I just mailed the survey back with "NY-23 No More Rinos" in red marker on it.

At a minimum, mail the envelope back without a stamp. That's a few cents that the RNC won't be able to send to Scozzafava etal.

Yashmak and I are on the same page. I am insulted by the ridiculous and obvious questions. I've written as much on the stupid survey's before, but it doesn't do any good. Now, I just throw them in the trash without opening.

I don't think any politician really cares about the issues. They merely want to get re-elected and vote themselves as much from the public coffers has they can. Unless and until we get term-limits for all offices, we'll never see any meaningful improvement.

Where the he-- are the Repubs and exactly what is their position on those issues critically important to us conservatives? Until I hear them speaking out loudly and plainly and see them demonstrating and standing with Tea Party attendees - I don't want to hear a damn thing from them!

I simply wrote to them that when they finally get around to sending out a survey that demonstrates a genuine interest in my opinions on the issues, rather than simply an obvious envelope stuffer for yet another request for money, I would consider filling out said survey, and might consider donating to them again.

I have been sending back their "surveys" without $$ for 2 years, ever since they backed RINOS in the primary. I write in dark sharpie pen, "NO RINOS, NO AMNESTY, STOP SPENDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!" across their "surveys". Then I write in the names of the candidates that I am sending the funds to directly, bypassing them. The survey I got this week will have Hoffman's name and Rubio's name on it. I also found this guy who is running against a liberal dem in IL. He took on Barney Frank at a forum in Harvard. Donate to him, too if you all wish.

I wrote SHAME all over my RNC survey. I never send in money with those anyway- never know where it is going. but I like filling them out every so often and putting my own comments. Can't believe they don't support Hoffman- I know some do but are intimidated

<blockquote>But that’s okay. We were screwed no matter who won in 08. Deficit would have been that high or higher.

Yup.
</blockquote>

Exactly!

GOP-RIP

It really is time for American citizens to have representation by people who support:

The Constitution (including 2A)

The rule of law (vigorous immigration enforcement and no amnesty)

Fiscal Sanity (we have no hope of paying for what has been promised already)

Neither current party offers such people.

In the spirit of this post, I am going to copy here two emails I sent to the MA GOP in 2008. Please excuse the repeating of certain comedic references, but at the time it was (and is still) the closest thing to the truth I have found.

The first, From March 2008:

Good evening,

Let us get all of the specifics out of the way from the get-go: I am a
32 year old Proud Conservative. I work a blue-collar job. I drive a
blue-collar car. I have a value system that makes me think I was born about 40 years too late.

The reason I am writing is to express my dismay at how the GOP is
publicizing their ideals in Massachusetts. To say that life imitates art in this area would be an understatement. Watching each political cycle, the public perception reminds me of Monty Python's Life Of Brian. Specifically, I am thinking of the "People's Front Of Judea Committee" scenes combined with the Governor's meeting from Mel Brook's Blazing Saddles. This is NOT a good thing! Every election cycle, I see people putting out a few points and lines, a bunch of harrumphs emanating from the gallery, then nothing. To say that this saddens me greatly would be a gross understatement.

I have been thinking about the problems of the GOP in Massachusetts at length, and I believe I have hit upon a core issue: Many people are AFRAID to call themselves Republican due to the perceived stigma.

I can give you two examples of this.

The first is my neighbor, two doors down from me. He is a self-professed
"gun-loving Democrat" who, while often professing free-market ideals, insists on allying himself with the Democrat party. In his case, I think he is relating a bit to the pre-FDR Democrat party which held many of the same ideals that Conservatives do today.

The second is a very good friend of mine currently residing in Virginia.
She consistently refers to herself as a Liberal Democrat, yet whenever we have a moral or political discussion, she agrees with the Conservative stances.

These two examples lead me to believe there has become a massive disconnect
between what the Republican party, specifically the CONSERVATIVE Republican
party, is perceived to believe vs actual beliefs. Until this perception is changed, the Massachusetts GOP will remain a distinct minority.

I will be very honest: While I am going to vote for McCain in the General
Election, but I will do so while holding my nose. Many in the media call
McCain a "maverick" -- I call him a traitor to the Conservative wing of the
Republican party. He does not hold many of my ideals, but the alternative
is guaranteed to be worse.

The ejection of Conservative morals, values and stances from the GOP
deeply saddens me. I can only hope that these are someday restored.

-

And now, the second in response to a money beg email. This was a couple of weeks after the 2008 Election:

You want me to get active? Tell me why I should think that the GOP will not turn into another rendition of Monty Python's "People's Republic Of Judea Committee" scenes.

The GOP wants me to get active, yet I see three weeks of blustering followed by meekness on EVERY CAMPAIGN CYCLE.

The GOP wants me to get active while national GOP "think tanks" that apparently truly control all the purse strings and ideals in the "Republican" party pull ads out of hotly-contested races in multiple states.

The GOP wants me to get active in a party that has long decided, on a state and national level, that the only way to "get votes" is to keep moving farther and farther to left in some misguided, all-inclusive "tent" that waters down what I really believe in.

You want me to get active? Then start proving that the GOP, *ESPECIALLY* the MA GOP, will not continue it's ways of preaching only to the choir, failing to put the needed public support and financing behind local and regional races and actually *GROW A PAIR* for once.

Until then, if I want to be part of the clown car, I will run away and join a circus.

Sincerely,

An Angry Conservative
