Tea Party for Obama: A San Francisco treat

By Michelle Malkin  •  October 16, 2009 11:56 AM

We chuckled the other day about the San Francisco Chronicle item on the White House angst over possible protests during President Obama’s visit yesterday.

Well, the protesters came out in full force — on the left AND the right.

The City Square has photos of the eclectic Tea Party — which won’t be featured on the White House photo gallery any time soon.

A few of my favorites:

I think it’s time for Tea Party protests in the D.C. offices of the NRCC and Newt Gingrich. How about you?

    ABSOLUTELY ! !

The RNCC, Newt, state RCC’s all have the impression we are still Repub Robots, who will pick their candidates as the lesser of two evils.

All concerned need to understand those days are OVER.

If anyone really believes that Ginrich, like Schwarzeneger, like Dole aren’t liberals in conservative clothing by now, they need a head and heart check.

It is past time to steamroll past the Repubs if they won’t back conservatives. I still remember how they didn’t back Linda Smith against Sen. Patty Murray back in ’98 until a month before the election, and then treated her candidacy agisnt Murray as unimportant.

(Ms. Malkin..I enjoyed the spoof of the “Rice-a-Roni” commercials in this thread title, BTW)

Take heart all…I work at UCSF and I interact with a LOT of the prominent researchers and I’m actually finding more and more that many of them are closet detractors regarding BO and his cronies.

I recently visited one very dynamic researcher and just happened to mention my displeasure (putting it mildly) with BO, and she literally stopped everything, stood up, and said “Let me shake your hand!” It turned out we were both completely on the same page regarding BO and how much we both cannot stand him and think he is leading this country to ruin.

It was very satisfying and gave me true hope that a real change is coming :)

I might agree if we didn’t face disaster from Osama Obama and his totalitarian thugs in Congress.

The first order of business has to be to make our displeasure with treason visible to those who are committing it. A million people circling the White House, a million surrounding the criminals of the House and Senate might deliver a message they couldn’t miss.

Don’t like Newt? I don’t either, but compared to the Chicago Jesus, he is stunningly irrelevant and harmless.

Democrats laugh when these little tea-time tiffs between “conservatives” flare up. While we are distracted by differences in religious beliefs and whether “moderates” are worth talking to, the left marches on.

The problem with some of the seemingly conservative leadership, past and present, is that their values seem to get “tempered” once they arrive in Washington.

Stop trying to be liked, and start doing what’s right, regardless of whom you peev off.

Those people, no matter what, will always be dissatisfied and unhappy, no matter what they’re conceded.

The appeasers and the ones they attempt to appease need to be run out of our nation’s capitol. Nothing else will matter, unless that task is tackled first.

There were multiple protests in SF. It is hard to tell which ones were bigger as the local SF news crews are simply not to be trusted. About the only thing in they had in common with each other were their dislike of Obama.

Meantime, there is the missing reason for Obama to be there. If you saw the sound bite of Obama saying ‘we need more California democrats’ you had to be wondering why? There is a MAJOR problem brewing for Obama in CA 10. This fundraiser by Obama was for the democrat that may well LOSE CA 10.

IF the democrats lose CA 10, the blue dogs are going to run from Pelosi. Remember, this is one of those absurdly gerrymandered districts that has never had anything but a democrat since it was drawn up.

The pro-Obama folks were just there hoping for sighting their rock star.

The anti-Obama from Left of Center were “pro public option”, “bring the troops home now” / “out of Afghanistan”, and “9/11 was an inside job” loons.

The anti-Obama folks from the Right of Center were the tea party folks, and they seemed pretty much drowned out in the larger crowd. Which is, I think, the point. Expand the crowds, inflate ‘opposition from the Left’ and position Obama as a difference-splitting moderate.

Last week’s gay bashing from the West Wing seemed designed to boost the Left in the streets, but I can’t say I saw much (if any) of a gay rights contingent.
