Why are they being prosecuted in open court? Are our military courts considered American courts? I think someone was trying to be too cute by half in adding language about America Courts to the bill. This is not a poison pill. A true poison pill would have been to say ‘civilian courts.’

A military court is an American court for military personnel and those captured in battle by US miltary personnel, only subject ultimately to the US Supreme Court. what the left have been trying to do for years is diminish the authority of miltary courts to the point of only having them decide cases of whether or not an offender should be kept in the military.

Keep in mind they used to execute servicemen for desertion in wartime (declared war, that is)

Side point : I remember some of the people who were against the draft and Vietnam saying to me as a child that they ‘would only go and fight IF the US proper was attacked’…I never believed this for a minute…had there been a proper Declaration of War made, Bush could have legally and morally left our actions in Afghanistan, at least, unassailable, and the Code Pinkos would be in jail where they belong, and not being celebrated as MY equal by the left and slacker media.

I agree with the liberals…we need to use the Geneva Conventions. Anyone read the conventions? I have. “Hello, Gitmo…shoot them”. End of problem and in compliance with the Conventions. Personally, I would look into buying the Pitcairn Isles. Besides, the world declaring them another “Devil’s Island”, it would make a fine prison. Hundreds of miles from anywhere.
