The parents should be punished? So when the 15-year-old gang-banger shoots someone in a turf war are they saying the parents should go to jail, too?

I've been reading what the DUmmies have to say on this matter (so you don't have to). For the most part they think the inflexible policy is stupid as much as any rational person would. But there are more than a few comments in the threads stating that the parents must be "right-wingers who staged the whole thing just to provoke a reaction". I also read a few that stated rules are rules, he should be suspended and the parents should be, in some way, punished as well. Ah DUmmies, they are never a disappointment. LoL. What I have not seen yet, but am anxiously awaiting, is what they will say about the 17 year old eagle scout. You can bet that there will be just oodles of comments about the Scouts views toward gays, etc.

Respectfully, making our kids cannon fodder in the daily skirmishes of this war is NOT the answer!

And I disagree. Our children are going to inherit this world and - on a daily basis - liberals are out there, through our schools and universities and governments, trying to undermine our authority as parents. The only way our kids will learn to combat this is if we teach them WHY such policies are wrong and respectful, but effective, ways of resisting such nonsense.

Expecting a collapse of the public school system is not the answer; in fact, causing such a mass exodus might further encourage legislators to make public school compulsory (don't think they haven't entertained that thought). I believe public schools have a role and purpose, but that it's been lost in the politically correct BS that passes for "education" these days, at the hands of PC bureaucrats who are in it for personal gain and NOT to educate kids. Taking this war to them, on the turf of the schools, is exactly the answer.

YOU pay tax dollars to support public schools. WE pay tax dollars to support public schools. Removing our kids will NOT end that funding. So we must make our voices heard.

Englishqueen01,

Respectfully, making our kids cannon fodder in the daily skirmishes of this war is NOT the answer!

Fighting the war on their terrain is NOT the answer!

Getting bogged down in relatively petty skirmishes is NOT the answer.

We need to destroy their ability to wage war against our values through our children! Mass action is the answer but the best mass action is to have all conservatives take their kids OUT of public schools!

Fight to accomplish the strategic objectives and get sidetracked on peripheral issues. We need to destroy the unholy union of leftist government and leftist unions in education. Sporks and Christmas Carols won't reclaim control of the institutions!

A war is a series of skirmishes. This is one victory; parents need to continue winning these skirmishes – no matter how trivial, irksome, or time-consuming they seem – and the victory will be ours.

Two words my husband taught me: MASS DISOBEDIENCE. Perhaps sending kids to school with sporks en masse isn’t the best example, but when schools ban “Merry Christmas” or red and green, parents should unite so every kid goes to school looking like one of Santa’s elves, with Christmas carols ringing from their lips and iPods.

That sort of mass uprising will help quell these bureaucrats gone wild.

The main point should be the following:

One young boy didn't have his life destroyed by a corrupt, self-serving institution paid for with tax dollars

but

the corrupt, self-serving institution remains completely and utterly unchanged and will repeat the same stupid behavior over and over again until we force them to stop this idiocy!

Little Zachary's parents won a skirmish but we are losing the war!

Take your kids out of public schools! Fight for control of the school boards! But get your kids out of the insane environment FIRST! Don't make them endure an environment that makes "1984" look rational!

Note-the ACLU and United Way both tried to force the Boy Scouts to accept gay non-parent Scoutmasters and lost that fight. It's always a different story when bullies are confronted by people who are willing to fight for their beliefs.

I'll be impressed when the ACLU sues a school district for setting up a Muslim school paid for by tax payor dollars.

that was the 1st thing I thought of when seeing the story...what kind of idiot is teaching our kids...no sense at all...as Fred Thompson says:"why do they call it common sense when it's so uncommon".

Here's the clincher for me, a direct result of the NEA, we are paying these educators(loosely used term) 6 figures so they don't or can't make a decision...jeeezz o pezzz o what has this country come to...bunch of whiny ass libs afraid to live and learn.

This is one of many cases from what I've read the last few days...this young man of 6 yrs. of age was going to be thrown in with juvenile delinquents to learn what, to be a real problem for society. Can you imagine the damage to a child that age being thrown in the lion's den...what a bunch dumb as@#$...and their setting the curriculum in our schools.

I've heard all the false arguments about "this could have happened and or that could have happened", but none of them did and let me tell you why. This young man was no raving maniac at 6 yrs. old, he was a loved, cared for, well adjusted child who's parents took an interest in him, teaching him how to act and accept responsibilities even at his age. something that the teacher and principle and board members should have been exposed to in their lives.

For any parents worried about the "could have happened" maybe you should raise your children in a protective bubble.

Zero tolerance is zero thinking.
