Operation Housecall

By Michelle Malkin  •  November 3, 2009 11:12 AM

If you can’t make it to the Capitol Hill health care protest in Washington, D.C., on Thursday, there’s still plenty of work to be done from your own backyard.

Tea Party Patriots has a target phone/fax list for Operation Housecall.

Get busy!

***

For motivation:

The health care bill headed for a vote in the House this week costs $1.2 trillion or more over a decade, according to numerous Democratic officials and figures contained in an analysis by congressional budget experts, far higher than the $900 billion cited by President Barack Obama as a price tag for his reform plan.

While the Congressional Budget Office has put the cost of expanding coverage in the legislation at roughly $1 trillion, Democrats added billions more on higher spending for public health, a reinsurance program to hold down retiree health costs, payments for preventive services and more.

Many of the additions are designed to improve benefits or ease access to coverage in government programs. The officials who provided overall cost estimates did so on condition of anonymity, saying they were not authorized to discuss them.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has referred repeatedly to the bill’s net cost of $894 billion over a decade for coverage.

***

Mark Levin and Jon Voight will be on the Capitol Steps!

“We the People” will come knocking on Congress’ door noon hour, Thursday.

In another era, it was Paul Revere red flagging patriots with the immortal words, “The British are coming!”.

Until patriots arrive on Congress steps Thursday at noon, it’s “We the People are coming!” The courageous, Paul Revere like call to action is from bottom liner Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann, who wouldn’t let Democrats—who changed the locks on doors against the opposition—keep her from turning the tide on the countdown to Obamacare.

Waiting on the Congress steps will be radio talk-show giant, bestselling Liberty & Tyranny author and beloved American folk hero Mark Levin along with “Midnight Cowboy”, “Obama-is-the-false-prophet” crusader Jon Voight.

Being blacked out and bypassed by the mainstream media has only made Bachmann all the more determined to flood Congress with patriots.

Within mere hours of her rally call, the Tea Party Express together with the doctors of Take Back America and the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons, the patriots of Tea Party Patriots Live and Resistnet vowed to “Stand together, speak from the heart and remind Washington we will stand together to protect this country.”

“For months we have all been working feverishly to make sure that government run health care legislation is not passed. We have done it all,” writes Amy Kremer of Tea Party Express.

“We’ve yelled.
“We’ve called.
“We’ve emailed.
“We’ve written.
“We’ve rallied.
“We’ve even marched on the Capitol.

“Still our cries and concerns have not been heard.

“We have cried tears of despair and shouted in frustration, but still many are not listening.”

Michele Bachmann heard, and what started out as the lone voice of a single representative will be joined across the nation by patriots who could not make it to DC on the the notice allowed singing “God Bless America” across the fruited plains.

They don’t have my senator listed. Kay Hagan barely won in NC as a D during the presidential election.

She voted against the D’s for tobacco legislation earlier this year. Her next election is going to be during an off year so she won’t get the push she got this time from the national election.

People here don’t like amnesty, cap and trade, or 500B in Medicare cuts. Hagan will lose her seat if she votes for Pelosi and Reid’s legislation. She knows it more than anyone.

I’d accept that explanation if the rest of their list wasn’t so woefully off and that they specifically said they were listing the Blue Dogs.

Seriously, including the leadership and the first 10 alphabetically, they were missing 8 names. Including 3 of the 4 leadership positions.

Here’s the message I sent to my two Dem senators, Bennett and Udall, CO:

    Senator,
I urge you to vote *against* this healthcare industry killing monstrosity! There’s so much wrong with it, I don’t know where to begin!

The vast majority of Americans have health insurance, and are happy with it. Why rebuild the whole system when only a small part of it is broke?

Any health insurance reform bill MUST include tort reform. You show you are owned by trial lawyers by not addressing it.

The current bill creates over 100 new government beauracracies!

It is designed for a government take-over of the healthcare industry. A cursory look at Canada and Britain shows how that works out.

It will raise, not lower the cost of healthcare!

You cannot Constitutionally REQUIRE individuals to buy a product. Even health insurance!

If you really want to lower the cost of healthcare, and make health insurance available to more people, you MUST remove obstacles to the free market!

    -Tort Reform
    -Eliminate Government Mandates
    -Promote Competition

It’s free market capitalism that has made this country the greatest, richest country on the planet. Government interference is what is wrong with healthcare.

“I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of
    them.” – Thomas Jefferson

    VOTE NO.

But is Pon Farr really a treatable medical condition? Isn’t it akin to puberty? And how should it be treated? Drugs? Surgery? And at what cost? These are the kinds of questions that need to be answered about this bill! We need this debate! The last thing we need is a horde of tumescent Vulcans roaming the streets, because Obamcare wasn’t properly fleshed out!

They normally list Webb as a Blue Dog because he talks like a man (rare for a Democrat) and owns guns (unheard of for a Democrat, they just hire guns). I don’t trust any dem, they’re all dems for pete’s sake.

This might explain why a subcommittee of the House Veterans Affairs Committee postponed a hearing scheduled for tomorrow on veterans health care.

It certainly would not look good to have veterans complaining of poor government run health care when socialists are trying to turn the private health care system into something worse.

Good letter Dex…I wonder if it will be ignored.

As for Constitutionality, the socialists will try get away with as much as they can because of their double standard.

If a massive law supported by leftists like this ends up in court, whatever is declared unconstitutional is carved out and they go back to the drawing boards to get around it.

If it’s a law that conservatives support, the entire law is thrown out as unconstitutional…the left refuses to allow any portion of it to stand.
