Look what Scozzafava’s favorite ACORN front group is up to now

The Working Families Party, an ACORN front group whose ballot line Newt Gingrich-endorsed radical leftist Dede Scozzafava has embraced on multiple occasions, is up to no good again.
The NYPost reports:
The labor-backed Working Families Party has engaged in “an audacious scheme to violate the law” to help the party’s favored political candidates get elected, a sweeping new lawsuit charges.
The first-of-its-kind suit says the WFP created a political outfit, Data and Field Services, that it is using to “circumvent state election and local campaign finance laws.”
The way the scheme works, according the suit, is that the WFP gets involved in local races, backing its favored candidates, who in turn hire DFS for vital campaign services, such as phone banking, polling and get-out-the-vote efforts.
But under the plan, the WFP-endorsed candidates pay only “a nominal sum, well below fair market value,” for those services — giving those candidates a major, unfair advantage over their opponents, whose spending is limited by law.
“This is a case about an audacious scheme to violate the law by using corporate subterfuge to hijack our local election process,” says the suit, which was filed in Staten Island.
“It goes to the very heart of our local democracy and undermines the fairness and integrity of our local elections.”
The suit, filed on behalf of five aggrieved Staten Island voters, highlights the relationship between the City Council campaign of Debi Rose, a WFP-backed candidate, and DFS.
The court papers provide a case study for how the WFP, which has been increasing its influence, operates.

The NYPost editorial board endorses conservative Doug Hoffman for Congress:
No, Republicans needn’t toe the conservative line without any deviation. Moderate GOPers like Rudy Giuliani have managed to stray on some issues without wholly betraying their party.
But a Republican should adhere to certain minimum GOP principles. Scozzafava is just too far to the left too often.
And not only on social matters, like same-sex marriage and abortion. In Albany, Scozzafava has been such a profligate tax-and-spender, she can almost make Speaker Sheldon Silver blush.
With the backing of the ACORN-allied Working Families Party, she supports Big Labor’s favorite organizing bill — card-check — as well as the federal stimulus, opposed by every House Republican.
Hoffman, by contrast, understands the dangers of unchecked spending, monster deficits and ever-higher taxes — i.e., concerns of average working Americans.

This is the face of American elections today. The whole process is being subverted to get communist radicals into office. The fact that Scuzzyfava is a “Republican” shows that both parties have been infiltrated, and a vote for either party will likely get the same result. If our government wasn’t completely corrupt, the FBI would be all over this.
When corporate entities buy off ACORN thugs they are contributing to this subterfuge. Weaklings such as John McCain help pass “campaign finance reform” legislation which seems to almost always favor these scam artist.Sadly it takes these five aggrieved Staten Island voters to highlight this. Where are all these “non partisan elections watchdogs” all the campaign “reforms” are paying for?
I await our Justice Department to be right on it any century now-Eric Holder are you there?
The MSM will be all over this… ha
crickets…
Here is a really good article wrt NYC’s campaign finance laws.
I was curious about the claim that campaign expenditures were limited by law. This appears to be true if the candidate accepts public financing.
Conservatives do not take betrayal by the Republican party well at all.
Who would have thought that?
Sorry Newt. You’re a smart guy but, maybe too smart for the rest of us conservatives. Now let’s see if other “so called” leaders of the Rep. Party are listening or if they are too smart for us also.
Even the flea’s fleas have fleas! This Country needs an enema, stat!
DFS is not following the capitalist logic. They are charging less for services that other similar firms offer.
This is akin to McDonalds selling a hamburger for one dollar, and Burger King selling a similar hamburger for twenty five cents. Won’t Burger King and DFS go out of business because they are loosing money? Maybe.
Or, is McDonalds charging an excessive price for it’s burger?
It is whatever the market will bear in both cases. What you charge for your services is what you charge.
If there is any difficulty, or law breaking, it would be in DFS getting financial support from sources other than the fees they collect for their services. from the various candidates. There is no allegation that DFS is receiving support, nefariously.
Maybe, nefarious support of DFS will be uncovered, and that will be another issue. Until then, DFS will charge what they charge.
I have to vote come election day, by taking time out to go and stand in line. The question that troubles me, is my vote going to count…or be tossed aside by some group, promoting another candidate? The corruption is so rampant, one wonders what will happen. Too many Americans get their news from radio headlines, or the MSM at 6 pm. I doubt they know…or even care.
“Working Families” = related slaves living under the same roof
Morning zyzzyg, still bothering the adults I see. What does MickyD charge for a Kid’s Meal these days?
the Canadian press is more likely to be covering it…
That’s the problem -they’re only able to this because, through ACORN, they have access to your tax dollars!
Mystifyingly, Scozzafava also seems to be oblivious tot his point; else she’d distance her campaign as far away as possible from ACORN and its tentacled offspring agencies.
Oops! tot his=to this
They’re out hanging around the polling places with billyclubs.
I watched Newt dance last night on Fox News, in defense of his support for this woman. “Let the conservatives in New York decide if she’s conservative enough for them”.
Has he not been paying attention? These ideologues get into Congress and then it’s all about their special interest groups and NO LONGER ABOUT their constituents. Der!
She’ll be dancing to the tune of her sugar-daddy: Big Labor and the abortion lobby.
Newt is bad for this country. Go away, Newt. Shoo.

Exciting news!
As you know, Senator Thompson has been actively backing Conservative Republican candidate Doug Hoffman for Congress in a Special Election in New York .
Just moments ago, a TV commercial was released featuring Senator Thompson. The Hoffman campaign is airing the spot throughout the district in the final days!
See the commercial here http://www.fredpac.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/hfcthompson.mp4.
This ad will help “seal the deal” – it sets out clearly what is at stake in this election.
Your support of Fred PAC is making it possible for real, conservatives dedicated to First Principles to advance throughout the country. But there is still so much more to do.
Please, if at all possible, send the largest contribution you can to Fred PAC today. You can donate by going to https://www.fredpac.com/contribute.php
A victory in New York next week will be a resounding call to arms for all conservatives in America . Please do all you can to help spread the message to return our nation to the Founding Principles.
This is the face I make when I’m surprised about something…
That is not the problem. No where in the Post article is a monetary link to ACORN alleged.
There very well might be a monetary link, but it has not been demonstrated that ACORN is funding DFS. And, that any funding goes to help reduce the fees that DFS charges. As I said, should this be uncovered, then and only then, will it become an issue.
The problem is conflating and jumping to knee jerk conclusions. Yep, asking questions is a good thing, but making unsubstantiated assertions is less than helpful.
They’re subsidized unknowingly by us! Stop being such a balloon knot!
… and, thus, in effect making an illegal donation to the campaign.
this woman must have some serious stuff on both parties. she’s getting money and perks from all sides. is her husband the mafia don of upstate ny?
Nope. No such thing has been alleged. Re-read the article again. Only that DFS is doing more with less. Yep, ask quetions, but making unsubstatiated assertions is less than helpful.
CORRECTED
ACORN has accepted Federal Largesse. There is no proof, or an accusation that DFS has. Yes, facts do matter.
Nope. No such thing has been alleged. Re-read the article again. Only that DFS is doing more with less. Yep, ask quetions, but making unsubstatiated assertions is less than helpful.
And preferentially passing those savings on to WFP-favored candidates, as stated in the article. That looks to me like an illegal donation.
I was under the impression that the fluid was warm, but no way did I think I could taste the high colonic. Maybe it was a bit too high…
