This is embarrassing. So Holder says that they need to label the candidate "Democrat" so black people know who they're supposed to vote for. How condescending and arrogant is that? That's not even the "soft racism of low expectations". That's out-and-out racism in its ugliest form!

The department ruled that white voters in Kinston will vote for blacks only if they are Democrats and that therefore the city cannot get rid of party affiliations for local elections because that would violate black voters’ right to elect the candidates they want.

I don't even know what that means. I think they meant to say that black voters will vote for blacks only if they are Democrats.

I suspect they are worried that a black conservative/Republican might run and there would be a danger of the black voters accidentally voting for the wrong kind of black candidate.

I am sure the court was interested in protecting voters of all colors. /sarc

What the "Department" is saying is that white voters are ra-a-a-a-acist and can only vote for black candidates if they are Democrats.

ObaMao is now in the same boat. “My president is black” but not black enough for the demogogues. (we’re gonna cut his nuts off) What’s a messiah to do?

Who said that?

(Grin!)

That racist, bigoted, Jew hating, hate mongering, caste envy promoting, lying, hate filled, self centered, deceitful shakedown artist (who we all know and love, that "Civil Rights" hero, that "Reverend" without an actual church (?)) is a disgrace, but par for the course in 2009 "America" (United States of America).

This is the "New" America, the "America" of the year 2009, when bad is good, and good is bad; when racist are heroes and heroes are racists; when children are "inconvenient" and slaughtering them is a "reproductive right (a la induced abortion), when our elected representative, the President of the United States of America and the members of Congress trash our nation around the world as "evil" and mean, and violent, a horrible place and a horrible, mean peoples, but praise other nations and their violent leaders as "great, wonderful," etc.

Michelle Malkin: Have you thought about printing up a card deck of corrupt officials, like the cards that were printed up during the Gulf War? I think that they would be a great hit and if you need assistance, I think that bloggers would be happy to send in a few bucks. How about it?

Quoting Stephe LaRoque from the article snipped included in the opening thread, "Culture of corruption: DOJ watch" above:

“On top of that, you have an unelected bureaucrat in Washington, D.C., overturning a valid election,” he said. “That is un-American.”

I disagree.

That is not "un-American."

In today's USA that is exactly what "America" has become, just as it is "American" to select a specific news agency and shun them, target a segment of the population (a la "Tea party protesters) and openly attack them and demonize them in the public venue, demonize them, foment racist accusations and attacks against them, and foment hatred against them, and do so with the blessing of the White House, the President of the USA, the Congress, and the Justice Department.

Not American?

Which country is THAT guy living in?

I'm remembering when Tiger Woods walked up the 18th at Augusta in '97. At 21 years old he had just shattered every record of the Masters, and was the first man of color to don the green jacket. (Not long before the only minority folks at Augusta would be carrying a tray of hors d'œuvres.) Ebony Magazine later decided he was not "black enough". Never even entered Woods' thinking. He just wanted to be the best at his chosen profession, and he was (and is).

This is the most wicked, corrupt administration we've seen. They do this kind of thing with no regard to what the locals wanted--soley to maintain power and nothing more. They overrode the secured creditors in the automaker bankruptcy case and screwed them in favor of the unions, took dealerships away republicans and gave them to others who turned around and sold them to somebody else. Folks, we've got Venezuela going on here. This is what communism does. Smothers its citizens and 'forgets' what liberty is. They completely disregard the rules that have governed this nation for years. Throw these people out! It won't get any better!
This is horrible.

On October 20th, 2009 at 11:11 am, John Deaux said:
It’s only a fair election if it turns out the ways the Democrats want. That’s why we should all change our affiliation to Democrat and the candidates should do the same. Now that would be a real Operation Chaos!

I love it. I don't know if it would work in Kinston, NC due to possible issues with the Primaries, but a state (like WA ST) with a top 2 primary where the top 2 vote getters move to the general this could work (in theory) and cause utter chaos (especially seeing that the court out here already rulled you could claim your party affiliation without the endorsement of the party).

Rogue Chedder said: "Blacks are too stupid to know how to vote unless the ballot says Democrat!"

Decades of empty promises that disappear as soon as the votes are counted. A arrogant and paternalistic attitude toward the black community. I often wonder what it will take to make some in the Black community wake up to the fact that they are being used big time again and again.

So basically, this is a form of "affirmative action" mixed with liberal paternalism for black voters in this town.

It is obvious that the liberals think that the voters in this town can't make decisions on their own without the help of "Big Brutha" in the White House. The predominance of blacks puts a racial tone on the decision.

I would be pretty PO'd if I were a voter in that town. They sound both smart and disillusioned with both parties (as am I), and these antics aren't going to impress them one bit.
