Lieberman on the other hand…well, I guess we’ll see how much he wants to hold onto that sweet sweet Homeland Security Committee chair. Because if he votes against cloture I’ll guarantee its gone.

Chap, Don’t be so sure that Joe Lieberman is a dead duck in 2012 in Connecticut. Remember that he will get to run against a joke named Ned Lamont. Yes, Lamont won the Dem. primary in 2006 but Lamont got whomped in the general election. Lamont is such a joke that on his primary night victory speech, Lamont had Al Sharpton on one side of him and Jesse Jackson on the other side. Lamont was effectively finished at that point. Everyone knew he was a pushover. Lamont is married to a woman who makes millions in investment banking and Ned is her hobby. She lets her less wealthy hubby spend millions of her money on the campaign. A few years ago, they sent out a Christmas card to their friends and supporters. The photo showed the dynamic duo surrounded by their hoursehold staff with the household staff wearing nice uniforms. Believe me. Lamont can’t relate to people in Connecticut outside Round Hill Road in Greenwich. If you wanted to see something absolutely hilarious, you should have seen Ned Lamont try to get down and jiggy with the folks in the North end of Hartford back in 2006.

I am pessimistic that the Republican brand will be awakened by Hoffmann’s showing, but one can hope. I do believe this election probably and should have everyone in Washington nervous. The independents have woken up and are not happy with the way things are going.

they are probably going to run the very popular AG, Richard Blumenthal, against him. I know its early, but polls have showed him crushing Lieberman in a head to head

Which means, Gingrich will endorse him as a Republican candidate for an open seat, because he’s got about 10% conservative blood (but will continue to caucus with democrats). Yep…perfect fit.
