I disagree, RWR, her commitment to Hoffman is very significant.
Palin is a passing fancy, who will at best assist in attempting to move the Republican Party to the right a little bit.

She is not likely to be a major player in that party or any subsequent party that results from the conservative movement, and if you really look closely at her, you will find that you wouldn't want her to be anyway. She is much more Republican than anyone really wants.

Mark my words. The only thing I've gotten wrong is Al Franken going to the Senate, and he needed ACORN-style voter fraud to make that happen.

Yup – I remember those days – you also sometimes had to sit/stand in one place and act as part of the antenna!

Ah yes, those were the good old days. I remember them well.

Remember when the tube would go out and you had to wait a day or two for the tv repairman to come out to the house to replace it? So boring!

Also, only one tv and if your parents got on a star trek re-run kick every evening at 7 p.m., that was time for tonka truck play until the boring show was done and Sonny and Cher came on.

Excuse me, but Star Trek (TOS) was new when I was a teenager, and at first I had to bribe my dad to watch what he called "Wagon Train in space." He got interested when he found out that there was an alien female in a skimpy costume almost every week. Didn't see that on Wagon Train.

Doesn’t do anyone any good as long as:

1. Sarah Palin is a Republican

AND

2. The Republicans aren’t listening.

I disagree, RWR, her commitment to Hoffman is very significant.

Just as a lot of Whigs ended up becoming Republican around 1860, in order to have a truly conservative party (with whatever name it will be called), you have to have people with the integrity and willingness to defect from an established, but moribund movement in order to form its leadership and movement brain trust. It will be critical that for any serious hope of a party that is truly run by conservatives and not beltway insiders, that you have to change the mindset of not only the prospective voter, but also the mindest of its most likely leaders that this kind of movemnet is necessary and possible before it will become reality.

Whatever becomes of Palin, her decision last night is a critical and necessary step toward the kind of change we need in this country or we are doomed to a one party rule by default.

By her endorsement, an "established" and popular leader of modern conservatism is rebelling against the Republican insiders responsible for our mutual disgust of policy..this will omly embolden others to do the same.

What you and I want will mostly occur in small steps before it becomes a raging river of change..There is no way to get around it, in my opinion

but as always, RWR, "trust, but verify"

3. Do you hate the Maple Ridge Wind Farm Project because: 1) it makes a strange whirring noise 2) it disrupts the natural beauty 3) your just jealous because they did not choose YOUR otherwise worthless piece of land to put the tower on?

Try because we just spent decades without DDT to save the eagles, and would rather not have 300 ft flying razorblades killing them off by the thousands.
