I remember last year when this became law. That same weekend I was a the shopping center parking lot, and some idiot, talking on his phone, ran a stop sign in front of me. Good thing I WAS paying attention to his irresponsible behavior.

I can’t stand distracted drivers on their cell phones. If someone’s driving around in a parking lot (for cryin’ out loud), than PARK THE CAR and talk on the phone.

I have a better solution to the “problem” of using cellphones while driving: Require all cars, trucks and SUVs sold in the United States have manual transmissions only. That ought to keep drivers busy enough to not even bother with using a phone at the same time.

While we’re at it, can we also get rid of cup holders and cruise control, also for the same reason? And finally, I’d also like to see car stereos removed so that drivers can actually hear the outside world (i.e. emergency sirens and the like) and once again pay attention to traffic!
