Rap will always be the province of those who call anti-social ravings to a back-beat “music.” As far as I’m concerned, it’ll never evolve beyond it’s putrid origins:

    “Ooga-booga, steal ‘dat car;
Drive me where de crack b*tches are.
    Gonna kill me some cops,
Then chill at my crib an’ b*tch-slap my ho…”

    Or whatever.

Some forms of “expression” need no encouragement or emulation, even in satire.

I detest rap as much as the next sensible person, but this isn’t the stereotypical “gangsta rap” some of you might think it is. If you’re familiar with AlfonZo Rachel’s other YouTube videos – this one is worth the watch. If you’re not familiar with AlfonZo Rachel’s videos, you should check them out.

Rap should be played loud, 24/7 at Gitmo to the detainees.

The only time rap shouldn’t be played is when the detainees are forced to watch French cinema.

Saw this a few days ago via Hot Air. Content is dead on, but is kind of lame in delivery, and way too long.

And I agree rap is glorified noise, not music. Can’t listen for any length of time without headache and indigestion setting in. Sorry, this doesn’t really work.

Not a racist. I have lots of Black music at home.

Gladys Knight, the Temptations, Four Tops, Al Green, Cornelius Bros. & Sister Rose, Marvin Gaye, Drifters, Earth Wind & Fire, the Delfonics, Main Ingredient, etc.

I use it to lower my blood pressure.

Rap does not lower blood pressure on anyone, anywhere.

With the rest of you, I am not a big fan of rap music; however, I do appreciate the words and thoughts presented in the video. The lead astray, msn brain washed, sheep lead to the slaughter mentality minded folks in America need this message.

I applaud Michelle for having the courage to carry this on her blog.

Listen to Rush, listen to Hannity, listen to Fox news; but, that is not reaching those who will never turn those programs on. The conservative, rugged individualism, freedom with responsibility view needs to be presented and this may do it for some.

I challenge you to send this video to those who may otherwise never hear this message.

Thanks again, Michelle. Don’t take the negative comments by others too personally.

Agreed, but it is aimed at the Obama drones, and it is not “rappy” enough for them, and attacks their victicrat mindset, so will probably crash and burn anyway. Zo is an Uncle Tom to them.

Until Arvo Part or Krzysztof Penderecki starts writing wrap (or whatever it’s called), it’s not something I’d spend money on or waste my time listening to. I heard enough of it this summer driving(?) to/from work on I35E.

For some real music, try Part’s “The Beatitudes”, or Lutoslawski’s “Cello Concerto”.

Ya know, I absolutely detest rap music, and being a musician, I don’t consider it a stretch of talent to create rap “music” since all it takes is a sense of rhythm and computer to generate most of the rap you hear today. That being said, I found myself actually listening to this with open ears due to the singular fact that it contained a positive message, and you know what? I actually liked it. Maybe all the negative crap that rap is associated with has created a major bias in my opinion of it, but I’ll support Rachel and any endeavour he undertakes because it’s the right thing to do, no matter what drum he dances to.

Thanks for posting! This was the perfect antidote to last night’s invocation at a dinner for church shelter volunteers. The liberal minister gave an invocation that was heavy on the ’sin of injustice’. Wish I could replay this for him. Plus Robin of Berkeley’s latest at American Thinker.

I’d also like to nominate the video for a new category in the MTV Video Awards: Best Use of a Reagan T-Shirt

I actually said that with the express purpose of getting someone to show their ignorance and bias at thinking they can determine for someone else what is “good” to listen to.
If you are going to actually try and argue that much of the complete NOISE that constitutes Heavy Metal is somehow superior to Rap, well then you’re cultural bias is out big time. Own it.
