All year, FOX has worked 24/7 to block President Obama’s agenda—repeating lies about “death panels,” promoting Tea Party protests, and whipping up fake political scandals.1
Now, President Obama is fighting back. The White House communications director said FOX is a “wing of the Republican Party…let’s not pretend they’re a news network.”2 To draw attention to its biased coverage, President Obama will not appear on FOX for the rest of this year.3
It’s about time Democrats stood up to FOX! Can you sign this petition asking Democrats to support President Obama’s stance by staying off FOX as long as he does? We’ll deliver it to Sen. Lautenberg and Sen. Menendez. Clicking here will add your name:

The petition says: “Democrats should support President Obama’s effort to call out FOX. Please stay off FOX for as long as he does.”
Democrats often appear on FOX in hopes of reaching out to conservative viewers. But FOX cuts off their mic, distorts what they say, or runs biased headlines at the bottom of the screen.4 In the end, Democrats always lose on FOX.
FOX insists there’s a difference between its news shows and its right-wing opinion shows with Glenn Beck, Bill O’Reilly, Sean Hannity, and others.
But in August, FOX’s so-called news shows “aired 22 clips of town hall meeting attendees opposed” to Obama’s health care plans and zero in support. CNN and MSNBC were more fair and balanced.5
In another “news” story, FOX passed off a GOP press release as its own research—typo and all.6
FOX executives now describe the channel as “the voice of opposition” to Obama’s agenda. FOX president Roger Ailes—a former adviser to Nixon, Reagan, and George H.W. Bush—said, “I see this as the Alamo.”7
But a Capitol Hill newspaper reports, “In the House and Senate, Democrats who pledged to follow the administration’s near-boycott of Fox were hard to find, although many expressed support for Obama’s stance.”8

This is such childish behavior on the part of Obama. Just imagine if Bush had done this to network news for running with a false story about his National Guard Fit Reports. This whole administration is like babies run wild. It would be funny if not so serious in it’s consequiences to the American public. What did Baldwin say? There is a cold chill running through this nation. Hmmmmm, now I am agreeing with a far left nut? I’m starting to feel that chill. Fox News deserves to be ostracized. They ran fluff pieces like the Van Jones and ACORN stories and ignored hard news like how bad Fox News is or why the Obama Administration is just like Camelot.
Don’t they realize this is a loosing strategy? The more they make this war against Fox public the more the general public will go check out Fox News like a rubber necker checks out an accident causing a traffic jam.

For all those of you thinking “Who cares? Fox will win the ratings war anyway”, that’s not the point. It’s in the current administration’s interest to see that Democrats speak on the less watched news channels – not because they care about the ratings wars, but because that’s how they can limit people’s exposure to the truth. We just had that report out stating that Obama’s campaign purposely limited the media’s exposure to their candidate during the election. This is more of the same. It doesn’t matter if Fox news wins the ratings game, the Democrats still succeed in keeping their people from getting asked the tough questions or speaking live where they could accidentally go off script.
The more the Democrats can keep all of us peons from seeing and hearing their people speak, the better it is for them. They need an apathetic, uncaring public if they’re going to get their agenda through.
We must be watching two different Fox News channels. All I saw during August was Obama on the tv. Fox carried several of his meetings live and in their entirety. Everytime Barry O has showed up somewhere to speak Fox has been there so I don’t want to hear that crap, as long as the venue was open to the public. Maybe they are talking about some of those meetings held behind closed doors or ones in which only select members of the media were invited.
MOve On is a circle jerk.
So it is a problem that Fox airs “right-wing” opinion shows.
Then why isn’t it a problem that the other networks air left-wing editorials during the so-called newscasts?

FoxNews is doing the job that professional journalists are supposed to do, and they are doing the job that is constitutionally protected. The propaganda from the other “SWEN” organizations is not what the founders had in mind but to protect free speech, they gave it free license.

Winer was crying about CNN hiring Glenn Beck and becoming a “Fox News clone.” And here he is again, same year, telling us what MoveOn wants: “MoveOn members want a Democratic Party that’s fighting for universal health care, solutions to climate change, and a restoration of democracy.”
I think you’re missing the point, not to mention the demographics. Rush appeals to the far right. That’s a given. While the independents don’t care for him, they are appalled at that a talk show host and private citizen is being demonized by the President. It demeans the office and is rather inane.
Rush gets headlines – ObaMao gets nada. I don’t care for Rush all that much either. While I generally agree with his thinking, I find him arrogant and pretentious. But that’s just me.

I watch Fox News Sunday, and I have found Chris Wallace to be quite deferential to any liberal pol that comes on. They definitely get their message out, and the claims of their “mikes being turned off” is patently untrue. Additionally, the panel is equally populated with conservatives and liberals, unlike, say, Matthews show.
Lastly, I just saw an hour long show by Glenn Beck (Health care reform: Second Opinion), which had about 40 real doctors and med students expressing their actual opinions, which ranged from pro to con. No preplanted supporter groups. It is worth the search at YouTube.
