Dear RNC: What part of “NO” don’t you understand?

By Michelle Malkin  •  October 16, 2009 02:50 PM

Reader Sarah sent me her response to the RNC survey she received yesterday.

I know this isn’t the only pushback the Big Labor-backing, Margaret Sanger Award recipient-funding, bailout cheerleader-supporting RNC is going to receive:

Yo, Michael Steele: What up?

In the time it takes to create a third party that wins elections, Obama will have made this country a one party disctatorship like Stalin’s USSR or Hitler’s Germany, or, maybe, Mao’s China, his people seem to be Maoists, and the conservatives who would be running for political office on a third party ticket will be in re-education camps, if they haven’t been executed first.

A few years ago, in Aurora IL, a conservative African-American ran for mayor as a Republican. The party did nothing, as opposed to seizing a great opportunity. The IL GOP is like a “Ship of Fools” and it appears the NY GOP is taking notes from them. The only good news is that if she switches parties, she becomes an issue for the Dems.

Incidentally, as quixotic as it may seem, this is why I’ve always supported term limits.

Political leaders in both parties always tend towards more statism the longer they are in the beltway (speaking generally). Dems go from moderately Left to crazy and Repubs go from solid conservatives to go-along-to-get-along RINOs (oftentimes just in certain areas).

There is a kind of political entropy (bad analogy) where things wind down from limited goverment and personal freedom to statism. Breaking that tendency by not allowing people to camp out for 30 and 40 years in the same elected office would go a long way to regularly “refreshing” the cause of liberty and eliminating the growth of an entrenched political class.

My response was to waste their postage and mail it back with a screed that was – in a nutshell – I am working as vigorously for a true Conservative grass roots party to displace you as I ever did with the Republican Party to gain seats over the Democrats.

The Democrats I understand and almost admire because they unfailingly are who they are … treasonous rat bast*** who will sell out America for more monkey lube and a chance to spit on soldiers. They are traitors, thieves, brigands, rapists, murderers, baby killers, moral corruptocrats and every other vile definitive in the book … but at least they are true to who they are.

The Republicans on the other hand are the virus in our political body; they were handed the legacy of the true American Spirit and proceeded to so befoul themselves and sell us down the river that I CAN NEVER EVER TRUST THAT PARTY AGAIN.

In 1976 the Dems could have won the WH with Donald Duck. Nixon turned out bad and the economy was headed down. Ford may have been an okay guy, but he was basically a stand in holding the bag. No repub was going back to the WH in 76.

Fast Forward to 2006. Everyone was so unhappy with the war and the repubs spending that it became pretty easy to win. Then by 2008 the economy had worsened. Obambi won by casting McCain as Bush III, and no one was happy with Bush II. They won because of conditions and the poor performance of “centrist” repubs, NOT because they were “electable.”

They couldn’t be more out of touch with what their constituents want. The only way to get it through to them is to send them back to the 9 to 5 jobs they had before they were elected to represent us.

I just recently did the same thing that everyone else is doing. Today I called the two numbers in Washington DC that Michelle listed in her other post about the “left of the Democrat” candidate in NY 23 and told the people who answered the phone what I thought of their actions in supporting that idiot woman who claims to be a Republican. One guy asked me to hold and I said OK. When he came back on the line I asked him if the other person was telling him the same thing that I was telling him and he said Yes. STARVE THE “BLATANT” BEAST. Stop buying the liberal crap and thus supporting those who would enslave you too. Cancel your subscription to the local newspaper if it is biased. Get your news online from Michelle and HotAir. Stop buying NFL tickets and merchandise. See if Jerry Jones can pay for his fancy stadium if only 10 or 15 K show up to watch in person. I get my TV over the air and don’t send any money to any of the cable companies who mostly support this statist administration and won’t give you any honest news. Just look at “Balloon Boy” and what a hoax that is turning out to be. It’s as bad as “Global Warming” or “Climate Change”.

Ronald Reagan’s budgets ALL were voted down and replaced with budgets full of ridiculous overspending – to the point where deficits grew at incredible rates DESPITE HUGE INCREASES IN RECEIPTS (which were the direct result of big tax cuts).

Had RWR’s budgets been passed as proposed, the deficit would have been nil, and a huge portion of he national debt would have been retired.

It is true that Reagan wasn’t as conservative as would be required to correct the current crisis, he did succeed in most of the areas he sought to, especially the military. Thank God for that.

Sadly, given the socialist takeover of the political parties in power today, Reagan would, indeed be too liberal for America’s current needs.

In the spirit of this post, I am going to copy here two emails I sent to the MA GOP in 2008. Please excuse the repeating of certain comedic references, but at the time it was (and is still) the closest thing to the truth I have found.

    The first, From March 2008:

    Good evening,

Let us get all of the specifics out of the way from the get-go: I am a
    32 year old Proud Conservative. I work a blue-collar job. I drive a
blue-collar car. I have a value system that makes me think I was born about 40 years too late.

The reason I am writing is to express my dismay at how the GOP is
publicizing their ideals in Massachusetts. To say that life imitates art in this area would be an understatement. Watching each political cycle, the public perception reminds me of Monty Python’s Life Of Brian. Specifically, I am thinking of the “People’s Front Of Judea Committee” scenes combined with the Governor’s meeting from Mel Brook’s Blazing Saddles. This is NOT a good thing! Every election cycle, I see people putting out a few points and lines, a bunch of harrumphs emanating from the gallery, then nothing. To say that this saddens me greatly would be a gross understatement.

I have been thinking about the problems of the GOP in Massachusetts at length, and I believe I have hit upon a core issue: Many people are AFRAID to call themselves Republican due to the perceived stigma.

I can give you two examples of this.

The first is my neighbor, two doors down from me. He is a self-professed
“gun-loving Democrat” who, while often professing free-market ideals, insists on allying himself with the Democrat party. In his case, I think he is relating a bit to the pre-FDR Democrat party which held many of the same ideals that Conservatives do today.

The second is a very good friend of mine currently residing in Virginia.
She consistently refers to herself as a Liberal Democrat, yet whenever we have a moral or political discussion, she agrees with the Conservative stances.

These two examples lead me to believe there has become a massive disconnect
between what the Republican party, specifically the CONSERVATIVE Republican
party, is perceived to believe vs actual beliefs. Until this perception is changed, the Massachusetts GOP will remain a distinct minority.

I will be very honest: While I am going to vote for McCain in the General
Election, but I will do so while holding my nose. Many in the media call
McCain a “maverick” — I call him a traitor to the Conservative wing of the
Republican party. He does not hold many of my ideals, but the alternative
    is guaranteed to be worse.

The ejection of Conservative morals, values and stances from the GOP
deeply saddens me. I can only hope that these are someday restored.

    -

And now, the second in response to a money beg email. This was a couple of weeks after the 2008 Election:

You want me to get active? Tell me why I should think that the GOP will not turn into another rendition of Monty Python’s “People’s Republic Of Judea Committee” scenes.

The GOP wants me to get active, yet I see three weeks of blustering followed by meekness on EVERY CAMPAIGN CYCLE.

The GOP wants me to get active while national GOP “think tanks” that apparently truly control all the purse strings and ideals in the “Republican” party pull ads out of hotly-contested races in multiple states.

The GOP wants me to get active in a party that has long decided, on a state and national level, that the only way to “get votes” is to keep moving farther and farther to left in some misguided, all-inclusive “tent” that waters down what I really believe in.

You want me to get active? Then start proving that the GOP, *ESPECIALLY* the MA GOP, will not continue it’s ways of preaching only to the choir, failing to put the needed public support and financing behind local and regional races and actually *GROW A PAIR* for once.

Until then, if I want to be part of the clown car, I will run away and join a circus.

    Sincerely,

    An Angry Conservative
