Leave the Republican Party and join the Conservative Party.
Can't.

Doug Hoffman' Conservative Party is a local party in New York.

The national Conservative Party is an option, though. There are other options as well.

Sadly, the best way to beat back the Republicrats would be to unite these conservative parties. When that happens, America will be rid of liberals, hopefully for good.

the big tent HAS to be anchored by the conservative base. to allow in rinos in very blue districts who disagree morally or politically with one or more planks of the conservative base is the big tent reagan theory which won. to go with the rnc theory that the rinos will allow conservatives in has lost and is losing in ny23. THE REPUBLICAN PARTY MUST BE THE CONSERVATIVE PARTY, OR THE CONSERVATIVE PARTY WILL BECOME THE CONSERVATIVE PARTY.

I don't think a third party is necessary.

I think the Republican party is going to learn its lesson very quickly.

I follow politics, but not closely enough to know which of the current crop of lesser fish GOP players jumping on the Hoffman bandwagon are sincere, or are just thinking of self-preservation. At least, not without doing a good deal of research. I am very suspicious of anyone throwing their suport to him after waiting weeks to and putting their finger to the wind first. No matter, People who live in their states and districts can handle them. As a registered Ind. I am not the GOP as my standard bearer. You think they would know that, but apparently not from the amount of GOP e-mail I receive. I delete it every day. What I see is a party that is so enamored of itself and so locked into beltway thinking that they are beyond any hope of getting it. They are exactly like Democrats in that they think they know what is best for us. They cannot understand the "I'd rather be right than victorious" attitude I now have. And they never will. I hope Hoffman wins in a landslide. But if he does not, that's okay, it is the message that it sends that counts and real change takes time.. The GOP has to learn that we are not going to accept the crap they offer any longer.

Not just backing Hoffman, but term limits too! I'm liking this guy better all the time.

Can we convince him to move to Maryland? We on the Eastern Shore would welcome him.

How ironic that the Dems have the radical fringe left pulling on them, and the Repubs have the conservative right pulling on them. Both are doing their absolute best to separate these two bedfellows.

Amazing how the R leaders like to tell us what to do and we are supposed to obey. Now we are not. Whats going to happen?

I thought these leaders all met and figured out a strategy to win back the White House and Congress. Was this it? Fight with your base to get them to moderate?

It’s way past time for the spoiler radical leftist Republican Dede Scozzafava to get out of the race.

Which is exactly why I predict she won't and that Newt & Co. are urging her to stay in. Anything to cause pain to the hated conservative base.

We really are in the age of Obama and all the GOP chickens are finally coming home to roost.

I like DeMint and hope to see him part of the ticket at some point. Seems to be grounded firmly in his beliefs and not afraid to say them out loud, nor afraid to go against the grain when called for. What a breath of fresh air. Are you listening Mr. Steele?

And, yes, we should all demand the monies turned over to the ACORN lover be returned. She's DOA in the polls and a bandaid is not going to resusitate her.

I would ask anyone who places 'principle over Party,' would they abandon the Republican Party, as Hoffman has, to run on the Conservative Party ticket?

Is it time for a real third party option? Or, are these Republicans opportunists? Put your money where your mouth is, and run where your principles are. Leave the Republican Party and join the Conservative Party.

All politics is local and an elected official will represent the interests of the local constintuency. Would a politician support raising import taxes on a product that is also produced in that district? If that politician is a Republican? A Democrat?

Would a politician support price supports (subsidies and Government spending) on a product or commodity produced in that district? If that politician is a Republican? A Democrat?
