Culture of corruption: DOJ watch
What do you expect from a crime-coddling crony Attorney General? Real justice and equality under the law? Ha:
Voters in this small city decided overwhelmingly last year to do away with the party affiliation of candidates in local elections, but the Obama administration recently overruled the electorate and decided that equal rights for black voters cannot be achieved without the Democratic Party.
The Justice Department’s ruling, which affects races for City Council and mayor, went so far as to say partisan elections are needed so that black voters can elect their “candidates of choice” – identified by the department as those who are Democrats and almost exclusively black.
The department ruled that white voters in Kinston will vote for blacks only if they are Democrats and that therefore the city cannot get rid of party affiliations for local elections because that would violate black voters’ right to elect the candidates they want.
Several federal and local politicians would like the city to challenge the decision in court. They say voter apathy is the largest barrier to black voters’ election of candidates they prefer and that the Justice Department has gone too far in trying to influence election results here.
Stephen LaRoque, a former Republican state lawmaker who led the drive to end partisan local elections, called the Justice Department’s decision “racial as well as partisan.”
“On top of that, you have an unelected bureaucrat in Washington, D.C., overturning a valid election,” he said. “That is un-American.”
Andy McCarthy’s bottom line: “A 65 percent African-American district, which voted overwhelmingly in favor of Barack Obama, passed a non-partisanship provision by a two-to-one margin, yet the Civil Rights Division decided it knew better and, using an unconstitutional law, dictated its terms. Like our moralizing Attorney General likes to say, “In things racial, we always have been and continue to be, in too many ways, essentialy a nation of cowards.” If that’s true, then Eric Holder’s own Civil Rights Division is Cowardice Central. It shouldn’t have taken much courage to let Kinston be Kinston.”
Meantime, KFYI’s JD Hayworth reports that DOJ officials posed “undercover” as reporters to get into a press conference held by targeted Arizona sheriff Joe Arpaio.

Don’t you just love how when democracy works, they just can’t wait to get their grubby little paws in there and fix it! The arrogance of it all! Blacks are too stupid to know how to vote unless the ballot says Democrat!
Maybe this little enclave will wake up when they realize thier rights are being usurped by an overreaching Federal government.
Hoder and the DOJ’s position on this is condesending and dare I say “raaaacist”.

Fox News also has a story today about real election fraud in upstate New York involving the Democrats also.

The point being… so what. We don’t need to regulate or mandate personal responsibility. If you’re too lazy to take the time to figure out who to vote for, too friggin’ bad. It’s not society’s problem. It’s your problem.

Lately, I’ve been offering my American Friends of African Ancestry my sincere sympathies that the first U.S. president of their race is such a dolt. You would be surprised at the smiles and laughs it brings (of course, none of my friends are Liberal).
The assumption of this decision is that Blacks vote predominantly Democrat, therefore we have to identify the Democrat so the Black voters know where to mark their cross. This is condescending paternalism.
The other assumption is that White voters would not vote for a Black candidate unless he was a Democrat. This is condescending racism.
I have to wonder how these DOJ meddlers have the ability to get into peoples minds and know what they are thinking. We know, though, that isn’t the case, they have just set up two straw men to achieve the result they want.
This is certainly a new development: the Democrat party showing concern for Blacks in a non-election year.

In other news today, the Department of Justice announced the awarding of the St. Louis Rams NFL franchise to the Reverend Al Sharpton’s National Action Network. When reached for comment, Attorney General Holder stated, “Hey, the franchise is bankrupt, so that means it’s not work anything, right? Why are you all wee-wee’d up about us giving away something that’s not worth anything?”

So basically, this is a form of “affirmative action” mixed with liberal paternalism for black voters in this town.
It is obvious that the liberals think that the voters in this town can’t make decisions on their own without the help of “Big Brutha” in the White House. The predominance of blacks puts a racial tone on the decision.
I would be pretty PO’d if I were a voter in that town. They sound both smart and disillusioned with both parties (as am I), and these antics aren’t going to impress them one bit.

Decades of empty promises that disappear as soon as the votes are counted. A arrogant and paternalistic attitude toward the black community. I often wonder what it will take to make some in the Black community wake up to the fact that they are being used big time again and again.
I love it. I don’t know if it would work in Kinston, NC due to possible issues with the Primaries, but a state (like WA ST) with a top 2 primary where the top 2 vote getters move to the general this could work (in theory) and cause utter chaos (especially seeing that the court out here already rulled you could claim your party affiliation without the endorsement of the party).
This is the most wicked, corrupt administration we’ve seen. They do this kind of thing with no regard to what the locals wanted–soley to maintain power and nothing more. They overrode the secured creditors in the automaker bankruptcy case and screwed them in favor of the unions, took dealerships away republicans and gave them to others who turned around and sold them to somebody else. Folks, we’ve got Venezuela going on here. This is what communism does. Smothers its citizens and ‘forgets’ what liberty is. They completely disregard the rules that have governed this nation for years. Throw these people out! It won’t get any better!

I’m remembering when Tiger Woods walked up the 18th at Augusta in ‘97. At 21 years old he had just shattered every record of the Masters, and was the first man of color to don the green jacket. (Not long before the only minority folks at Augusta would be carrying a tray of hors d’œuvres.) Ebony Magazine later decided he was not “black enough”. Never even entered Woods’ thinking. He just wanted to be the best at his chosen profession, and he was (and is).

What the “Department” is saying is that white voters are ra-a-a-a-acist and can only vote for black candidates if they are Democrats.

I don’t even know what that means. I think they meant to say that black voters will vote for blacks only if they are Democrats.
I suspect they are worried that a black conservative/Republican might run and there would be a danger of the black voters accidentally voting for the wrong kind of black candidate.
This is embarrassing. So Holder says that they need to label the candidate “Democrat” so black people know who they’re supposed to vote for. How condescending and arrogant is that? That’s not even the “soft racism of low expectations”. That’s out-and-out racism in its ugliest form!
