Tea Party for Obama: A San Francisco treat
We chuckled the other day about the San Francisco Chronicle item on the White House angst over possible protests during President Obama’s visit yesterday.
Well, the protesters came out in full force — on the left AND the right.
The City Square has photos of the eclectic Tea Party — which won’t be featured on the White House photo gallery any time soon.
A few of my favorites:

I think it’s time for Tea Party protests in the D.C. offices of the NRCC and Newt Gingrich. How about you?

I love the last sign “Instead of apologizing for America, apologize TO America.
Amen brother.
Wow, that’s in San Francisco???
Cool!
And I thought all that happened yesterday was a six year floated off on a balloon … then didn’t.
Silly media
ABSOLUTELY ! !
The RNCC, Newt, state RCC’s all have the impression we are still Repub Robots, who will pick their candidates as the lesser of two evils.
All concerned need to understand those days are OVER.
Amen!
We need another million person march on DC, this time march right up to the place they are “debating” the health care takeover. They need to see us all out there…up close and personal. This needs to take place during the week, during the time they are actually in there “working”, so they will see us!! Last time, they were not there, and hardly anyone reported the massive gathering!
preach it!
If McShame hadn’t picked Palin, I’d have voted for either Bob Barr or Mickey Mouse.
(I’m still mad at Johnny Boy for bringing her on the scene too quickly. Sarah might still recover, but she would have been a lot stronger with more time as gov under her belt.)
How long until the NYTimes calls the Kool-aid sign racially insensative?
Seeing this in SAN FRANCISCO leads me to believe there is HOPE, and maybe even CHANGE on the horizon… What a CROWD!!! My favorite, APOLOGIZE TO AMERICA!!! MMM, MMM, MMM!!!
I will add Bill O’Reilly to that pack.
If anyone really believes that Ginrich, like Schwarzeneger, like Dole aren’t liberals in conservative clothing by now, they need a head and heart check.
It is past time to steamroll past the Repubs if they won’t back conservatives. I still remember how they didn’t back Linda Smith against Sen. Patty Murray back in ’98 until a month before the election, and then treated her candidacy agisnt Murray as unimportant.
(Ms. Malkin..I enjoyed the spoof of the “Rice-a-Roni” commercials in this thread title, BTW)
” . . . which won’t be featured on the White House photo gallery any time soon.”
Yep, this is no doubt true.
Everyone has their own agenda and will show the pictures, definitely their favorites, that they like, and won’t show pictures that the do not like, or disagree with.
That’s in San FranSICKO!?!?
There’s hope for California yet!
The local news is
whitewashingreporting “hundreds” begging obama for health coverage and to end the war.Oh yeah, a few crazy people “hating on him” with pre-printed signs.
In other news, the NY times is coming out with an SF version of the paper, doing what is necessary since they’ve started to suffer because of the “economic downturn”.
Which side did the Gay Communist Gun Club fall in on?
Wow! Just WOW! From California of all places! Love the signs, gave me some ideas for the next TEA party protest I go to.
Sarge
I love the creative signs of the “mob”!!
The local group is joining another mob to go to a radio station with noisemakers of all sorts (their weapons of choice!) and will be chanting “CAN YOU HEAR US NOW??”
God bless America!
Breaking!! MSNBC Keith Olberman says; only 2 people showed up to protest Obama in SF.
And further states they were right-wing extremist w/guns and hate Obama because he is black. These people must be shutdown because they’re racists!!!!!!!!!
Wouldn’t do any good. He, and congress, treat it as out-of-date. To them, it has as much relevance as the Articles of Confederation. Trouble is, they know they can get away with it…for now.

Might I suggest when they’re all trying to leave for their long weekends? They only work, what, three days a week? I think they’d get really ticked if the streets are too congested for them to get to the airport.
As good as those signs were, give me Steve McQueen flying through the hills in a green Mustang fastback! Now that’s a San Francisco treat!
I don’t hate Obama because he’s black.
He’s actually only half-black, but he’s our first
100% Red President
back to the future with a ‘Bullitt’, Rogue!
A man’s man, not one of these effete metrosexual buyers of bad African art.
Absolutely Michelle. Taking the movement back across party lines would be the best thing we could do.
What movie spoofed that with the little RC car wired with explosives – do you remember? I laughed out loud during that chase scene. I thought it was brilliant!
Great to see this going on in my hometown! I wish I could have made it, too, but I had plans that I simply could not get out of.
Take heart all…I work at UCSF and I interact with a LOT of the prominent researchers and I’m actually finding more and more that many of them are closet detractors regarding BO and his cronies.
I recently visited one very dynamic researcher and just happened to mention my displeasure (putting it mildly) with BO, and she literally stopped everything, stood up, and said “Let me shake your hand!” It turned out we were both completely on the same page regarding BO and how much we both cannot stand him and think he is leading this country to ruin.
It was very satisfying and gave me true hope that a real change is coming
…
Read this. I found some of the comments deliciously ironic.

I don’t know that one, but there is a youtube called Empires Strikes Bullitt where the Millenium Falcon is being chased through the asteroid belt to the sound effects of the Bullitt Mustang and Charger chase.
I might agree if we didn’t face disaster from Osama Obama and his totalitarian thugs in Congress.
The first order of business has to be to make our displeasure with treason visible to those who are committing it. A million people circling the White House, a million surrounding the criminals of the House and Senate might deliver a message they couldn’t miss.
Don’t like Newt? I don’t either, but compared to the Chicago Jesus, he is stunningly irrelevant and harmless.
Democrats laugh when these little tea-time tiffs between “conservatives” flare up. While we are distracted by differences in religious beliefs and whether “moderates” are worth talking to, the left marches on.
The Tea Party express is on the move….you know you’re doing something right when the libs are ticked off, lying, and name calling. I love seeing their frustration and we need to be in their face. To find out if the Express is coming your way, link to:

I am just smiling — there is life in San Fran after all –
The problem with some of the seemingly conservative leadership, past and present, is that their values seem to get “tempered” once they arrive in Washington.
Stop trying to be liked, and start doing what’s right, regardless of whom you peev off.
Those people, no matter what, will always be dissatisfied and unhappy, no matter what they’re conceded.
The appeasers and the ones they attempt to appease need to be run out of our nation’s capitol. Nothing else will matter, unless that task is tackled first.
They wouldn’t give a gnatt’s a$$ about us.
There were multiple protests in SF. It is hard to tell which ones were bigger as the local SF news crews are simply not to be trusted. About the only thing in they had in common with each other were their dislike of Obama.
Meantime, there is the missing reason for Obama to be there. If you saw the sound bite of Obama saying ‘we need more California democrats’ you had to be wondering why? There is a MAJOR problem brewing for Obama in CA 10. This fundraiser by Obama was for the democrat that may well LOSE CA 10.
IF the democrats lose CA 10, the blue dogs are going to run from Pelosi. Remember, this is one of those absurdly gerrymandered districts that has never had anything but a democrat since it was drawn up.
The woman holding the “Which beverage were YOU drinking?” sign looks Asian… will Olbermann call her a big mashed up bag of meat with lipstick?
ah well said, stillontheroad.
I lived within a block of all that a little over 10 years ago and a surprising number (for SFC) of conservative people were in the area. Maybe now they are finally speaking up.

To be fair, Rogue, it wasn’t African art.
Not like the authentic stuff I have at home…
rather than apologize to America I’d just as soon as have him step down and return to his birthplace wherever that might happen to be and never again darken the political landscape of America….
So it was bad post modern from a bad Afican artist? I don’t know much about art, but I know what I like.
African! (slap!)
Did you mean the scene in the Dead Zone (Eastwood – Dirty Harry) where he and his partner are chased by that RC car with an explosive strapped to it?
It was “The Dead Pool” from the Dirty Harry series.
Ooops I really did mean Dead Pool! I know better! I own almost every Eastwood movie made!
Time for more coffee…
The more their out of town, the less damage they can do.
I don’t know what that rubbish was, but it wasn’t ‘art’.
I have work done by individual artists, unsung and self-taught.
Not some third-grade ripoff from an entitlement mentality.
It was a great protest in San Francisco last night!
If we can get this many people to turnout in San Francisco, surely the Tea Parties in the rest of the country will be even larger!!!
Keep up the pressure, Patriots!
I was there.
Be aware the crowd was about 1/3rd anti-Obama from Right of Center, 1/3rd anti-Obama from Left of Center, and about 1/3rd pro-Obama.
The pro-Obama folks were just there hoping for sighting their rock star.
The anti-Obama from Left of Center were “pro public option”, “bring the troops home now” / “out of Afghanistan”, and “9/11 was an inside job” loons.
The anti-Obama folks from the Right of Center were the tea party folks, and they seemed pretty much drowned out in the larger crowd. Which is, I think, the point. Expand the crowds, inflate ‘opposition from the Left’ and position Obama as a difference-splitting moderate.
Last week’s gay bashing from the West Wing seemed designed to boost the Left in the streets, but I can’t say I saw much (if any) of a gay rights contingent.
Racist! How dare you protest dear leader.
Dude, we went to the fights the other night and a TEA PARTY broke out!!!
It was awesome!!!

We did pretty well ‘welcoming’ Obama at Texas A&M as well yesterday.
Maybe more MoveOn types should have joined those of us from Dallas who went to College Station; maybe they could learn how to spell and do a better job of acting.
