as politicians come, so watch out.
Gerhart: “But that would mean that Malkin’s comments would have shown that my story was without merit. I couldn’t have that since it would ruin my narrative and already-drawn conclusions.”
For a fine example of how “civil” liberals are in the most liberal city of San Francisco you have to watch this video of the reaction local Democrats had to Gov. Schwarzenegger appearing at their fundraiser.
Warning: The language they used is not appropriate for children!
That “reporter” who tried to contact Michelle on Saturday morning can’t have school aged kids. Anyone with a brain knows that any parent with kids is ALWAYS busy on Saturday carting kids around to their activities. Why would she expect to find a busy, working mom hanging by her email/phone for a short 3 hour window mid-day on a Saturday to answer her inane questions?
Also, how could ANYONE perceive those emails that Michelle sent asking questions as hate filled or impolite?
What does Obama call it? Getting all wee wee’d up? Geesh, liberals have very thin skin.
And speaking of skin, why are liberals so focused on the color of someone’s skin? Geesh, those idiots who sent “hate mail” are displying the very bad character that they are complaining to Michelle about.
People who try to defend Obama and anything about Obama, just are not rational. Not anymore. There is nothing RATIONAL about what is going on with him and around him.
Sounds like the title of an upcoming best seller. Start writing.
Blah blah blah. More left wing political bigotry on display. Expect it to continue far into the future so long as it’s not labeled for what it is by the targets of this bigotry.
The left has basically replaced it’s racial bigotry with political bigotry, barely changing the subtitles.
Already been written. “Unhinged:Exposing Liberals Gone Wild”
I don’t think the reporter is attempting to register her OWN perception–she’s trying to SHAPE the perception for thoughtless drones on the Left (like the ones that hectored Michelle with mail after the article was posted) using a redefinition of “incivility” that essentially means asking tough questions of your side.
Of course that definition did not obtain during White House Press meetings with President Bush…
Funny how its her YouTube channel, with her name blazoned on the title – yet she blames an ‘associate’ for posting it. I wonder if she would have taken the credit if everyone had said ‘good job!’….
As for the email message – funny how the left just can’t hold back on the sexual or racial references when whineing about someone who’s asian, female, or non-white.

Exactly!
…and in other news, the denizens of Vast Right Wingnuttistan remain unable to withstand the kind of attacks they routinely use on persons of Alternate Ideologies. (c.f., Beck, Glenn, rape, murder, 1990).
Ah, poor, defenseless, wittle Wingnuts…
But don’t worry, your Sky-God(tm) is on your side, and you’ll “Get Your Reward In a Better Place(tm)!”
For the record: Caughlin was a socialist.
What problem could Miss Carney-Nunes possibly have with these questions from Michelle? Unless Miss Carney-Nunes recognized that she’d been caught brainwashing the kids…..that’s what her response says to me.
Which .gov agency? Is that a state secret? Lemme guess… Department of Education?
The criminalization of conservatism continues.
Michelle Malkin: Were you at this place at this time?
Leftist Moron: You vile, evil person, how could you ask such questions!
MM: Did you have anything to do with the event that tool place at that location at that time?
LM: I can’t believe the hateful tenor in your questions!
MM: Did you deliver a lesson at this place at this time?
LM: I refuse to respond to your angry, hate-filled diatribes and I am going to report you to the police for hate speech! You dark-skinned, lick-lipped racist!
“WaPo — leading the charge into left-wing, lunatic editorializing on the front page!”
Actually, I think Michelle’s lips are lovely…as is the rest of her.
I just emailed some comments to the WaPo Ombudsman at:
ombudsman@washpost.com
I’m POSITIVE we will see some fast action on this in tomorrow’s paper.

What a hack Gerhart is. Typical of the slugs infesting the drive-by media.
Oooooh. That was quick.
See the nice response I got from Mr. Ombudsman?
I’m sure he is looking into my comments while he is out.
