Judging from the fact that All Barack Channel, Nothing but Barack Channel, Channel for Barack Soundbites, Channel for Nothing but Nonsense are all losing viewers and Fox News is gaining, I suppose WE watch the watchers.
Where are all of the liberal conspiracy sites on this? If President Bush had done this, the libtards would be hyperventelating about similarities to the Council on Foreign Relations, the Freemasons, the Bohemian Grove meetings, etc., etc.
But when a socialist meets behind closed doors with members of the media, I guess it’s for The Greater Good(tm).
So Olbermann and Maddow were there, but the Organizer-in-chief calls Foxnews “talk radio”?
I read that someone called it the Downstream Media. A perfect description. They are downstream of the real news stories covered by the blogs and talk radio. What’s left over is fluff pieces on Mrs. Bitterman’s fashions or how wonderful Dear Leader is.
What is being kept from the American public about the two-and-a-half hour confab?
I am torn by this. And, it comes down to parsing, and splitting hairs. Does the promise of transparency apply to private meetings, or to legislation, as stated during the campaign.
There is the tradition and history of such meetings in the past. No big deal, correct?
How about a full list of those who attended the off-the-record meeting?
Less torn about this one. Wasn’t there a issue about who was visiting the White House? And, it was resolved to reveal the visitors log publicly. Has revealing the visitors log policy changed? If not, get the logs and publish them.

The fourth estate is more accurately thought of as a fifth column. I recall one MSM commentator some years ago explaining that the MSM effectively gave the democrats a 20 percentage point advantage. I have no doubt that he was correct and more to the point everyone in the MSM believes it, and given that the democrats can only think in political terms, the hate&fear directed against Fox News, Glenn Beck in particular, follows at once.
Probably better that it was secret. What sane person could listen to listen to Obama, Maddow, Olberman, Dowd… for 2 1/2 hours without breaking down? I’d rather be water boarded than sit through a meeting like that.

And I had to listen to Newt touting his new book this morning when my alarm went off. Included in his speil was lying on behalf of Scozzafava. According to Newt, she is anti-tax, pro-small government, against Cap and Tax (like Newt himself ho-ho), pro-family, against Obamacare, and more. I also had to listen to Andy Willians gushingly urge Newt to run for Prez.
I’m going to feel sick all day.
If it was a group of people to give input to the Administration on some issue pertinent to them I don’t have a problem. But when that meeting is with the very group of people that are supposed to be reporting on what that Administration is doing I have a huge problem with that.

If Fox News is not a news organization then I am quite sure this blog doesn’t even exist. It’s not news unless the White House approves.
I have no doubt that the President, weary of setbacks in implementing his Marxist programs, will call his faithful to himself periodically for a Love-Fest; a recharging of the Great One’s mercurial batteries.
The way the current administration and the media work together would make Joseph Goebbels proud.

As for what has become our Voluntary State Media, I can only imagine the jealousy that Hugo Chavez and Vladmir Putin must be feeling right now: to get their own media to submit to the yoke, they had to murder reporters and editors, and physically close down print and broadcast offices through violence or the threat of it.
In comparison, our own Fourth Estate needed no “persuasion” at all — they are only too eager to fall to their knees in supplication.

I heard about this meeting on O’Reilly last night, and I cannot believe this isn’t front page news in all conservative blogs, and in the WSJ. Since when do the people that are supposed to comfort the afflicted, and afflict the comfortable, meet with the President of the US???? This meeting is by itself a smoking gun to show that the media and the democrat party are synonymous at this point, and conspire together to pass the lib/socialist agenda of the left.

I think one of the major problems with Chrissy is his use of liberal amounts of Boar Mate.
Well, judging from the list of attendees at the WH meeting, that’s one group no self-respecting journalist would want to join. But then, none of the attendees are self-respecting journalists, or even opinion leaders. I mean, who would believe Maureen Dowd or Eugene Robinson. But say, wait a minute! Don’t they have a “point of view”, or a “perspective”? Gosh, I think they do! Does Axelrod know about this, or Rahm “dead fish” Emanuel?

This is exactly the kind of thing one would expect from Obama and his team. To exert control over those you need to voluntarily surrender to you, what better way than to bring them into some kind of inner circle, giving them some feeling of exclusivity. Then exclude and demonize one of their group, similar to the way chickens will attack and kill any one of their own when the group perceives it to be injured and vulnerable.
The sun does not shine in this White House or anywhere near it. In fact I don’t believe it shines in Washington DC, if it did we wouldn’t have all this corruption.

I read your NYT link about President Bush meeting privately with conservative radio hosts (not news reporters or their bosses) and one thing was glaringly obvious (at least according to the NYT story). Bush was meeting with people who disagreed with many of his policies in an attempt to reach a common understanding. I’ll bet you dollars to doughnuts there was not a single representative from FoxNews or any other Murdoch news organization (can you say the Wall Street Journal?) present in Obama’s private meeting. If there had been, you know damned well they would have reported it.
So tell us again how this was just like what President Bush was doing.
Are radio hosts not part of the media? DO they not report the news as well as offer opinion? Did you see the picture? No, doubt each individual in the picture does not agree with everything Pres Bush says 100%.
Splitting hairs on this is intellectually dishonest.
Who a President wishes to have in private meetings is their choice. Has been and always will be. Yep, for any and every President, including but not limited to Obama and Bush.

The situation today is different in that Obeyme is having his spokespeople get on every political talk show on TV and say Fox News has an agenda and a perspective that the administration doesn’t like. Why do people who don’t agree with conservitive view points even bother posting on here? Reguardless this issue of media dominace by the Obama Administration cannot be dissmissed as “right wing paranoia” attempts to do so and foster the current system, will only result in civil war, one in which neither faction will win as for the sake of “international peace” UN peace keepers, or other national Militaries will come on to our soil. A broken one might I add.
Did it ever once enter anyones mind thats why other nations help fund various parties and peoples to weaken and bring down the state via civil insurection for the ability and reasson to take our lands? My god even as weakend as we are we STILL make up 50% of global trade. And make no doubts weare devided.
Red States, Blue States, Northerners, Southerns, Liberals, Conservitives, and worse yet a large immigrant population with no loyality to the US, but only in the country thanks to cash or border hopping. And worse of all the so called “moderates” who do nothing till its too late, or at all in either case. For further proof look at our current military, we are demoralized, the Taliban is on the rise we need more troops yet we twiddle thumbs.
As to the media matter, I depend on largely national news services from Japan, China, and ironically Russia, as I can find more “truth” there than I can at home! And of course lovely blogs like this. Obama has made more screw ups in ONE year than Bush has in 8, never mind his “travels” as a “world citizen” his dissrespect to the people he claimed to care for in the wake of Katrina. And yet crickets chirp, last week they said under his leadership, stocks have stoped sliding, the reasission is over, thank god I am smart enough to look for myself and see they still are falling.
More of our boys die in Iraqi and Afghanistan, while the Mr Populae Homecoming King twiddle’s his thumbs, which is far worse than retreat, indifferance is worse than being a coward in terms of war. Yet I see nothng bashing that, no one broadcasting US dead in BIG BOLD NUMBERS like when Bush was in office, Irony. The job of the media is to REPORT THE NEWS, not be a political force, or the backing and shield of one who is clearly a failure.
I’m a bit of a nationalist, so I’m sick of this multi party split that weakens us more, I’m sick of this “we won and had to put up with Bush so now we got our boy!” mindset, I’m sick of our policy being affected by weaker nations, our resources guarding them while they grow fat and rich, I’m sick more so of the lies, dishonesty and corruption thats in out parties, thats in our school’s thats in our work places. And more so the idiots who think we should hold hands with the world, they’ll never hurt us if we are nice.
Look at the nation today and see the truth of that lie, the rest of the world says its our problem the economy has fallen, they plot to replace the dollar, or force us to the table, when is enough enough? And the good of the nation is on the minds of our people, not money or ideology. But lets keep the game going and dance to the tune of others like puppets in a sad show.
